I agree. Consistently strong metals are everything. We shouldn’t have to contend with other markets on a daily basis unless there’s some sort of market crash where everything gets sold. This latest correction in the shares was way deeper than it should have been IMHO because of a lack of confidence that the metals would hold the levels they have. It surely wasn’t based on declining earnings as it has been before, and we never got to the point of pricing in future earnings either IMHO.
They have completely destroyed sentiment in this sector over the last 25 years.
The other thing is that the shares don’t even consistently track the metals intraday, makes it tough to trade the daily swings. There are no consistent correlations intraday either.
