You mentioned your down wind but I don’t know what force or distance it would initially blast out. I’m guessing their not super bombs like us  or Russia. Then the other thing about plans, he could miss. The thing about the flash is if you see it from what I know your too close. After get rid of any top soil for growing anything and don’t eat any thin skinned fruit you can’t peel off the surface. For me in the city esp in hard pan land there are a lot of sewers to climb in with a bug out bag I though of since I don’t have a extra 50k for a shelter on speculation plus you never know where you’ll be but there’s always one of them around. Just don’t mention it I don’t mind rats but don’t wanna run into any Gang bangers. I heard their sealing those tops now. Have to ask someone about that.

Two Hours Ago>>Geopolitical Concerns and Weaker Dollar Puts Spotlight on Gold

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 11:14 on April 19, 2017

Part:

Gold climbed higher on Tuesday due to a weaker dollar and geopolitical uncertainties. Spot gold rose 0.4 percent to $1,289.83 an ounce by 4:41 p.m. EDT on Tuesday after it hit its peak at $1,295.42 in prior session. Concerns about growing tensions between the United States and North Korea drove the demand for the yellow metal. In addition, worries over the upcoming French presidential election also helped push gold prices higher. Gold is often viewed as a safe-haven asset in times of geopolitical and financial turmoil and year to date; Gold is up about 12 percent. Kenadyr Mining Holdings Corp. (TSX-V: KEN), Gold Resource Corporation (NYSE: GORO), McEwen Mining Inc. (NYSE: MUX), Gold Fields Limited (NYSE: GFI), Harmony Gold Mining Co. (NYSE: HMY)

The price of gold was lifted by a weaker dollar as the dollar index fell to a three-week low after the Commerce Department posted disappointing U.S. housing starts data. Gold prices could benefit from a weaker dollar as it makes other currencies holders cheaper to buy dollar-denominated commodities. “Short-term risk is skewed to the downside but underlying support is there with the focus on political uncertainties. We see the yen continuing to strengthen, and a strong yen and strong gold have gone hand-in-hand since November,” said Saxo Bank’s head of commodity strategy Ole Hansen, reported by Reuters.

Good Morning Folks

Posted by Farmboy @ 10:42 on April 19, 2017

Couple morning thoughts:

  • Futures Expiry for Gold and Silver is next Wednesday, April 26. From the view this morning, Gold 1250 is within ear shot, and Silver below 18 almost a given. Could get ugly.
  • The Democrats are on a roll in Georgia. Their choice had 48% of the vote last night. If he had gotten just 2% more, he would have clinched it. Now forced into a runoff vote in June. They took a snot nosed 30 yr old whose only claim to fame or experience was as an aid to some Washington Congressman. He does not even live in the District he ran for office ! It was a very polished and slick ad campaign by the Dems. The Republicans ran their usual stiff, boring campaign. Pitiful !!! If this is a sign of future politics, the Dems are far from out of it. ( I know, hard to believe.) But remember, Trump was NOT a Republican, but ran as an ‘outsider’, with mostly his own money. And won in spite of the opposition from his own party.
  • Maya, appreciate the coffee and train pic. Speaking of a Circus, we should load that train with the clowns and performers in Washington, and never let them off. 🙂

Patton studied the Ringling operation to improve troop movement logistics in the European theater during WW II , it is claimed .

Interesting…he also managed one of the greatest logistical military feats of all time, turning an advancing Army through 90 degrees….no doubt he used the Ringling methods to keep it all going, as the logistics of that turn would have been collosal.

If at first you don’t exceed…

Try another time on the London exchange.

25k contracts dumped in under a minute. Good for $8

We’ll see if they try it once more since we’re on the ropes.

Thanks for the Thunder there SnG at 9:12. Everything from agent orange to crop dusting and cloud seeding.

I see nothing different…in fact they just hit AU at almost the exact same time as yesterday, if not the exact minute !!!!!

the GDX seller has got it below 24.00 again and the SM is good and solid….all is wonderfull in scumland.

As to how they got the SM up after IBM…..DB is up over 2 % and if they can get that Pig positive, they can lift anything, especially if they ram USD/JPY above 109.

Alex–thanks for the Ringling memories! Amazing how they could make a profit with all that overhead

Back then the inflationary spiral that stated in 70s hadn’t hit–and all those workers were born in the USA–back in the 20s-30s- 40s and 50s-

I was born in 1943 in Peoria, Il and Peoria had many smaller circuses come to town over the years–

Maya – thanks for the Ringling train photo

Very sad to see the end of ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’ . As a youngster I helped raise the Big Top on a summer morning of one of the final years that the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey five ring circus was still under canvas . Only later in life did I appreciate what a phenomenal logistics operation it was , to offload the train , set up a cook and a dining tent to feed over a thousand circus workers three meals each day , raise the sideshow , animal , and Big Top tents ( and bleachers in the Big Top , which they called Bertha ) in time for an early matinee show , then the main evening show , tear it all down again , transport and load it all back on the train , and overnight head to the next town , to repeat the whole thing the next day . Absolutely amazing ! BTW the elephants and horses were used to haul the ropes which raised those immense tents – I believe seating capacity of the Big Top was around 5000 customers at each performance .

In the case of my home town , the arrival of those circus workers increased the city population by 5% for the day . Just increasing the food supply by that much for a single day is almost a miracle .

So over on our side of the pond, IBM misses earnings bigly, stock down around $8 pre-market but the DOW and S & P futures somehow manage to be up nicely. The USD up a little.

What’s it all mean? Hit pm’s of course – along with the VIX.

No clue what if anything will ever change.

Fallout survival… thanks.  (I had to really magnify the browser display, but I got it!)

I actually have a copy of Cresson Kearny’s “Nuclear War Survival Skills” and have gone through it rather well.  But I’m not worried about fallout where I am.  Upwind of me is 2500 miles of open ocean, and we get sea winds here.  All the military assets are on the island of Oahu, some 250 miles downwind of me.  And I have two volcano ‘blast shields’ almost 14,000 ft high next to me.

Norm of Murph’s is right. That dump should have got a lot more bang for the buck unless the scum used that opportunity to cover their short positions. Course, always debatable whether scum has to cover shorts at all.

The bizarre action in JNUG and GDXJ of course makes no sense when GDXJ funds have gone from $1 billion to $5 billion since Jan. 1, 2016

Why on earth would more money pouring into a sector make prices rise?

There’s nothing quite like what we witness on a daily basis with pm’s.

Geeze, even the RCMP is helping illegal “refugees” cross into Canada, with Trudeau’s blessings.

A little light at the end of the tunnel?
18 mths ago, a $2.7B notional gold dump drove a $30-40 drop in gold; today’s $3B dump drove a $4 dump for 10 mins:
Wouldnt it be nice to see the crooks get one right back here!

JNUG confusion

Posted by drb2 @ 16:45 on April 18, 2017

I just spoke to Direxion concerning JNUG and wish I could report all we discussed, but I concluded the call about as confused as I began.

Some bits for what they’re worth:

  • Direxion was concerned that JNUG/NUGT ($1.5B) were getting too large for the PM universe ($__B).  a case of the tail wagging the dog
  • as of Thursday JNUG shares are fixed at 168 M; as of May 1st 4to1 split  = 48 M shares; share price adjusted accordingly
  • shares of DUST/JDST are not fixed – this should actually be a positive for JNUG long term
  • assuming PM shares trend upward over a long term JNUG/NUGT should also, but can diverge – For instance, a large holder of JNUG/NUGT could sell resulting in a short term drop.  Having a smaller fixed number of shares should actually lessen this possibility.

I hope I recorded the above accurately, but like I said my head was spinning.

Has to be the only sector where consistent buying of a stock ” other than phyzz”  doesn’t beat timing because the stock can go to zero value.  Less well established but even then can take years to recover. In all other sectors except maybe currency consistent buying over time even munis beats timing where people can get it wrong and left at the station or never buy back. Then timing can take up too much of your time. Lol

Look at the Bond moves tdy…real panic..yet the scum sell 3 billion notional Au short..and still the SM falls

Posted by Maddog @ 16:05 on April 18, 2017

scum are up against it here big time.
