After touching $5k it has sagged considerably back to the $4100 range and looking weak. Looks like I got out at a good time.

“Do you actually need firewood in Florida? ”
when some people think of florida they see miami beach with bimbos in bikinis, coconut palms in the background. maybe two percent of florida is like that. …some of the time.

Hopefully it will go north and out to sea but it looks now it’s heading straight by to the islands and probably brush by the Keys. There is something people missed in the Galatic plane. It didn’t mean the end of the world but we’re going around again. That to me means what ever the stars had in store along the way we’re going back. If we look back in time the earth has been through a lot of things and some related to space. There’s a reason we were all one type blood at one time Type O and why they are the universal doner. People back then survived though some real catastrophes even radiation which could of caused the changes. Mass fires from celestial showers to giant tsunamis. We may not of been even here yet during some of them like the one that wiped out the dinosaurs and other species along the way but we will ” maybe if man doesn’t kill him self” be there next time.
Do you actually need firewood in Florida?

goldie,
haven’t got rid of the oak tree, but it has been bucked and stacked. that’s the two year supply of red oak firewood.

Most Floridians are troopers when it comes to hurricanes. The thing is so many come their way it’s hard to get serious till it gets close and it increases in size and or because they move around not sure where it’s gonna land. Harder to prepare for flooding though unlike quakes because storage underwater or floating out to sea will do little good if close enough to surge. Looks like your in a safe spot except maybe for falling trees lol Did you ever get rid of your Oak tree? I got my grandson a store type tire swing to put on the swing set and his dad moved it to a oak tree. Now I’m just hoping it’s steady cuz the oak trees here aren’t hollow. He said something about bracing it but didn’t see that although he’s got it attached somehow to two big branches. Funny I didn’t worry about falling branches when younger but do now.

“does anybody else build pantries?”
Living in the mountains as I do, some years ago I had a storage room built, 26′ by 10′ that is attached to my residence. It is packed with the necessaries for survival. In addition I have hundreds of books and more yarn for knitting and crochet projects than I will be able to use in my lifetime…for personal entertainment.
I hope Irma blows out to sea.

i’ve been living through florida’s hurricanes since 1944. i live in the inside corner of the gulf coast, 40 miles from the beach, on high ground (110′ elevation is high ground for the gulf coast. houston city hall is 47′ – the highest point in town.). i built my house in the old time tested southern way, four feet above the ground on piers.
there are about a month worth of canned goods on hand, then a year or more of beans – rice – pasta – peanut butter – honey and other long storage stuff. if i run out of that, there’s the greenhouse and garden to replenish supplies.
i have two 300 gallon bulk tanks for gasoline, and fifty or sixty gallons of bottled drinking water. then, it’s the 500 gallon rain catchment. a couple of generators, a butane camp stove (only a couple dozen cartridges), a wood burning cookstove, and enough red oak firewood for a couple years. (cooking and heating the house)
it’s not that i’m prepared for irma, it’s just that i live in the country, and there isn’t a grocery store just down the street. over the years, i’ve learned to be prepared. when i built my house, i built a big pantry. does anybody else build pantries anymore?

Yeah it will if your not insured. You wont have to evacuate and will need to stay by your home or could be looted and fast. You can pitch up a tent if it’s not safe to be inside. Make sure you turn off the gas and have a wrench. If you strongly feel one maybe get quake insurance. In Sylmar a lot of people had to give us their homes because they had no quake insurance. In disasters it would be nice one if their forgiven their loan two if they can renovate and start over with some sort of gov loan that isn’t taking advantage. Also maybe order a water purifier. If the first killer doesn’t get you the second, disease can.

the attacks have already started. I’d bet Farmboy’s new patio that they will crush gold overnight tonight and tomorrow.
Clearly, gold backed Yuan for oil is meaningless.

The birds are now gone. If things hold true then we’ll have an earthquake in the next few hours. We’ll see.
In addition, we are under full smoky skies, mostly from fires in Montana but also apparently starting here now.
I don’t like the fear porn either, not one bit. I’ll tell you this though, if a large earthquake hits, it will feel like the apocalypse.

I agree with fear mongering. Politicians do it all the time to get people to submit to something that either steals their money or their rights and the sheep just follow along. But I’ve never seen so many quakes in Buygolds state. Very strange.

So you weren’t exhaguratimg when you said like The Birds. The quakes and that many are a concern. The ring of fire usually doesn’t bother this coast too much until winter which is strange your getting all these quakes mid summer. The fact that the birds are moving inland toward it or seemingly so is what’s weird. Less something’s going in somewhere else or a whole lotta fracking going on. Doesn’t explain the gulls, I don’t remember seeing gulls in Yellowstone. Is anyone looking for answers? I have to disagree with Treefrog if it is a big explosion with that site saying it could destroy anything 1000 miles away. If it is abig one and you have time maybe best to head to Oregon first then down if not in lower part of your state. If coming from the ocean best to avoid both Oregon and Calif lol

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected death of the popular and well loved Dr. Thomas Fay of Encinitas, California (near San Diego in Southern California).
Dr. Thomas Fay, ND, went to one of the most highly praised Universities in the nation, where some of our friends had graduated as well (we had many in common). According to his Facebook page, he was outspoken about chemtrails, SandyHook, gun control and much more.

Of course good points. No expectation Yellowstone is going to blow. Last time was 600K years ago.
Indeed, fear porn everywhere.
I will say this. I am here, and everything about the weather, the birds, the recent earthquakes, etc., is unusual.

Yes, surprised the dogs aren’t going nuts too, although my experience with them is that they wouldn’t start to get weird more than a half hour before a quake.
That being said, there are thousands of seagulls, not just a few. I’ve seen Seagulls here before, but just not this many and certainly not freaking out.
I guess we’ll see what happens in a few hours… 🙂

there has been a lot of fear porn about the yellowstone caldera in the media lately. …and here at the oasis .
yes, yellowstone sits above a “hot spot” or magma plume.
yes, it blows up from time to time. about once every million years. it “could” blow this year. – but figure the odds.
yes, when it blows, sometimes it blows up big time, spreading ash and devastation for several hundred miles. the word to watch is the “sometimes.” this hotspot has erupted many hundreds of times. the news and the fear porn likes to focus on the biggest, most scary events. historically, the vast majority of eruptions have been smaller. think mount st. helens. it’s a bitch if you’re ten or fifteen miles downwind, but fifty miles away, you’ll hear about it on the news.
if you like having ulcers, yellowstone’s as good a thing to worry about as anything. if you don’t like ulcers and worry, kick back, have a nice cool adult beverage, and enjoy labor day.
