Agree, hard to tell the dollar direction. The algo’s are set such that as the 10 yr. rises, so does the dollar. 10 yr. up a couple bips, so dollar basically flat.
If gold goes, it may go for another reason, not the dollar. Bitcoin is on the move up.
NVDA is down again this am. I kind of think that as NVDA goes, so goes the SM, but who knows?
One further note
DXY is right at it’s 65v week Av…..another good reason we may well see some dollar weakness here.

Hard to say what the dollar is going to do with interest rates hanging over its head.
First it made a head and shoulders which got different sectors bullish including PMs. Then it instead went side ways and the market for the most part followed. If it does head down soon it will complete a reverse head and shoulders if it stops heading down and reverses after, like when the Fed speaks lol, or not depending. It also looks like it’s about to make a golden cross too. Until then that means any move could be temporary and choppy till there is a clearer direction.

The Biden administration is proposing a dramatic overhaul of a 151-year-old law that governs mining for gold, copper and other minerals on U.S.-owned lands, which would force companies to pay royalties to the Federal government on what they extract.
The final proposal, which was drafted by an interagency working group led by the Department of the Interior, also calls for the creation of a mine leasing system and the coordination of permitting among the various federal agencies.
Under the terms of the existing 1872 law, the U.S. government does not collect royalties on minerals extracted from federal lands. The new White House plan would impose a variable 4% to 8% net royalty on hardrock minerals extracted from federal lands.

As is Japan is threatened to go extinct. With population, inflation they’re just not having children now even wanting to get married even if the women are free to choose now where before their parents decided amongst a selection they had to choose from so their daughter didn’t marry a bum or outside their tradition. Unlike some cultures where they have cast systems they didn’t kill them because they loved them but would disown them. Not that it guaranteed happiness because knowing the the women themselves it didn’t but more of survival.
If we we’re to take anyone in here it should be them. IMO One they have a culture that’s more along our values we once had including gender rolls. Two they are proud and won’t just give up their culture to invade or encroach on another in mass. Three they are our allys are loyal and can assimilate. And four they are intelligent. And five it will give more traditional pro American men another option than what they’re trying to do to women here as long as these women don’t wind up with a bum. If the young men want to have a family and a child they don’t want a child “ snowflake” for a wife which many times are narcissist although that can go two ways or one that wants to emasculate them and play my way or no way and think their boss “ or the Queen” drama Queen, which also can go both ways but just sayin.

I mentioned I was shorting the Yen awhile back but didn’t stay in real long because it’s harder to get info from us to others compared to getting info about us from others lol due to lA lA land censorship going in here.
They feel they’re in a trap and their banks weren’t going to change anything to curb inflation because their bonds would fail. Seems to me either way. I feel bad for their people and growing victory gardens in high rises isn’t much a option.
Next I see they’re in outright hyper or stagflation to the point of a gold rush and the PMs have went up significantly compared to the yen.
As before it seemed almost par that if the yen went up so did gold in our currency and vise versa. Why I never had enough time and resources to find out what the significance was. Now that’s no longer the case although there seems to have some pull on it or a heck of a coincidence.
