My carnivore diet son has been working in Texas for three months, and he doesn’t see any sign of high quality steaks anywhere. Tough and tasteless, according to him, (my Dad said the same 50 years ago compared to English beef) but the locals rave about them. Export credits are going to reduce the revenue from tariffs, how has that been costed into the MAGA equation? They obviously haven’t. Looks like Trump got carried away with the initial caving by countries subject to his 25% tariffs in the first couple of weeks. They all caved to his demands immediately to get them rescinded, and he assumed any tariff on anyone would work likewise.

Not that any tariff deals with the fundamental inequality between the US and the most tariffed nations; labour costs. If there were no tariffs anywhere, you (and us) would still be flooded with cheap clothing, food, beer (Corona is now brewed in China), toys, electronics, steel etc. because their wages are so much lower. And also because their purchasing power is so much lower there is no market over there for middle class goods produced in America or Europe. They can’t afford them. So no tariffs anywhere would still result in trade deficits for developed countries.

So here goes:

Trump’s job is to level the world’s “playing field” with Tariffs so no matter where you are in the world everyone uses the same currency and everything costs the same.

I don’t know about you but I feel sometimes like a hostage that can only do so much for ones that will listen to the warning of the testimonials with my hands tied as I watch all the damage through the years its caused going unabated  before it’s ended. As long as it’s fair and something to gain on both sides it’s not caving really. The people on the other hand could be pushing back on the taxes and how many of them are based on using excuses like climate change. That might bring up migration. If they were really worried about climate change why are they over populating their country with migrants they will have to feed when they have to adhere to make up rules these other countries don’t and not realistic in results without migrants yet with them.

Meanwhile Trump’s tarriffs are helping ranching and fisherman I just heard. A rancher of quality beef  came on saying they have been decimated by mostly Asia on tarriffs giving them a advantage and Shrimpers said the majority a high number in the 90 percent is coming from overseas mainly Asia and who wants contaminated shrimp farms from Asia the tarriffs are helping the shrimpers too. People don’t realize the work and knowledge that comes from ranchers raising quality beef and humanity. . SNG knows but not many on  how much knowledge they have to know and active physical work not sitting behind a computer. That they’re losing these ranchers and with them their skills , dedication and knowledge.

I look at Gold as a witness and testimonial of  past generations , the truth and experiences with falling empires and currencies  that was passed down through time. The power grabbers of past and present were based on lies, manipulation, greed and exploitation.  They can’t have the truth standing out as a witness and told you so reminder, so their next move as long as they can still put it off maybe collecting more for themselves in the process until they can’t is predictable but only temporary.

There’s nothing or dangerous for a child than putting them in a position their not wanted or given or taken by the government less their very life depends on it. They are vulnerable to any scum bag that comes along.  In  the last part of my nursing I worked with some of them and many coming from over the borders. They need protection no matter how difficult they become because of it and passed around not being able to form any bonds, social norms or normal phases of growing up.

Silver is relatively strong due to short covering which won’t last … don’t be fooled.

The Gold/Silver Ratio could make a profound double top at 130 once the shorts finish covering. Only a weekly close below 100 would case this view to come into question. Weakness in the broader equity complex should force gold and silver lower in coming weeks, where a lasting bottom should not be expected until Fall – like the year 2000.

A temporary bounce should come in June. (Likely due to a Fed panic and bounce in the equity complex.)

Still the difference is being made in UK, EU or USA you generally know your going to get a better quality product. Yet we let China take over things they can cheat on qualityike steal that hold up bridges and buildings, if it was cement it would have more sand than cement mixed in, if it was toys, lead in the paint, food contaminated and animals abused, and medicine who knows what they mix with it and remember a woman complaining once her father’s heart medicine was changed to a company that made it in China it wasn’t effective as before. Not to mention the war on Fentanyl being snuck in from China to kill mostly the young via Mexico who will do anything for a buck and a severely and criminally compromised FDA. Perhaps between the UK, EU, and USA et al their chasing their tails around in circles and maybe need to start getting it together.

A car enthusiast friend in Vienna called me today to make fun of all the hysterical talk in Europe about President Trump’s alleged outrageous affront to free trade by imposing tariffs on the importation of European products.

“Do you know how much a new Mercedes CLE 450 costs in Vienna?” he asked.

“I don’t know—90,000 Euro?” I guessed.

“Good guess. 95,000 Euro,” he replied.

“And in the US?”

“$70,000 dollars,” I again guessed.

“No, $67,500” he said.

In other words, a new Mercedes Benz made a few hundred miles from Vienna in the same EU zone costs $38,000 more than it does in the United States. The reason is because the E.U. levies a 20% Value Added Tax and several other taxes onto the sale of cars. One result of this is that the United States if by far the largest market for German cars. Los Angeles is the largest market in the world for Porsches.

I wondered what an American Corvette Stingray costs in Vienna, and I found a dealership that sells them. In the States, the C8Z06 starts around $115,000. In Austria, including all of the taxes (“Preis Brutto”) the car goes for 350,000 Euros.

At least with respect to the auto industry, it is perfectly silly for the Europeans to claim that Trump’s tariffs are some sort of unfair, punitive, jingoistic action. Even with the new tariffs, American taxes on cars will still be lower than what they are in Europe.

Hard to believe the shorts didn’t anticipate a bounce.
