There wasn’t enough shelters nor shelters or places for pets to go.

Puerto Rico wasn’t prepared nor prepared their people. Then with their poor infrastructure didn’t take steps to get to those areas. A female cop was able to get through saying the mayor had the supply’s delivered but wasn’t distributing them to make it a political play out of it and to bring in the military. They had no helicopters? Stupid is as stupid does. People shouldn’t trust the gov to take care of you esp of you live in poor areas where they expect them to take care of them instead of taking measures to prepare themselves.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – Five residents of a ramshackle desert compound were indicted Tuesday on firearms and conspiracy charges. Federal prosecutors in New Mexico say the group was preparing for violent attacks on government, military, educational and financial institutions.

Another day, another down open

TS Olivia ran into a wind shear east of the islands that toppled the storm and shed most of the moisture out east on the ocean.  We have left a spinning vortex low with 50 mph winds that will pass thru the Alenuihaha Channel between Maui and the Big Island.  The mountains on either side will further knock the stuffing out of the storm.  It is not carrying much water at this point…. little rain.  Mostly some strong winds expected.

Today was a beautiful blue sky sunny day in Hilo.  Hard to believe there was a tropical storm warning posted.  It is still a calm night out here on the eastern point, with no rain.  Olivia is turnng into a ‘nothing burger’ here.

I may have to tune in to mainland TV to watch Florence now to get my hurricane excitement…. cuz there ain’t none here!  🙂

Local ham radio friend tells of his neighbor who left for vacation to visit family two days ago…. going to North Carolina to escape Olivia here.  I guess they didn’t check the mainland weather forecast, as now they are trapped in Florence.   This should answer the question “Where do people from Hawaii go for vacation?” in a thoroughly ironic way.
