Commenting on the statement, Bloomberg macro analyst Stephen Kirkland said that it signals he’s sticking to a nationalist message and is uninclined to deliver the hard measures Turkish assets need, which according to some analysts such as ADM’s Marc Ostwald include a 500 bps rate hike and an IMF bailout. As a result, option markets are now pricing in a one-in-five chance of USD/TRY reaching 7 per dollar in a month, from about 1% probability yesterday.
For the Turkey watchers, here is today’s key sequence of events, all times London:
- 12.00BST: President Erdogan to speak
- 12.30BST: Finance Minister Albayrak announces new economic model
- 14.30BST: President Erdogan to speak again
And as fears of contagion mounted, the EURUSD tumbled to the lowest level in a year, running stops as it broke below the barrier level of 1.15…
… as the DXY spiked to YTD highs amid a broad flight to safety with the USD bid seen across all pairs. The scramble for safety meant that both USTs and bunds rallied however in a more contained manner and the 10Y bund yields were lower by ~3.5bps.

Yeah, it has a shutoff valve, and I normally do that. But I picked this up (well used) at a swap meet some months ago. It test ran OK for quite some time back then, and the generator electrical was in good shape, so I picked it up cheap and put it in the shed with the best intentions for ‘later’. So when the hurricane comes, I think about testing out the genny and it dies. Inspected the gas and it was cloudy! So the gas line got disconnected and tank drained and flushed with new gas to get the crap out. It was ugly. And it will start and fire with the first pull, then dies of starvation again. So I will let the dealer service take care of it.
So what do you do with dirty gas? I find it makes a great weed killer along the jungle fence line. 🙂

Grandsons 6 th Birthday turning into a eagle, wanted to go with is cousin and friends. Aunt and Uncle cheering him on while I took pics. He went up four times in all. First and last time pics. Total trust with his instructor. Now he wants to go all the time. Good bday gift if you have them near you.

Get a shut off valve and mount it between your fuel tank and carb if gravity fed. The next time you start it, shut the valve and let it continue running until the fuel starves it out. The old gasoline evaporating in the carb is probably the problem.

Disappointing that the shares lost their gains but considering the USD strength it could be a lot worse than it is.
The USD is crushing virtually every currency around the globe.
Can’t be good for our exports, makes me wonder when/if the US decides to devalue.

Grandson having a birthday next week but because of school starting had to set him a appt for mock skydiving at Ifly. Now my youngest who’s birthday is today but celebrating on turning 6 and he and his mom found out about it so he being athletic wants to go to so had to set up another appt. 6 yr old going skydiving. Takes after his grandma. Hope they hold on to him, can’t see kids that young remembering instruction when they get excited. Simple as they are they’ll have to keep their hands up to eye level head up and feet back but guess in that fan they’ll just drop down. Haven’t seen it yet but should be interesting.

History repeats looking back in 68 and things like the peaceful protestors were attacked at Democratic Convention how many there now work in Gov now?
The Demos had blood on their hands then and now getting worse. Same division but this time using gullible nazi citizens calling others Nazis and even immigrants because they can’t use the police this time to attack and threaten.
Like the Demos then closed down things making it inhospitable for the groups they didn’t like now telling people to follow the Repub around harass them. Like then they wanted war but treated their vets like blank and switched the blame on them getting the focus on the politicians doing it. Now it looks like maybe they have their eyes on Russia.

You must be missing the latest scam. All you do is get some crooked roofer up on your roof and pretend it’s hail damage. And you go nail your homeowner policy and you make those turds pay for it. Insurance companies here in Colorado dole out billions of dollars for free roofs every year and they make jackasses like me pay for it. You got to work the scam. I hate insurance companies screw um. Just remember that insurance is only as good as your last payment.
