What’s Stockman got against Argentina’s 100 year bond? That’s a sure winner!

(obvious sarcasm)

Bonus Question:

How many times will Argentina default in 100 years? How bout the USA?

P.S.–Apple just announced a huge share buy back-THAT’S!! where the tax break/repatriation break money is going

DAVID STOCKMAN

In fact, the Ian Shepherdsons of the world are just the auxiliary posse of the Keynesian PhDs and apparatchiks who run the Fed and other central banks based on the same anti-market arrogance.

They have spent the last 10 years blocking, nullifying and suffocating market forces in the financial system. So doing, they have drastically falsified any and all financial asset prices—from overnight carry trade money, to the FAANG stocks, the 10-year UST, shale-patch junk bonds and the 100-year debt issued by Argentina (of all places) last June, among countless others.

The result is a financial system fraught with incendiary bubbles, excesses and booby-traps, such as the hundreds of billion of ticking time-bombs in the risk parity trades or in the momo roach motels of the stock market like Amazon, Netflix or highflyers in the tech space like Nvidia and Broadcom. During the last 5 years, the latter two have posted 17X and 12X gains in market cap, respectively, compared to net income growth of just 5X and 4X.

Moreover, these distortions and metastases have spilled over into the real economy big time.

The Fed’s Bubble Finance regime on Wall Street, in fact, is a predator on main street. It incentivizes the corporate C-suites to strip-mine cash flows and balance sheets in order to fund massive financial engineering maneuvers, thereby shrinking investments in productive assets, new products, more efficient and skilled employees and other entrepreneurial ingredients of capitalist growth.

Well said. They’re turning it into a banana republic. I wonder what would happen to Schumer if he tried that in Israel and why would they trust him either. He’s a opportunist not qualified to run a bubble gum machine without the money missing.
The only solution I can see is a congress that isn’t for sale, has a moral standard and change the laws. Not just lawyers and bankers working for themselves to wheel and deal our country away for personal profit. That book by Al Franken was eye opening of who they put in charge of what and why.
Congress could of changed the laws along time ago.
I don’t think that will happen until they’re made to make it happen and even that probably won’t happen until we have a economic implosion or revolt and these people who pay high taxes will either walk away or their front yard will be filled with homeless who also walked away from the system not to mention all the illegal immigrants lol or both.
Democrat voters with dependency issues actually think the gov cares about them.

South African lawyer expects to sign gold miners’ silicosis settlement Thursday

Posted by ipso facto @ 9:50 on May 2, 2018

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) – A lawyer acting for nearly half a million miners who contracted fatal lung diseases silicosis and tuberculosis in mines said an out-of-court settlement was expected to be signed on Thursday with those gold companies implicated in the issue.

The High Court in 2016 set the stage for protracted proceedings on cases dating back decades in the largest class action suit yet in Africa’s most industrialized country.

“Barring unforeseen circumstances, we expect to sign the silicosis agreement with the gold industry tomorrow (Thursday),” Richard Spoor told Reuters on Wednesday.

are most democrats–martial law needs to be imposed…but very carefully…or else we’re going to end up with our own red guard youth brigades going around and forcing home owners with extra bedrooms to let immigrant families live in their homes…and many more horrors of that kind….

How in the world did home ownership in this country become  a crimes punishable by 20 or 30 thousand a year taxes…and in some communities much higher?  also how did college tuition become a wall st racket saddling our youth with 150K debt upon graduation

It all happened because of wall st and the bankers and the financialization of the economy…and “free trade” starting in the 1960s when our factories closed and production was shipped to countries with a $2 a day wage…and there were no tariffs imposed on the goods shipped back here–I see no good solution, do u? If we kill or imprison or deport all the Joo bankers, there will be plenty of non-Joo bankers to take their place…besides, the whole world has adopted the american model of finacialization–I have no solution-do u?

What’s Shakin’ ?

Posted by Maya @ 3:00 on May 2, 2018

Kilauea Volcano, that’s what is shakin’.  With the volcano holding at high inflation, today the crater floor at Pu’u O’o  above Kalapana collapsed and the tilt-meters went off as the east rift zone deformed.  Earthquake swarms all over the east rift and to the south.   Looks as though the volcano is ‘stretching’ and could have a new eruption breakout just about anywhere along the east rift.   Screenshot of the EQ activity.  Orange dots are the last 24 hrs… red is last hour.    I’m well north of the rift ridge and not in any immediate danger.  Wouldn’t want to be sleeping anywhere down in lower Puna, though!

I understand why Israel cannot support every refugee. Can you answer why we have people like Schumer who claims he’s chosen from God to protect Israel but will allow a invasion of immigrants into this country, sanctuary cities and not vote for a wall to protect our citizens including from over population by those gaming the system not even refugees? If we do it they call us racist, if Israel does it it’s a different story because it’s always the right thing to do. Not saying it isn’t but the double standard doesn’t belong here.
He’s disrespecting and turning on the children of the ansstors of a country who saved his ass the Israelites, who can trust that? Ha we don’t need you anymore we can do what we want attitude in some. Okay so be it but don’t draw us in it next time. We have our own borders and security to worry about no thanks to people like Schumer who’d a self proclaimed how you say antiseminite promoter. Does a better job than the Muslims.
I can see there will be no end to Muslims vs Jewish. What do you think will happen?

From a ZH reader

The Korean War is endable, since there is no fundamental reason it must continue, and big powers (i.e. China) have an interest in ending it.

The war btw Israel and the Muslims, and Muslims with each-other is not endable, since these conflicts are driven by fundamentals. People are governed by emotions, and religious identity governs emotions. (1) The Muslims MUST eradicate Israel since it is a beachhead in their territory. (2) The Muslims are dramatically overpopulated in a land that is already far beyond its natural carrying capacity. If it wasn’t for international welfare, the Palestinians would already be dead, since Gaza and the West Bank deserts cannot support them, and they have nothing of value to export. Iran is overpopulated, so is Egypt, so is Turkey. Without gifts from countries with oil money, the Egyptians would starve to death. Excessive populations combined with depleting oil resources in a mostly desert land is a natural powder keg. The Middle East is guaranteed to explode.

Israel has a lot of africain refugees-they were well treated but entered illegally and had to leave

It’s a small country and cannot acommodate the millions that would like to come there from africa-europe and the arab countries-a lot of people from the phillipines and eastern europe come there to work–from a security standpoint they certainly can’t acommodate 1000s or millions of muslims–america deports over 300K hispanics a year…

america and europe did not understand that many countries–due to the many factions/tribes/sects–like the arab countries or yugoslavia under TITO,  needed a STRONG MAN to keep everybody in line–in arab countries the strong man also brutally repressed the muslim fanatics and kept their countries on the secular side–the shah of iran is another example…i just don’t understand how u connect christians in syria  and israel helping them…i am sure if they tried to seek refuge in israel, israel would have given them safe haven…but i don’t know of any great number of them trying to get into israel…do you?

How many Syrian Christians were taken in by Israel? ZERO

Assad was the protector of Syrian Christians. His country was fine before the US/UK/Israeli supported rebels/ISIS tried to overthrow his government.

Good God, do all of the American public believe the bullshit? I hope not.

Hope Trump is not owned like the rest of the US Govt

Why Is Israel Desperate To Escalate Syrian Conflict?

After seven years of utter devastation and bloodletting, a consensus has emerged among all the belligerents of the Syrian war to de-escalate the conflict, except Israel which wants to further escalate the conflict because it has been the only beneficiary of the carnage in Syria…

“Thus, Donald Trump is fully aware that the conflict in Syria is a proxy war initiated by the Western political establishments and their regional Middle Eastern allies against the Syrian government. He is also mindful of the fact that militants have been funded, trained and armed in the training camps located in Turkey’s border regions to the north of Syria and in Jordan’s border regions to the south of Syria.”

“More significantly, Karen De Young and Liz Sly made another startling revelation in the last year’s March 4 article for the Washington Post: “Trump has said repeatedly that the US and Russia should cooperate against the Islamic State, and he has indicated that the future of Russia-backed Assad is of less concern to him.”

Mindful of the Trump administration’s lack of commitment in the Syrian proxy war, Israel’s air force conducted an airstrike on Tiyas (T4) airbase in Homs on April 9 in which seven Iranian military personnel were killed. The Israeli airstrike took place after the alleged chemical weapons attack in Douma on April 7 in order to convince the reluctant Trump administration that it can order another strike in Syria without the fear of reprisal from Assad’s backer Russia.”
