Loading ...Kilauea Volcano, that’s what is shakin’. With the volcano holding at high inflation, today the crater floor at Pu’u O’o above Kalapana collapsed and the tilt-meters went off as the east rift zone deformed. Earthquake swarms all over the east rift and to the south. Looks as though the volcano is ‘stretching’ and could have a new eruption breakout just about anywhere along the east rift. Screenshot of the EQ activity. Orange dots are the last 24 hrs… red is last hour. I’m well north of the rift ridge and not in any immediate danger. Wouldn’t want to be sleeping anywhere down in lower Puna, though!
