Knew about the split Aces & 8’s. The Double down at 11 helped. Ending up losing $200 at end of the day, but still had a great time and a lot of fun. Learned another lesson, don’t go to the casino on a holiday. Took me almost 2 hours just to get a seat at the table. Watching the other players was great. Seen this one old black grandma, had to be in her eighties, and she was lighting the table up. Tried counting her winnings with her stacks of chips, but figure she had about 4 grand. Kept waiting for a seat next to her to open up but it never happened. Figured she had been playing Blackjack longer than I have been alive. Fun to watch her win.
All in all, a good day and some lessons learned. Got to meet an interesting retired couple. They just travel around the country hitting the casinos. Had some funny stories to share and a bit of advice to a newbie. Good folks.
I can see maybe taking a mini vacation about once a month just to take a break.
