This streaking artifact only happens with digital, solid-state cameras that have only become common in the past decade or two.  This streaking effect does not happen with photographic film and chemical developement, so no… it would not have been reported back in the ‘old days’.

I bow to your professional expertise. A case of only believing half of what you see. I’d like to know what those people taking those pictures actually were taking a picture of. If as you said they were unaware and didn’t see the streak or beam until after taking the picture it would sure add credibility to what you say. On the other hand, if they were actually photographing the streak or beam it would certainly suggest something other than a trick of photography. In this case I guess we’ll never know. Every day is a learning experience. Thanks!!

Maya=your learned response has only one problem…if the shafts are due to some defect or some odd angle in the photographic device, then they would have been reported–on a widespread basis–round the world, for many years…wouldn’t they?

Good questions… ones I also asked myself.   Yes… it is possible for the cloud image overlay to ‘modulate’ the streak as it is shifted off.  For the reflections on the water… think of the water as a mirror.  It sees the lightning flash also, and the water pool image also overloads the sensor.  In the case of the puddles in the foreground, there is just enough light to make the sensor streak ‘fuzzy’ but not a solid streak to the edge of the plate… so you can make out the dark ground around the puddle.   That one is a bit different, but there are many complexities to the optical and electrical microstructure of the sensor plate.. many variations… that can cause responses like this.

In TV cameras for field use, they go to great pains to eliminate this streaking effect in the design of the CMOS sensor plate.  They are expensive, and will still streak if you catch the sun with too wide an exposure.    The personal still cameras for consumer use use cheap CMOS designs that work OK under “Normal” conditions, but no attempt is made to supress these out-of-bounds bright spots.   They are all a bit different, depending on chip design.

I went back and reviewed the photos again and it brings to mind a couple questions.

Would your explanation also cover the fact that some of the flashes you mention seem to be partially behind the clouds in the picture?? If it is a flash as you describe it seems they should be totally in the foreground.

Also, would the flash also include the reflection in the water as shown in some of the photos?? They appear to be actual reflections and not a continuation of a flash.

I bow to your superior knowledge and admit I have zero experience with photography but those two things do not compute in my mind.

I have been a television broadcast engineer for a good portion of my life.  With the demise of ‘tube sensors’ and implementation of CMOS  Solid-state image sensors in TV cameras and now every type of personal non-film digital cameras, I have seen streaks like this often.   The clue in these images is that it is associated with a lightning flash, or other very bright spot or reflection.

When a CMOS image sensor is exposed to a ‘hot spot’ it goes into a temporary overload condition.   The momentary exposure image is moved off the sensor plate by a digital ‘register shift’ to the edge of the image plate.  A ‘hot spot’ of light image will leave a bright streak like this as it is digitally shifted off the edge of the sensor plate.  It is an artifact of the image sensor.

Another important clue is that the photographers always deny ‘seeing’ this light beam with their eyes when they take the picture.  It is always discovered afterward when they look at the recorded image.  It is a sensor artifact… not real.

Thus endeth the epistle of the apocalypse.

Contemporary global finance is a complex “system” of interwoven (electronic) “faith-based networks.” As the bursting of the global Bubble unfolds, myriad “financial dogmas” will be exposed as bogus. Too many have been little more than chicanery.

I really fear for the unwind of the “global government finance Bubble” – the grand finale of a multi-decade period of serial Bubbles. It’s history’s first systemic global Bubble, encompassing the world’s Credit systems, securities markets and monetary systems more generally. Excesses have engulfed the heart of “money” and Credit throughout both the “developing” and “developed” world. Central banks (of all stripes) have printed Trillions of “money” and Trillions more have been created in the process of leveraging securities and other assets. This type of monetary inflation invariably incentivizes destabilizing speculation, fraud, malfeasance and wealth redistribution. It’s fomented a geopolitical tinderbox.

I allow my mind to imagine the type and poor quality of assets on (bloated) Chinese, Brazilian, Russian, Asian and EM bank balance sheets – yet it’s surely a lot worse. I ponder how desperate governments will use their state directed lenders to stimulate and obfuscate – and then I contemplate the scope of future government bailouts. On a global basis, I believe there is today more speculative leverage in global currencies and securities markets than ever – and I fear my bearish imagination might only scratch the surface. There have been too many years of financial manipulation, innovation, experimentation and exploitation – on an unprecedented globalized scale.

“Saving America?” No, Donald Trump Is a Clinton Operative

It’s been pretty shocking that people are actually walking around talking about how Donald Trump is going to “Save America”. If you ever needed a sign that the country is lost, that’s gotta be it.

But worse is the fact that Trump is so obviously a Clinton plant and people just ignore the facts because right now he’s “telling it like it is”. More like he’s tell you what you want to hear at a time when people are desperate to hear any truth coming out of the American political-industrial complex.

First of all, if anyone ever had half a chance in Hell of changing anything in this country, rest assured The Powers That Shouldn’t Be would not let that person anywhere near the Oval Office. The last time this country had a president that tried to change things, that person got his brains blown out in front of the entire country.

But here’s what actually going on. Hillary Clinton’s private email server woes are not going away, just like the Clinton camp surely had an inkling they wouldn’t. Back in mid-March, The New York Post reported that Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s senior adviser, purposefully leaked details regarding Hillary Clinton’s private email to the press through people outside the White House in order so that the leak couldn’t be directly traced back to the administration.

The scandal bomb, as I reported then, was perfectly timed just before Hillary’s announcement to run as president. Everyone knew by that point that Hillary could  announce her run at any time. And she did, just weeks later, officially announce her bid for president on April 12, 2015.

So how does this all connect to Trump?

Knowing the email scandal wouldn’t go away, the Clinton camp needed a big distraction. So what did they do?

They phoned a friend. In late May, Bill Clinton had a private conversation with his good friend, Donald Trump just before Trump decided to run himself.

Now why would a good friend of the Clintons pose himself as opposition like that?

And I do mean good friend. Here are the Clintons at his wedding in 2005:

Trump has also donated to the Clinton Foundation, a point that hasn’t gone unnoticed by people like Senator Rand Paul. Yeah, about that:

“I gave to many people before this,” Trump said at the debate today. “When they call, I give. And you know what, when I need something from them two years later, three years later, I call them. They are there for me.”
