Amen, brother. Like already said, if Sadam had been growing asparagus instead of oil, he’d still be doing it. Instead, we piled up a stack of lies, and hunted him down like the dog he was. Unfortunately that particular dog maintained relative peace in the region, and all we had to endure was his B.S.
As you imply, drop a bomb on YOUR wedding, thinking it is a terrorist meeting, and suddenly you have created a family of terrorists. Why do they sever heads on the beach? Because they don’t have fighter planes that can drop bombs. If they could, they would, without hesitation. And eventually, they will, if we don’t stop them.
We had a hand in creating them, and now we must destroy them. Or they will most assuredly destroy us at their first opportunity. As a country, we are pompous and arrogant, and have taken it upon ourselves as a country to force our beliefs on others that would prefer to be left the hell alone.
We’ve also done much good, but more often than not, doing nothing would have been the better course of action. And since I’m probably going to be in the middle of a shit storm here, just another thought.
I think Obama is taking the right course of action. (at the moment) When ISIS decides to take on Italy, let’s see what Italy does about it. ISIS took on Jordan, and I think maybe that wasn’t a very good idea for ISIS. What about Iraq? Well, we took it on, and it’s going to be ours for a long time to come.
