Tourists continue to try to circumvent the 14 day arrival quarantine in Hawaii. Police are getting tired of tracking people, and laws have been changed to make the residential HOST (B n’ B, Hotels, private home rentals,etc) responsible for their guest’s compliance with the quarantine and require the reporting of quarantine breakers.
So when a host noted that their quarantined guests left the premises, they called the police. This couple dropped their luggage and immediately broke quarantine and went out ‘adventuring’, which included posting all their pictures on instagram. This included one of them shooting a feral chicken with a speargun. Police arrested them, with a $4000 bail on the quarantine jumping charge, and an additional charge of animal cruelty for the chicken incident. They are still in jail.

Yeah a lot of people are talking about that. They want to shut down and censur information ie free speech like they do following the China model. Now using the virus as an excuse to track people. If we don’t fight back we won’t be able to use their phones either. First it will be a text saying you were exposed to the virus at the market so stop working shelter in place. Initially we were offered “ papers” to show we were “essential” workers case we got pulled over. I can see all sorts of problems going forward If this isn’t pushed back. Fortunately here anyways we’re not bothered as far as that goes but not this tracking they’re pulling next. People do including me leave their phones behind. I have a backup phone that doesn’t have my info on it or name I use for patients. I’m sure it can get minimal info but not much.

Fifty-three workers at AngloGold Ashanti mine in South Africa have coronavirus
JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) – Underground production at AngloGold Ashanti’s Mponeng mine in South Africa will remain closed until further notice after 53 employees tested positive for the coronavirus, a provincial health department said in a statement on Sunday.
The mine, the deepest in the world, restarted operations on April 22 after closing entirely during a nationwide lockdown, and was operating at 50% capacity.
The department of health in Gauteng, the province where the mine is located, said in statement posted on Twitter that 53 employees at the mine had so far tested positive for the virus, and that a further 104 tests were still being processed.

Zoom, I kick myself for not jumping in on Zoom soon as I asked my daughter what are kids going to do about school. She told me on the computer and asking how she told me a bit and going to be using this zoom which I didn’t hear much about prior to the shut down. Kids get their own log in sites.
