Loading ...Osmotic Laxative. It causes the colon walls to shed water, thus loosening stools. I consumed about 16 ‘normal’ doses in the 12 hours before my colonoscopy to clean house. It is used for preparing for the gut inspection nowadays. After the diverticulitis hit, I was using it again in daily doses to flush out painful solid foods. It’s actually an effective and painless laxative, and I have noticed no ill effects.
