The Original ‘California Zephyr’ was hauled by three railroads
CB&Q ‘Burlington’ from Chicago to Denver

D&RGW ‘Rio Grande’ from Denver  over the mountains to Salt Lake City

And the Western Pacific took the zephyr the last leg to California.
