Mny years ago the Copper mkt was massively long or short, can’t remember which way…anyway there is an annual dinner in the Fall in London, where everyone gets hugely smashed and is out all night. That year on the morning after the dinner, very early London time the Chinese raided the mkt taking on the massive position and in no time had prices hundreds of $ away from the previous close….as all the companies only had junior skeleton staff in and most of their clients were passed out still, there was no liquidity.

That was an extreme example, but the Chinese love taking on a crowded mkt.

Might as well get ready for Hillary because they don’t take the only Trump very seriously. This will destroy and credibility they had left. Voting day may be interesting to watch when it’s their turn and blamed for the mess they created.

Its kinda like the chicken or egg. Sometimes fear and worry drive people into dollars. Remember ’08? ‘9? Gold down to $700-$800 from $1200? I grabbed some that time. These days higher gold could be related to the deflationary related re low interest rates and shaky real estate, promotes lack of confidence in the central planners.

I think the whole 100 years era is in slow reverse transition. Back to gold as global money, and real estate back to a consumer product. We won’t be here though

I was hardly able to get a licks worth of work done that day just staring at that picture and day dreaming. Appreciate your views on that writer’s comment about worry. And I agree  hardheartedly that the media often has a spin put to it. I had a few issues of my own with his statement but have found it easier, at least for most days, to ignore rather than take issue with most of the articles I read. I did not the author was quite selective in his choice of words. Gold futures rather than gold prices. I mentally replaced his ‘investors’ with the word speculators because at least in my own mind an investor buys gold, while a speculator buys paper contracts. Just a quirk in my thinking I suppose.

But I do think he kinda pegged the worry over GDP and economic growth as driving force, or reason, that some are looking at the Precious Metals as a form of safe haven, even with the markets going up. I took that, and admit I might be a bit optimistic in doing so, as more and more folks are seeing through the CNBS story lines and those fantasy land gubberment figures and have this gut feeling that things are not doing as well as so many report. Seems the popularity of one Donald Trump is one reflection of some not believing that all things are as well as some want us to believe.

So I say, buy silver and gold, and vote for Trump and get ready for a hell of a ride. The times, they are a’changing.

Regarding, watching the recent gold market leave the starting blocks and the old and wise, too jaded to buy and make real money recently as they watched and watched than bought ( this is it) and then the market drops in hours.
