In 1967 the average rent was 125 a month.
I remember my mom saying you shouldn’t spend more than a weeks pay for housing and starting out at minimum wage I’m thinking yeas if you want to live in the ghetto.
At 1.40 a hour that’s only at 40 hours
A week 56 dollars before taxes.
That means in 1967 you’d still not making enough for that 125 a month average apt. It’s costs are more that two weeks pay minus work expenses and taxes.
So housing costs have always been a issue in our working years for minimum wage but just getting worse to the point of unaffordable I’m some areas.
Given there are other issues too like gas which has a effect on other consumer costs but can be controlled to a point anyways where housing cost can’t be cut down on. Sometime that control can be dangerous. My youngest daughter bought a motorcycle for instance as fun but cheaper on gas. While pregnant with her while driving a bike a guy turning was looking the other way turning ran right into me. I quickly stood up on the bike and jumped on impact putting me on the hood of his truck escaped with bruises but the bike got crunched. Her dad riding s bigger one a Harley got hit wound up breaking all the bones in his legs and feet. So I worry. Same with those forced to live in higher crime areas.

PS They May Be Bringing Jobs Back BECAUSE of all the Immigrants.

When I got out of high school, the minimum wage was $1.40/hr. ($26 in todays money) It didn’t matter if you were a man or a woman. t didn’t matter if you flipped burgers at McDonalds or worked hard for the electric company. My friend Steve started a $1.40 as a starter lineman. I was unloading and stocking stuff at the plumbing supply near by, same wage.

Shortly after I landed a union job in manufacturing making $2.40/hr. I was SWIMMING in money. My bottom line for the entire artificial system is the starter wages are too low FOR this artificial system. They established a standard wage in 1937 but neglected to up grade it with the cost of living. same with Social Security.

Globally, society gov’t and businesses HAVE to put an “artificially” higher “value” on starting wages where they are EARNED. Not a blanket national all state number. The “cost” of labor should be no different than car insurance prices or electric prices. Different in every county. You HAVE to pay the COST is in that area.

If Joe Sixpack needs $1400/mo for an apartment, he needs $1400/week. $600/mo $600/week etc to live modestly. You seem to be describing what is. The problems and symptoms and complaints, and why this and why that.

I’m describing what WAS, and how to get back there, problem solving.

It does not believe all men ” or woman ” are created equal with equal rights.
Their religion is there politics where ours there is a separation of religion and politics.
For that reason the oath should be taken on our constitution and a oath that acknowledges that you swear to abide by our constitution or be impeached. That your either interpret the law based on the constitution or you don’t qualify for the job.
Other wise taking the oath on a bible if your not a Christian means nothing especially since much of the constitution reflects on Judeo and Christians even American Indian and what made America great in the first place.

Higher paying jobs were usually” male dominated ” for right out of high school jobs. They were blue collar while pink or purple or grey where physical required collar were considered a second income as a “excuse” for paying lower wages.
They were the mill jobs, the factory jobs, mechanic jobs, the construction jobs, even real estate or police and fire, oil field , fishing, maintenance, waste disposal, instillation and other physical work. Many of those jobs are gone, depleted, or taken over given to illegals.
Now the blue collar is dealing with the same wage cheating as the pink collar has been suffering while doing the same amount of work just different with for decades. For many woman nothing new to them with low wages while company getting rich other than it stole their right or choice to stay home with the kids because now they really need a second income or with the increasing rate of single parents or just staying single , only income.
It’s not just wages, the greed of other things shouldn’t shift the blame on just employers to make up the difference to their greed.
Why for instance should you pay 250 thousand or for a 950 square foot house in some cities or more? Why in those same cities should you pay 1200-1600 month for a 750 sq ft apt??!!! That’s greed and no attention to it just shifted to wages.
When will attention to it start? When it’ 2000 a month and homelessness is more fashionable then buying or renting??!!
Not to mention taxes, cable and utilities going up??
If it’s about population why aren’t they doing anything about lowering immigration numbers?
It’s al about the stock market investors ignoring the problem THEY’RE creating.

So it doesn’t matter if gold is up or down a few bucks either way just if Jung is down 3-8% at the same time. And I thought I used to watch this stuff close. But but ., then I used to watch a lot of stuff at the same time lol It was fun but after the last slow takes down it stopped being fun it would of been easier to just go short and forgetabout it which was something I didn’t think wise to chance usually but that was like a KFS given but still didn’t do it. Now it’s worse, not going in a straight line but shake outs either way.

If Consumer Spending Is 70% of the Economy? A Higher Stock Market and or Real Estate Market Won’t Help Highschool Graduates

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 12:06 on September 10, 2018

A Higher Stock Market and or Real Estate Market Won’t Help Highschool Graduates 18 years old get higher starting pay and contribute to the economy. These are the ONLY people that need things because they already have nothing.

Real estate and stock and bond market owners already HAVE everything they need. They won’t be spending much into the economy. In fact, most of them just keep adding funds into their Stock Market and or Real Estate Market investments. Eh??

If I know this TPTB should know this. And if they do know this (higher starting wage needed) and not doing anything about it? That means the “boss” is TPTB, and he’s greedy cheap skate. Or has a business model that only works for below value wages.

If they don’t know what I know? That would be hard to believe and they should get another job.

A repost:Here and all over the internet, they say there will never be another stock crash as long as CBs can create money out of thin air….well, it’s true

Yes, it is seemingly the same pattern everyday. The metals are strong overnight, open on their highs and then sell off. It’s almost as if the knowledge that the algobots are in control is equivalent to the “Bernanke ( or Yellen) put”, when it comes to equities.

Its almost a subconscious thought on money managers minds that any downside blip will be met with intervention and manipulation. What can be done about changing this pattern? I don’t have the answer, although I do think it will take some sort of monumental breach of trust in our government and what it stands for.

I can’t believe the JNUG sept 21 $7.50 call is selling for .25–all volatilty has been wrung out of PM stocks and ETFs

as usual – no help.

R640 – interesting about Sept. – I remember back in the days when Aug./ Sept./ Oct. were always rocky for stocks. Seems it hasn’t been that way for quite a few years.

I guess one thing to look for is days that open higher and then fail.

Posted by Richard640 @ 9:47 on September 10, 2018

September has historically been the most volatile month of the year for stocks. Equity investors who are wary of any further swings can look to alternative ETF strategies to limit the potential risks.

According to data from “Stock Trader’s Almanac,” the month of September has been the worst performing month of the year for the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 since 1950, the worst for the Nasdaq since 1971, and the most difficult for the Russell 1000 and Russell 2000 since 1979, CNBC reports.

Good Times…
My son wanted to know why it is that Venezuela (a topic that gets discussed around the dinner table at home) chose such painfully, obviously asinine policies.

After much thought I explained it thus.
I’d seen it before somewhere and so I dug it up. Here it is in a different form.
We bipeds don’t change. I’ve come to realise not to fight it, just see it for what it is and make sure you’re positioned accordingly…for your friends family and those you care about.

Speaking of which you should consider joining our family.

No special offers, no steak knives, no wild ridiculous promises – simply rational analysis and positioning for a macro world we’ve never encountered before.

EVER!

That’s both exciting and terrifying at the same time.

And credit default swaps got a rise that even an old guy overdosing on pills that rhyme with Niagra would have been proud of.
