I read this on Reddit

It is of my belief that despite the possibility that before starting the war, the us and israel might have had a different intent, the us and israel now intentionally do want to have hormuz blockaded, at least partially, for the same reason the us deep down wants to have the ukraine war still going.

The real reason being that this enables the us to establish total control over world energy. As a byproduct of these 2 wars, us energy has effectively emerged as the most reliable in the world, as no one is gonna dare to attack us oil infraestructure. By having russian oil infraestructure actively damaged, imposing sanctions on its oil sales, raiding venezuela, blockading iran and having iran blockade hormuz and the houthis blockade the red sea in retaliation, the us has eliminated most if not all potential competition for fossil fuel energy sales from countries not geopolitically aligned with the us.

The us has managed to get europe addicted to its expensive gas and crude instead of russian oil and gas products, and has managed to get all of that energy bought in dollars, therefore allowing them to offload part of their debt through those means. There’s as well a future plan to sell lng through more direct means as there’s an enormous gas field west of gaza that israel now controls, to completely cut reliance on the old nord stream pipeline by building a new one that would go right to europe. All of those sales will be done in dollars, not rubles or euros. Having europe completely reliant on us energy effectively would allow the us to make the eu even more of a vassal than what they currently are, as they could easily use the supply of oil and lng they give to them as a weapon to blackmail them by threatening with raising prices or restricting sales if they don’t agree with the usa’s future imperial ambitions like their take over of greenland for example or like trump’s tariffs and trade war against the world.

Another point to add to this entire puzzle is that before his death, right winged pro nato warmongerer us senator lindsey graham said all of the usa’s plan deep down was to energetically isolate china by cutting away all of their oil sellers (venezuela, iran, russia) as a way to attack china unconventionally by attempting to make them reliant on us oil sales that would have to be in dollars as a way to compensate for the massive trade deficit the us has with china. All direct means the us has used to attack china have previously all failed (sanctions, tariffs), therefore leading the us to be far more unconventional with its approach.

The us would rather live in a world that’s worse for all, including the us itself, as long as they still get to be number 1 in this worse world.

Thank you Ipso and Maddog!

Great to be back everyone. I finally got back in. I wonder if someone was posting under my handle again while I was gone? I was telling ipso that I took an amazing work trip with a close friend and we had a great time in a town called Paonia, Colorado. It’s south of Grand Junction. I’m helping prepare a site for my friend’s house. I rode the train home from Grand Junction and it was an epic trip along the Colorado River.

You’ve highlighted a few companies drill results recently. My question is this:

Is there a “layman’s” way of deciphering these drill results into a more simplistic way of understanding what exactly they mean???

Some news hit, that is bearish Oil, bullish SM and PM

So, no bounce then?

These are the days that stick in my craw with the dollar down some – more than it was up yesterday anyway. OTOH, the 10 yr. is up again 3 bips, now above 5.22%, so that must be the rally killer today.

Can we just say it? Any reason for pm’s to be down will be used. But I do see the SM is doing just fine.

All I ask for is a fighting chance! 🙂

Ipso – I had no idea we were the world’s largest exporter of diesel. That’s a tough deal, we start a war that damages the world’s oil markets, and then we take our diesel supplies off the world market. I can’t imagine for a minute why the rest of the world would be pissed at us.

BTW – I think when we see rates rising and the dollar falling, we’re going to know the bond market is breaking. JMHO

The last time US Treasury yields were this high, total US national debt stood at just $8.9 trillion.

Today, US debt stands at $40.1 trillion. That’s +$31.2 trillion more, or over 4.5 TIMES higher.

This means every 1 percentage point in the average cost of servicing the debt now translates to ~$401 billion per year in interest expense.

In 2007, the same 1 percentage point translated to just ~$89 billion.

That’s an additional ~$312 BILLION in annual interest expense for every percentage point increase in borrowing cost.

This is a vastly different situation than it was 19 years ago.

The bond market matters more now than ever.

for the help with my log in difficulties!!

Still seem to think that the Iranians/Dems/globalists are doing everything possible to keep oil prices high, and to create as much chaos as possible to alter the present political environment.

Ukraine’s anti-corruption bureau raided ex-procurement chief Arsen Zhumadilov’s offices, seizing over $140 million in cash hidden in refrigerator boxes, one labelled “For the Servant of the People,” a jab at Zelensky’s old TV show and party.

It was in refrigerator boxes.

BREAKING: France will deploy soldiers, radars and air defence systems to Saudi Arabia to protect the oil export facilities at Yanbu from Houthi attacks, with Macron not ruling out a French Air Force fighter deployment as well.

“We are going to send military assets to protect the oil facilities at Yanbu in Saudi Arabia,” Macron says.

It comes two weeks after Trump refused MBS’s requests for US strikes on the Houthis, and five days after Trump called off strikes with bombs already loaded on US warplanes.

BREAKING: Ukrainian drones have just struck Russia’s Perm oil refinery this morning, one of the country’s largest and one of six refineries that together produce about half of Russia’s diesel, with the refinery now on fire.

This comes as the US, the world’s largest diesel exporter, is preparing a 90-day export ban that Trump is inclined to announce by the end of the week. Russia, the second largest, already halted theirs.

Re Falklands

i believe we have a small force down there, but could never replicate what Maggie did, so effectively we can do squat .

That said the US may tell Milei to back off, as I always thought there was more to the Falklands than sheep, ie a safe base near Cape Horn.
