The big and relentless GLD & SLV call buying comes from hedge funds who have been sold the false notion that this brand of stupidity is a hedge for their broad market exposures. There are a bunch of ‘experts’ out there selling this crap, and Butler is one of them.

That’s why we need a broad market crash to show these knuckleheads this is not the case. Then the funds stop playing the calls, and voila, a lasting rally ensues once the gambler / sentiment baffles are cleared.

In process now. It’s coming.

Capitulation is on the way.

Cheers

Buygold-I remember a few months ago there were great COTs one Friday and nothing ever came from it…

Posted by Richard640 @ 9:30 on August 13, 2018

Then and like this weekend, there were many articles by the likes of Sirocco and Rubino declaring that a bull move was about to start…

SLV is truly a mystery–the massive call buying and massive call open interest in all months and many strikes has been going on forever–I asked Ted Butler about it–but he had no explanation…

Actually the COT for silver, which is the price managers whipping boy, is bearish. Add in the same situation in the ETF betting parlors, and voila, you have a ‘surprise’ this morning for the naive.

Have you seen the open interest put/call ratios on GLD and SLV? They are .3 – meaning three times the number of calls exist.

Can the few pay the many?

No — right.

So you should know what will happen going into ETF options expiry this Friday.

The good news is the producers are being put out of business at these prices, which will eventually cause a profound and lasting physical shortage the assholes won’t be able to hide with paper.

When?

Your guess is as good as mine.

Cheers

So much for the COT’s

Let’s not forget the “Patriot Act” of 9/11 that was anything BUT ‘patriotic’.

The FED reports “consumer credit”… which is actually consumer DEBT on their credit cards.

It seems to be a habitual pasttime of politicians to disguise what they are doing with names of ‘acts’ that are the opposite of what they really do.

‘Social Security’ ?  🙂

Central ‘Intelligence’ Agency….  is there intelligence in DC??

“No-Fault” auto insurance in Hawaii is more like ‘all-fault’ when you file a claim… you need a lawyer.

Just goes to show you America is great ” the people” it’s the swamp who run it aren’t to great. Every time they work to recouperate from their screw ups they try to take the credit then turn around and mess things up again. Carrear politics like giving a carrear bank robber a job as a teller in a bank.

…..in the spirit of gold shenanigans,

Today’s word is … Fluctuations (I will never hear or see this word again without thinking of this joke.)
I was at my bank today; there was a short queue.
There was just one lady in front of me, an Asian lady who was trying to exchange yen for dollars.
It was obvious she was very irritated ..
She asked the teller, “Why it change? Yesterday, I get two hunat dolla fo yen. Today I only get hunat eighty?
Why it change?”
The teller shrugged his shoulders and said,”Fluctuations.”
The Asian lady says, “Fluc you white people too!”

The USA Freedom Act ( only gave gov’t agencies the freedom to spy on all citizens )

Re Wall Street not looking good. This fits with my thinking. Assuming the Stock Market is a barometer for the economy, or a leading indicator. It has been my opinion that a serious recession stared before the March 00 sm peak.

Because of the sm collapse, (in ’00) the Fed pushed the interest rates down to 46 year lows (and created a real estate boom into 2008) which camouflaged the entire situation. All they did was put it off. The Novocain is wearing off now.

They were trying to fool Mother Nature, and the invisible hand at the same time. Similar to terminology “fake it in” used in a prototype model shop, (one piece job) that has to go through inspection, but the damn hole diameter is OUT of tolerances.

The procedure is called “fake it in”, to fool the inspector. 🙂

A simple example: A slightly over size hole? You put a ball bearing larger than the hole, on top, and put pressure on the ball, until only the EDGE of the hole gets smaller. 🙂

When the inspector checks the hole size, he gets fooled.

Regarding the US only, this is NOT a normal recession.

This is the end result of numerous US businesses that disappeared, and native industries that got transplanted to other countries throughout the “world community” via rigged currency exchange rates.

It’s like….If you smoke 3 packs a day, for 30 years, you can’t expect NOTHING to happen.

Well? It’s the same thing with the US economy. You can’t have thirty years of trade deficits, and expect NOTHING to happen. If our representatives didn’t know this, they are unqualified or paid off, or are wimps and got their arm twisted to comply. (deficits still going 13 years later 2018 from ’05)

I saw all this coming 30 years ago, and I’m not surprised it took so long to ripen, with all the “faking in” they’ve been doing all these decades, as the idiots gave away the store for the greater good?

Beware Of Misleading Terminology From The Fake News Media.

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 17:53 on August 12, 2018

The Media constantly implies a strong currency is a GOOD thing. And a weak currency is a BAD thing. Below a Post, a collection of B/S terminology from April 2003.

Anybody notice how they make things sound better on the news?

“Lots of money on the side-lines” How about, lots of DEBT on the sidelines?

Another one, “double dip” recession, are they trying to remind us of an ice cream cone, while talking about a bad economy?

How about “sub prime loans” instead of risky-dead beat loans. Why is the word ‘prime’ there? To remind us of steak?

Even the word “inflation” to make it sound like something is getting bigger instead of saying the dollar getting smaller.

I would love to meet the people who are paid to come up with miss-leading terminology. Why don’t they speak English?

@CNBC, Why don’t you guys speak English

(Mr.Copper) Oct 27, 12:29

I’m starting a collection of evasive, miss leading, ridiculous, sugar coated, terminology heard on the media.

If you guys can think of any others, please let me know.

#1 “double dip”

#2 “stealth bull market”

#3 “non-performing” (loans.)

#4 “sub-prime” (borrowers.)

#5 “accounting irregularities”

#6 “creative financing”

#7 “cook the books”

#8 “corporate shenanigans”

#9 “pro-forma earnings”

#10 “market-disconnect”

#11 “pre-rally decline”

#12 “negative growth”

#13 “negative outlays”

#14 “growth recession”

#15 “Paralysis by analysis”

#16 “chapter 11” (s/b xyz corp, is not paying their bills is better)

#17 “relief rally” (s/b dead cat bounce)

#18 “economic soft spot” New 11/14/02 posted

#18 “Waning optimism”   New 3/4/03

What Is Wrong With A Currency That Crashes? Against Other Currencies?

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 17:22 on August 12, 2018

In my view, it simply makes IMPORTS a lot more expensive. Its like putting a huge tariff on any and all imports. Naturally its bad if the country can’t produce its own food or fuel. And has to import it. But if all other imported consumer products can be produced at home, it would create production jobs at home, and FAR less jobs in the countries that export to Turkey.

I myself? Would love to see the dollar crash against all currencies. We can produce all our needs here. Imagine a $90,000 Honda or $150,000 BMW? Americans won’t buy them. Money stays home.

Especially a drop against the Chinese Yuan would be the greatest thing for America. But that can’t happen because Dopey/Dollar and Greedy/Yuan are pegged to a very narrow “façade” movement against each other.

LOL – Hope plan B or C is backing the Lira with gold!! You’re susceptible if all ya got is fiat

Nothing good about Obama except with some minorities just because he is one. Same with Moochele. Instead of acting like a roll model and telling young blacks what they can achieve they just bitched and complained about race. Never mind it was the majority whites that voted for him who where gullible enough to think he would bring change” for the better” but just another corrupt puppet who hates our country and promoter of the Jv guys. The young actually thought it was Biblicle in the sense they called him the Antichrist. I told them not to give him that much credit. You might bring up he hates European culture wants to bring it all down. It has to do with Africa and colonies as some of the things the Brits did a long time ago and others and wanting to destroy colonies which means civilized countries. Then turn them into what?

Now they are making news about themselves or interjecting themselves in the story. I like Fox will not watch the others fake news or Hide the news like about Korea and the remains of our soilders coming back after over 60 years while they let a Korean immigrant in NY Times print hateful stuff about Americans. They should make it Only NY Times. Too bad Italy can’t head those cargo ships of illegals to them then wall them off.
But.. I don’t remember in the 60s and correct me if I’m wrong Walter Cronkite sp? or any others selling books on news time and I like Fox just don’t like them putting up parts of the others fake news because there’s a reason we don’t watch these compulsive liars although I do I understand why. One show said they wouldn’t know who Acosta was or care but he made the news about himself. Hes rude and nobody really cares what he thinks. They care about our President so he’s making a ass himself,

Ya know gang, all is gloom & doom on gold…so I’ll just post perma-bull John Rubino’s article-maybe he’ll be right for a change…

We very likely do not have much time left before Stockman’s predicted Great Reset begins.

As he puts it himself:

You would think by now that the big thinkers and strategists of Wall Street would get the joke. Trump’s election was always a dagger aimed squarely at the egregious financial bubbles on Wall Street that have been building for 30 years at the expense of a stagnant main street economy.

And now [America’s] no-holds barred pursuit of Trade Wars and Fiscal Debauch have guaranteed that the day of reckoning is at hand.

In fact, it may be only days away. And this chart from the final days of the dotcom bubble may be a pretty serviceable roadmap as to why and when.
