But then who holds the reserves. Say if we feared bank failures what’s the fastest way to get your money out? To transfer to a broker then buy dollars or treasures could take days. Stable coin would be the fastest. Now if brokers could take them that would help.

So who are the reserves. I checked.

Stablecoin reserves are typically held by regulated U.S. financial institutions or pre-approved custodians. These reserves are segregated from the issuer’s other assets and are held for the benefit of stablecoin holders. The reserves consist of assets like U.S. Treasury bills, cash, and other liquid assets.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown:
  1. Regulated Institutions: Stablecoin reserves are often placed as deposits with U.S. banks.
  2. Custodians: Some issuers may also use pre-approved custodians to hold the reserves.
  3. Separation: The reserves must be kept separate from the issuing entity’s other assets.
  4. Reserves Composition: Acceptable reserves include US coins and currency, deposits with Federal Reserve Banks, demand deposits at insured depository institutions, Treasury bills, notes, or bonds with a maturity of 93 days or less, certain repurchase agreements, reverse repurchase agreements, and money market funds.
  5. Transparency: Many stablecoin issuers publish monthly disclosures of their reserve composition, which are often examined by registered public accounting firms.

I don’t know if they would use it either less their currency was falling. Otherwise I think that’s why they call it stable coin if it’s pegged to the dollar or another currency and doesn’t float.

Those who trade currency’s could make money moving it around. Like when ours went down and caused their to gain and vise versa if they got their timing right. I don’t know if there’s any costs involved with that. Like for some reason the Swiss franc trust went way up recently.

FXF and SWZ but not in big numbers. I wasn’t watching the others like Euro or yen. I’m sure they went up too. If you traveled and saw it moving you could switch over easier than transferring currency in a bank. So travel or having some money out of the bank could be helpful.

Might be good to travel with because you can move it to different currency’s or banks you link it too in case of robbery when they force you to draw money out like south of the border or we let them turn it to a third world Cambodian type hell hell on earth here it could come in handy.

Yeah, I don’t know. Bitcoin is too volatile to be linked to a currency for starters. I’ve heard rumblings of XRP maybe, but I don’t know. I suppose the biggest question is whether the world would accept a crypto dollar in trade? Same problems, different vehicle.

Crypto, besides the original Bitcoin it seems they want to link it to the dollar they can’t do with original other than own it  How will that save the currency if it’s linked to it?  When the dollar goes into a free fall with the printing press a few years from now or less globally, I have a feeling the coins linked to that falling currency will go down with it.

#silver´s ATH is not 50, it is 806. In 1998 USD value…

Silver had been in decline for 500+ years when it bottomed around the millenium.

Could 800 happen briefly again when silver goes ballistic at the end of the commodities bull?
Absolutely.

Everyone play too hard this weekend?

We are getting older, so a rough weekend is cause for rest. 🙂

I thought we might have a few more visitors to the site as the metals went higher but seems the general public hasn’t really participated in this run yet. Still playing with stocks and crypto. PM’s are long forgotten…..until they’re not. So far just the big money folks are playing?

2nd half of the day kicks off. We’re going to need silver higher to get these shares unhooked from the SM.

Gold is so impressive.***

We might get a little window to buy here over the next few days.

To go along with the article, I checked out my golddealer.com. I’ve bought from them since 2001. It appears that premiums are starting to rise a bit and they are offering spot for sellers, where they were offer 1% below a month or two ago.

Most interesting to me is that they were sold out of 10 oz. and above bars. I think they had a kilo bar but everything above 1 ounce is gone. Some 1 oz. gone to. It appears demand is picking up and sellers are drying up. Very good sign for future prices IMO

Just a reminder……

Conclusion from ZH article

Posted by deer79 @ 7:46 on April 28, 2025

….posted this morning.

Conclusion
The data continues to show that there is a lot of movement going on behind the scenes in the gold market. The price of gold has reflected this, hitting new all-time highs multiple times in April before seeing some profit taking.

This is not your ordinary gold market. The market is under pressure and there are a lot of people fighting over limited supply of physical gold. The tariff exclusion did not seem to slow the demand of physical.

It may take several more months for all this to play out, but one thing is for sure… the fireworks are not slowing. The Comex data is sending up loud signals. Physical gold is in demand. Do you have enough?

That’s true but at the same time it was a mixture of things that led to that. China was using their currency manipulation for cheaper labor cost to foreigners, less regulations  and low taxes to the foreign companies to lure them over while at the same time the tax the rich lefties here  were taxing them right out of the country. They were also allowed a scam to change the name of their company in China claiming it was a Chinese country for tax reasons while sending their American name brand back and claiming it’s a American company in China. Then there was union issues here. Then of course the pay for players like Clinton’s and NAFTA made it even easier to outsource.

They weren’t going to get them back to the same thing with temporary low taxes either. It wouldn’t work.

Then what did they tell us? Oh their doing it because we can buy their products cheaper that way. Yeah they moved across the country to have to ship the products back made more cheaply so it would cost less. Armstrong even said that. I don’t think so. They did it to make more money and shipping and tarriffs were cheap in comparison and they would also find ways to sneak them off the ships but that’s another story.

Meanwhile Chinese were copying their products and selling them like  their own products there and elsewhere for less. Also stealing intellectual property.

Now Trump’s tarriffs are a problem for what eventually turned into  more money for them  and unequal trade putting a price on it but at the same time making it more affordable to come back here although the tax the rich and everybody else including the kid at the lemonade stand in blue states might not make sense being state taxes to death to businesses going there so the clueless politicians ruining the states  can pay their bribes to the people for a free something  to get elected again

Thanks Buygold. That was an excellent read. Now here is a very good Man In America. Another one all should watch.

@goldilocks re Cheap Chinese Imports

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 18:44 on April 27, 2025

Their currency exchange rate was artificially pegged around 7 yuan to $1, it should be 2 yuan to one dollar.

It’s obvious to me that millions of businesses from around the world, that before they moved operations there, for 50 plus years they needed a agreed to a somewhat stable exchange rate, at around 7 to $1.

They let it float up and down very slightly to make it look like normal market action, but it’s not, but business moving off shore needed long term “lease agreements” on the exchange rates. Btw Musk is rich and builds cars in USA. Trump also rich and builds houses.

PS re your Chinese companies doing the same thing. Their ripping us off.
Not really China ripping us off, it’s Americans and producers from around the world HAVING there things produced there, China is a sanctuary for foreigners or a global vendor or factory to have there things made there.

SNG – Torba

Posted by Buygold @ 18:10 on April 27, 2025

That was a good read. All true.

Mr Copper

Posted by goldielocks @ 17:31 on April 27, 2025

I understand what you mean but buying a new car for most also including debt and loans that the rich who produce nothing get. Then it loses value over time. I still get what you mean about American made but should be not only competitive in price but last as long.

Other things though and there’s plenty should just be outright outlawed but the reasoning is it curbs greed if people have no other choices and keeps prices in check.

I have too sets of matches for emergencys, fire starters  or avoiding cheap Chinese lighters.

One I found is made by the brand Diamond. The better matches and made in America. Their wood stem is thicker and more sturdy and the stricker on the side works. The other and both prices are comparable is called Spark. They are made in China. The wood stem is thinner, about half the width of Diamond easily breaks when striking which could be a fire hazard and the sulphur on the match often crumbles and doesn’t light and stricker is also bad and hard to use probably the same, cut the ingredients in half or replaced with a sub standard substitute. They wouldn’t be reliable in a survival situation.

So when companies were no longer able to compare quality vs another companies, China took advantage of that. They’ve been studying world wide prices of everything and found a way to make cheaper copies even if they made it cost a little less it’s not saving money if their products fall apart. Not just here but world wide.  It don’t last very long and have to keep buying more made by other Chinese companies doing the same thing. Their ripping us off and they who are eliminating competition if they stop making it here.  It’s not saving money, it’s costing more. I remember even back in the 1970s when visiting a reservation I was shocked to find Indian looking pottery made in it was either Japan or China back then. I think they even took manufacturing from Japan when their products were everywhere back then.  I couldn’t believe it, even the reservation. Not all but that one did because they weren’t into selling  pottery like others.

If You, Or Anybody You Know, Is Making Big Profits Off Americans by Having Their product Made in China Instead?

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 15:28 on April 27, 2025

Then THEY need to pay an enormous tariff, because they screwed America out of the work. Let’s not forget how many technical things we prototyped and developed, very expensive, then give the production runs away to other countries?

I myself have two friends that had their products made in China. The one guy was making millions but got caught making boot leg counterfeit stuffed animals. Thats when he lost millions.

He went back and forth to China 12 times. Fly in and get on a train for eight hours thru wilderness to the factory. He was always nervous because if somebody thru him off the train nobody would know.
