Things that should not be forgotten or left behind. That human life and our culture are much more important than human made machines or becoming addicted to them.

The old ways had
The places of worship.
The family and caring for family including extended family.
The neighbors and watching out for each other and not only crime.
Where their word or promise could be trusted and dealt with if they weren’t.
The encouraging and teaching children to be productive and good neighbors. To make things themselves including toys as children. Kids started out by making their own skate boards in the 50s and go carts and many other things. Learned to hunt, fish, build, and machinery, livestock. Girls making dolls, cloths, blankets, candles, baskets, bread, butter, preserve food and more, also could hunt, fish and cook wild game and learned gardening and home remedies. They were producers.
Teachers were once paid by the parents, they had a say in what they were being taught. They still pay through taxes but now it’s become a separate agenda. They still have a say it’s their children but have to watch close and act fast to even remove them at times.
The new age became consumers and nuclear family’s just parents or parent and child With more government intrusion that are now without the group support of diverse producers or producing children sharing the work are falling apart. When that happens the next nail comes.
If something including industrial came into their community the community group considered the impact to that community first until too much politics got involved and not enough people of the old ways to stop or control.
Most of us were born post war and remember the peoples old ways while seeing the direction of the new ways and coming to fast without regard or permission because the groups were being left behind.
We babyboomers don’t fit totally in to either but are the last of the generation that lived amongst them and remembers that time. Most of us know the days of the past were much better than today as well as the negative impact the new ways are having on the present and future and able to recognize and question if there will be a future for the next generations. That if something catastrophic came along and they had to produce and provide for themselves and by themselves without a diverse group around them most won’t survive and that’s just one of the problems.
