These lanterns would be a good thing to distribute. I’ve had one for two years and still works fine. It has multi power sources, solar, electrical and wind up. The handle on the wind up could be a little bigger but works fine

I haven’t tried the solar but someone said it takes 40 hrs to get a full charge so people in hurricanes areas should have a few of them while ones charging but still have the wind up option but if their charging their phone would want more than one. Its a lantern and a flash light and power source for your phone and not reliant on only electricity to recharge. They’re trying to get rid of battery’s “ disposable” so you only have electric and then what happens when you have none,

They should be patrolling the areas where survivors are and have some communication system up. They never do though. Since they’re a tight community they will have to camp or ban together and have their own security and communication system. Since they are not then rules are off and table and  their second amendment initiated and keep any guns or means of self defense on their person at all times but not get too trigger happy at night so mistakes aren’t made.
People who live there should be allowed in but told not to go unto their neighbors house because if the possibility they could wind up stepping on human remains.
I’ve  heard needed supply’s aren’t getting to the survivors and the only thing security is doing is keeping people that are mostly the people who live there or family’s out but nothing of patrolling areas where survivors are,
That as far as supply’s they’re only letting FEMA and Red Cross in and not the numerous other donors who’ve sent supply’s.
It’s leaving open conspiracy theory’s. Like the fire was started with weapons, the alarms were never turned on, the people are not getting all the help that is being offered, offers to buy the land are coming in, the gov is offering loans and so forth. And where’s permanent housing vouchers until they can rebuild.
If not too much money it might be good to have a rider of up to one year of a motel or rental on your insurance while they rebuild but it probably would be for most people. .

Children are in school now to, What are they doing for these children that are displaced?

Ps You really made a smart move retiring there. Being on the mainland making money isn’t everything in life and look what they did to it. They have a lot of people there who don’t make a lot of money but they have a better quality of life and community than many cities.

The invasive species Albizia trees can grow huge, and are brittle and break in windstorms.  My property had several and the wild lot next door also.  Hurricane Iselle in 2014 dropped several in my lot and pierced a months-old new roof on the house.  No insurance.  The owners sold out cheap to a ‘flipper’ who fixed up the house and removed the trees.   Then lava flows were threatening the nearby village and road access.  Nobody was buying, many selling and trying to leave.  When the lava flow stopped, I jumped in and got a real bargain on my freshly renovated house.  It’s worth three times that now, but I’m not selling.  This is my retirement home.  1/3 acre and stuff grows like crazy here.  Self-sufficient ‘Victory’ gardening!

I had a tree guy go into the unmaintained jungle lot next door and remove the dangerous trees. (Hawaii law allows that if remote owners are unresponsive.)  We poisoned several medium size trees and now only have to worry about the brittle branches breaking.   So I have minimized the threat to my home.  Our jungle subdivision  is less than half built out, so there are many wild lots full of large trees yet that are a real pain for whomever buys a cheap lot to build on if they have not seen the trees.  Removal can cost more than the original lot land.

The dollar is rallying for one simple reason. The BRICS + 47 are dumping US Treasuries, creating an artificial demand for dollars, so it could go on for awhile. I don’t know. What I do know is that it is collapsing against real stuff, and is about to get worse. Gas here is now pushing $4, that’s from $3.29 a month ago. This wave of inflation won’t let up and the Fed won’t be able to stop it. They created it and have no intention of stopping it. Oh, they’ll raise rates, but it doesn’t matter, it is a controlled demolition that will be out of control. The spigots have been turned off and capital is drying up in the real economy.

Finally, gold and silver will matter. I have no idea what the shares will do, shorts have covered and only the weakest of hands are still selling. I’m not even sure if the stock market will still trade, but it is going to implode. I expect this in the next 12 months. The perfect excuse to implement martial law and cancel elections. Biden is a tool, Obama’s tool and is finishing what Obama started, the destruction of our country.

The funny thing is that all the useful idiots in the Gov’t. will have pensions denominated in dollars that will have no purchasing power. However, they are so stupid they’ll probably blame Trump.

Short term the dollar could head down any time now and wondering if I should pull my shorts for now or wait it out since it’s not that much anyways. At the same time the PMs have to break through resistance they haven’t been able to do yet.

Did you see on the news when they asked Biden if he has anything to say to the people in Maui he smiled and said no comment while he gets off another vacation. Meanwhile the only way Maui got any money was if they agreed to give Ukraine even more money and some other country I didn’t catch. Not much different than the train derailment leaving their town with toxic chemicals making people sick.
