Use Amazon Prime ($10 a month) and Sling ($20 a month) for video, you’re crazy and missing the wave if not. Supplement local stations in HD with an antenna. If there’s any statue they should take down it should be the one in NY of a Dr Sims who used black slaves to conduct medical experiments of slave women without anesthesia to promote his own carrear. If they keep it up with a note on it as a example because there are still doctors like that out there. In a war withought restraints they would have a field day. He did fix the black women fissures but at a cost of torture he was quite aware of their suffering but did it anyways which was unessary unless your a sadistic monster. In those days husbands could take their wives to doctors without their permission and he got them too. They preformed back then ignorant surgeries in these women ie remove ovaries related to what they called hysteria or whatever which is avoided today if possible as I don’t know if they had hormone replacement then. I have cable internet out in the boonies… (Surprise). I hear the satellite delivery is a bit cheaper… but less reliable. Anyway, I opted NOT to take the cable-supplied modem/router. I just rebel against paying 10-15 bux a month for the cheapest mass-purchased box that cable supplies. For the price of ten months rental from the cable company I bought my own, top line cable modem and gave the installer tech the numbers. He was impressed by my choice. “Those things work great!”
I have a ham radio friend who has a ‘cabin’ down by the volcano where there is no cell service. He has a ham radio link to his condo in Kona that is data interfaced to the ‘net, so he can at least connect to email via ham radio at his cabin… all off-grid solar powered.

I was never that sure about the military industrial complex and it’s supposed power….but I have to say it’s reaction to Trump’s election and the idea that taxpayers should have any say over what their taxes are spent on, is fast disappearing.

Hackers have discovered that one of the most central elements of online security — the mobile phone number — is also one of the easiest to steal.
In a growing number of online attacks, hackers have been calling up Verizon, T-Mobile U.S., Sprint and AT&T and asking them to transfer control of a victim’s phone number to a device under the control of the hackers.
Once they get control of the phone number, they can reset the passwords on every account that uses the phone number as a security backup — as services like Google, Twitter and Facebook suggest.
“My iPad restarted, my phone restarted and my computer restarted, and that’s when I got the cold sweat and was like, ‘O.K., this is really serious,’” said Chris Burniske, a virtual currency investor who lost control of his phone number late last year.
A wide array of people have complained about being successfully targeted by this sort of attack, including a Black Lives Matter activist and the chief technologist of the Federal Trade Commission. The commission’s own data shows that the number of so-called phone hijackings has been rising. In January 2013, there were 1,038 such incidents reported; by January 2016, that number had increased to 2,658.

After months of suffering through the poorest internet connection, Thank you Comcast and Infinity, I think the service tech finally resolved the major issue of a bad cable feed. And I got an honest answer from the young man when asked what I could do if anything to improve my internet service. He said quite frankly, ” Well Sir, I would go to Best Buy and purchase a WiFi/Router called Nighthawk, and ditch this black box from Comcast. These things suck!” I thanked him for his honesty and candor. Maybe he will run for public office one day? He’s got my vote! 🙂
