Israel Launches Air Strike On Iran Base Near Damascus

An Israeli air strike targeted a Syrian army position in the Al-Kissweh area south of Damascus on Tuesday but caused no casualties.

President Donald Trump’s decision to pull the US out of the Iranian nuclear deal is illegal, illegitimate and violates international agreements, said Iranian president Hassan Rouhani in a televised address.

Rouhani said that Iran has always complied with the nuclear deal and is going to stay in the accord despite the US pullout. The Iranian Foreign Ministry was instructed to hold talks on the nuclear deal with the EU, Russia and China within the next few weeks.

“If we achieve the deal’s goals in cooperation with other members of the deal, it will remain in place… By exiting the deal, America has officially undermined its commitment to an international treaty,” Rouhani said.

Yes I remember and a lot from that era preach the same today. So much to church” of choice ” so much savings, only so much goes to rent or house, ect. Not anymore. Different times.

My guess is that threat of war will drive up dollar at first anyways as country’s where their currency may be threat ie like Zimbabwe or Venezuela will run to at first. I’m glad to hear it. Taking out the human in non emergency situations would be safer. I never hear of what happens to these engineers that screw up so badly. Going around a curve at 80 instead of 30? Ps Keep a eye on the Fed with its interest rate increase news every time gold goes up in earnest in attempt to knock it down again. They even consider pay raises as inflation. Trump was smart in giving tax breaks promoting jobs rather than pay raises he leaves to the descression of the businesses. Not all used it to pay the workers better, that’s why so many outsourced in the first place. They gotta worry more about what the board members on their stocks want than the actual producers who make them their money.

Pretty much exist right now.  The system is called PTC…. Positive Train Control.  It has been in existence for quite some time, but railroads are slow to implement it in all areas and locomotives.  Recent hi-profile passenger accidents have hastened it’s installation on all passenger routes, at least.  The locomotive has in-cab signalling and limits the speed in restricted areas automatically if the engineer does not do so.  It was being installed but not complete yet on the new line in Tacoma when the first train went off the bridge on the sharp curve up in your neck of the PNW.

We will still need engineers in the cab to watch out for obstructions like idiots trying to beat the train at a road crossing, though.

BTW ‘our’ local volcano in Colombia was responsible for the second worst volcanic related death toll in the 20th century – the Armero event in 1985 , in which over 20 000 lost their lives as a lahar rushed down several valleys around the Nevado del Ruiz , including the one leading to Armero , a town of 29 000 residents , of which over 2/3’s were lost . Our town is over a mountain ridge from that volcano , so aside from a few temblors , we have no worries .
