Yeah I know about those activists but surprised you never heard what’s going on with animal abuse and activists that some risk their lives especially overseas with the meat market.
Pitty fighting been going on for decades. Bums that don’t want to work and gang bangers. Even a football player got caught doing it then drowning the dogs in his pool.
Also the rescues that save starving abused dogs some skin and bones tied up left to starve to death.
Google it. It’s all over the place.

@Goldilocks collective work of many different activists.

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 20:35 on April 15, 2020

@goldilocks, yes agreed that is very bad stuff, life can be very cruel. Lots of things attack people too, like cancer.

Don’t trust everything activists say. I’m quite familiar with activists. Recently anti plastic bag activists, anti plastic straws too got laws passed, because THEY want everybody to bring their own reusable canvas bag. On account of the virus, the single use plastic is back. Reusable not sanitary. And plastic bags don’t dissolve and pollute anything. Some them are anti gun activists. They lie or just diabolically stupid.

Activists lie and exaggerate to get their way with dumb elected officials. Also a small group anti alcohol activists caused prohibition, that had to be repealed. Near by the activists managed to remove bail for most  offences, and it started backfiring all over the place with repeat offenders the next day, even bank robbers, and they had to roll it back a bit.

Activists always get their way at passing laws, that are against the law.  It seems like a religion, a hobby or sport or they just love the power. In many cases its actually their entire life. How about open border activists? And illegal immigrants welcome activists.

They have too much power and get lots of publicity.  And suck in other innocent people and donations. Some run for office and get in. The clean air activists must feel like jerks, with people having to ware masks these days. The air is polluted like never before. In general we are all being ruled by the  vocal minority when most of us do not agree with them.

This virus is putting everything into perspective. It makes N. Korea and Iran bomb capability look like nothing. And China could be considered to have weapons of mass destruction, with a lab that produces germs. How the hell did that come about in plain sight.

If everything is in reverse, then all the activist’s power and influence, going back to the 1960s will get looked at and determined to be counter productive and inhibited. Providing the power and opinion of the press will reverse. Like what Trump has been implying.

That’s terrible about the dogs thrown in the trash. I’m surprised they let them get away with it. Sometimes people found their pet was in the kill shelter too late. They already put them down.
Yes bail dogs and pittys forced to fight or killed themselves. The bigger dogs they tape their mouths so they can’t fight back while getting chewed up. Some of the injuries are horrific. Some dogs are left alive to suffer over and over life of fear, pain and infected wounds.
Law enforcement doing their best to find them. Laws are getting stricter now. Getting more time for animal abuse and neglect due the the collective work of animal rights activists.

Or maybe they didn’t want to have a further impact on the shortage of precious metals

@Rickie 17:39 re DALIO: FED WILL DO PRACTICALLY ANYTHING TO SAVE THE SYSTEM

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 19:05 on April 15, 2020

I disagree with Dalio. It doesn’t make practical or mechanical sense to save this Rube Goldberg glopida glopida machine of a global economy. It would be counter productive. Its always been too vulnerable. Its a no cushion no leeway economy. Its NOT engineeringly correct. It totally fundamentally flawed without a gold standard, plus other things.

And the bonds? If its a 10 year? If you hold to maturity, you still get your money back. However if you sell out before maturity, and rates fell, you make a profit on the principal. If they sell before maturity? And rates went HIGHER, you lose principal right?

So, if there is a bond market crash, that means rates are flying up and your principal is under water. So then forced to hold for the next ten years, or cash out and take the loss.

The falling interest rates since 1980 is getting very old and not right. It makes sense for a reversal higher rates. To encourage savings. Instead of making people and gov’ts constantly borrow and spend and have no cushion. Borrow and spend NOW for a house is good to avoid high price later.

But that old trend is tired too. If you borrow at 4%, and the house drops by 4%, you just paid 8%. It used to be you borrow at 6% and the house went up by 15%, you saved 9%. One weeks pay is supposed to cover one months rent.

Masks now required for store entry or public presence everywhere here. We had a cluster of cases at McDonalds in Kona where 7 workers tested positive.  One worker passed it on to 7 more family members at home.  Scary illustration of how it can spread with neglect.

SoftBank’s Fake Startup “Valuations” Come Unglued

But those paper gains were fun while they lasted.

By Wolf Richter for WOLF STREET.

The numbers are huge: SoftBank Group said that it would book a loss of $16.7 billion (¥1.8 trillion) at its Vision Fund for its fiscal year ended March 31, stemming “from a decrease in the fair value of investments due to the deteriorating market environment.” Separately, a spokesman of the fund told Barron’s that this loss included $9.9 billion in new losses.

In November, SoftBank had already reported a loss for the quarter (ended September 30) of $9.0 billion (¥970 billion) on its tech funds, including the Vision Fund. Because the “market environment” was already deteriorating, as WeWork and some of its other investments were blowing up. No Covid-19 needed.

But for its first quarter, ended June 30, SoftBank reported that it had been able to finagle an “unrealized valuation gain” of $3.8 billion at its Vision Fund and Delta Fund, “reflecting an increase in the fair values of OYO and its affiliate, Slack, Doordash, and other investments.”

In plain English SoftBank was just inflating valuations as it went to show paper profits. And those companies and valuations have been getting ripped to shreds.

Goldilocks re your 17:01, Pets Dogs Cats for Bait?

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 17:46 on April 15, 2020

re your “sometimes people give pets away free to good home but instead they wind up in the hands of a monster low life who sell them or use them as bait dogs or even cats.”

Comment: Is that what you heard from someone looking for donations, or selling a subscription for a magazine? Or do you actually have a lot of experience or witness a lot of cruelty towards pets. I myself have not, not at all. Nothing like that around here that I know of.

People using dogs or cats for BAIT?? Who would do that? To catch what? An alligator? They could used road kill or animals that are already put to sleep at a gov’t pound. Which just reminded me. When I was a kid I had a heavy lifting hard labor job. In the summer heat too. And I got a chance to go to for a truck ride to the dumps with an older worker. Ahhh, lets go.

I could not believe what I say. At first I didn’t know what it was. It was a big pile about 6 feet high and very wide pile of dead dogs. Killed at the near by pound I assumed. I heard they put them in chambers and suck the air out. They don’t feel anything.

Like if a pilot goes too high and loses pressure in the cabin. They just get dizzy and fall asleep. One time there was a corporate type jet on auto pilot and they lost pressure, and the plane kept going until it ran out of fuel. Military plans got close and saw frost inside the windows.

Maddog-Yes!! Not a word about Soft Bank all day on TV-amazing! Doofus, “cash is trash” Ray Dalio=

DALIO: FED WILL DO PRACTICALLY ANYTHING TO SAVE THE SYSTEM yes …. and stox have loved it ……. but its getting hard to imagine what additional rabbits it has to pull from hat.

*Ray Dalio Says Investors Would Be ‘Crazy’ to Hold Bonds Now

Bridgewater Associates’ Ray Dalio, founder of the world’s largest hedge fund, said investors would be “crazy” to hold government bonds now because of money printing by central banks to rescue the global economy.

“This period, like the 1930-45 period, is a period in which I think you’d be pretty crazy to hold bonds,” Dalio said Wednesday on the Bloomberg Invest Talks webcast. “If you’re holding a bond that gives you no interest rate, or a negative interest rate, and they’re producing a lot of currency and you’re going to receive that, why would you hold that bond?”

Dalio may not like bonds as an investment, but he said he believes central bankers have to employ every bit of monetary ammunition they can muster to compensate for the collapse in income and spending resulting from the coronavirus pandemic. While economists are divided on how long and deep the recession will be, Dalio thinks about it differently: as a $20 trillion “hole” that needs to be filled.

Gold, along with some stocks and corporate bonds of companies with strong balance sheets are the assets that will rise in the current environment, he said.

Ya know? I thought that was a pretty damn good post, brought up good points, related to that fema video, and nobody said a word, not even a disagreement would be fine. Maybe I should try some posts on the old Vronsky’s site. 🙂

See what happens. Maybe Seattle Sun, Trader Vic, PM Trader, Son of Benson, Half Monty, 1912, goldenroughneck, TQ, North, SanDiegoGold, amy3, goldcreature, Ment, or Bodie or Full Gold Crown, or Burp, aggie etc etc and so many others.

There was a goldilocks before you on G-E a retired stock broker, in Montana. I used to flirt with her.  A few came here though, like WANKA, and FarmBoy,  I miss them, maya, maddog and Richie and ipso and some others are here, so that good.

Following lost let’s rescued pets abused rescued pets it wasn’t funny to me because sometimes people give pets away free to good home but instead they wind up in the hands of a monster low life who sell them or use them as bait dogs or even cats.
Never give a pet away for free or if you do check them out. They can send a normal looking front person. That’s why I didn’t think it was funny and most people at the desk are more involved and knowledgeable about pets.

Goldi did you see the look on the guys face? LOL

who else in the world can even come remotely close to what Martin Eberhard, Marc Tarpenning and Elon have done. Show me one other company that can hold a candle to Tesla’s accomplishments, please. Show me another company that opens their inventions to the world and doesn’t use slimey lawyers to extract copyright infringement laws to create cash flow. Do you see the morons at GM, Ford, MB, Porsche, BMW or ANYONE giving away the pattons? Telsa can’t be stopped, accept and move on. It’s over for every other car company at this point. Funeral time. Tesla at least 10 years ahead of the game. Say bad things, but some people scored at pullback to $350

@silverngold 11:07 re your: “TRUMP HAS GIVEN THE REIGNS TO F.E.M.A.”

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 15:10 on April 15, 2020

I don’t think Trump really “gave” the reigns of anything to anybody. The FEMA power was already there, in place. It didn’t go away. He just simply made an announcement of a transition. The video, plus the end, with papa Bush referring to or implying to a coming “coming” “new world order”, in my opinion is wrong.

My crazy view? The “new world order” started in 1913. It got old and tired. Its simply started failing. Not working out. Too many problems and distortions. You can see the loss of NWO control in long term commodity charts after 9/11/01, after 2004 its obvious. Note uncontrolled mass migration, the closing of borders, populism growing and Gold climbing along with a strong US Dollar lately is another of many clues.

If anything, I don’t know yet for sure yet, but after this possibly exaggerated flu “news” changes to an exaggerated “all clear” “news”, and if TPTB talks about a new restructuring or the present fundamentally flawed global financial system (the 1st NWO) the old new world order will be replaced with a new, new world order.

The new, new world order would probably be better for the USA than the old NWO by promoting Protectionism for the USA to build us back up again. It will probably promote various other countries to be more independent and self reliant.

Because big Global Multinational Corporations have done too well, (HUGE PROFITS) by “playing both sides against the middle” (keep one’s options open by supporting or favoring opposing sides).

Bottom line those big Global Multinational Corporations will be the “burdened vehicle” in the future. You can see this happening already with some Canadian Mining corporations operating in other countries back yards, and the “natives” getting “smart” about it”.

A story came up about the lost Prince in UK in the Queens background apparently that was hidden from the public. When he got a bit older he suddenly started to have seizures and behavior issues that were attributed to saying he had autism.
He wasn’t born that way from what I could see and normal up to a point and know if no high fevers or sickness noted. I wondered if it was caused by vaccines. They were big on especially one vaccine, the small pox vaccine.

Posted by goldielocks @ 13:59 on April 15, 2020

Right and if he had his way that’s would it would be by not taking real protective measures and starvation. Perhaps the bioweapon didn’t work as well as they thought. Already crops rotting, animals being culled due to unmasked workers getting sick, milk going down the drain as schools not buying. Some children school lunch program which also includes breakfast is saving them from malnutrition.
They were also trying to compare it to the flu of 1918 and there is no comparison for many reasons. One the virulence if the flu itself that was according to those who studied it started with vaccines and destroying their immune system of the military sickening them passing it back and forth mixed with issues of war including chemicals started the worst flu in history. People today probably heard of a relative who died from it by elders. They didn’t have antibiotics for secondary or isolation or high oxygen, antivirals or ventilators amongst many other things.
Even saying that was like 1918 is purposeful fear mongering. You could apply that to any flu but the numbers don’t match so their trying to inflate them.
Note there is said to be more bat virus strains than this one. Trumps no doctor he can get economies going which we need more than ever now but looks like he’s draining the bioweapon and vaccine swamp too while he’s at it and swamp compliments of Gates is opening the eyes of more people.
