Loading ...So a few weeks ago my lil Bro and his lady went on a cruise down the Mexican coast. After it ended they went home and the ship with many of the same passengers went on to Hawaii. That same ship is now quarantined in San Francisco Bay.
Bro and his lady have no symptoms weeks later so are presumably OK.

The double risk to those with lung issues is many are on some kinda steroids including other conditions. That doubles their risk of being susceptible to infections as well as getting pneumonia.
Hospitals should be preparing for a course of treatment and isolation. Long term care should have serious inservice training of infection control. The nurses aids especially and they come in close contact and are undertrained and understaffed so moving from person to person at a fast pace.
It’s still someone’s mother, father, grandpa, grandma, aunt or uncle and these kids care about that too.
Anyone at risk shouldn’t really go out now in areas affected that includes any visitors less absolutely sure they haven’t been exposed. If they have a regular check up with they’re doctor and don’t need tests maybe hold off or go with masks and wash their hands a lot and try not to touch anything.
Still people aren’t paying attention to their feet and what they can carry into their house that includes things like E Coli and in hospitals super infections as well. If a virus drop on the ground. Young children lower to the ground and touch anything then their face are always at risk. School age kids can spread it quickly in class then bring it home.
What the older might have in common is their immune systems are lower allowing for opportunitist infections. So supplements might help.
People should have things on hand do if they get the milder form they don’t have to go out to the store.
I hope they get this bird flu one they got now under control because it’s a bad one that will kill anyone. It’s easily passed from Bird to humans but not as easily passed from human to human less more exposure but these things can mutate.

Elderly man who was visiting Washington state didn’t feel well, flew home to Hawaii, and went to bed for a couple days at home before calling ambulance. Now critically ill, tested positive, and in isolation ward at Kaiser Honolulu. Officials now tracking his movements and trying to find out which airline he took here.
