Why is it that there is a permanent “dead zone”of 70 sq. kms around Chernobyl while life goes on normally in Hiroshima and Nagasaki; inquiring mind wants to know?

Richard640 @ 7:04- Pacific fish..people are clueless!

Posted by Auandag @ 11:01 on June 25, 2015

I never buy fish from the supermarkets, because you don’t know where it comes from, especially the processed kind. Dna tests show that a large percentage of fish is mislabelled. Fish caught in China and canned in Canada is labelled as a product of Canada. I buy fish from a local market that comes from manitoba lakes or the atlantic. When I enquire if other customers avoid pacific fish, I get that “caught in the headlights look”.

Uncertain future for global diamond trade as profits vanish

Posted by ipso facto @ 10:56 on June 25, 2015

TEL AVIV – The family businesses that make up the global diamond trade have seen their profits wiped out over the past five years, hit by shaky financing, increased costs and uncertain demand from customers who prefer hi-tech gadgets to bling. Manufacturers who cut and polish diamonds have found themselves caught between giant mining companies charging high prices for rough stones, and big retail chains that demand gems at low margins to keep sales moving. While the $80 billion overall spent on diamond jewellery last year was a record, the manufacturers are expected to share a profit of just $100-million in 2015. That is half last year’s total and down from $900-million in 2010, according to Chaim Even-Zohar of Tacy Ltd and Pranay Narvekar of Pharos Beam in Mumbai, two of the industry’s top consultants. Even-Zohar estimated that 300-000 Chinese and Indian workers had been laid off out of nearly 1-million employed in gemcutting in those two countries, where most manufacturing takes place.

China to launch yuan-denominated gold fix this year

Posted by ipso facto @ 9:16 on June 25, 2015

The Shanghai Gold Exchange will launch a yuan-denominated gold fix by the end of the year, a bourse official said on Thursday, in a move aimed at giving China more influence over the pricing of the precious metal.

“We will be introducing a renminbi-denominated fix at the right moment, we are hoping to introduce by the end of the year,” Shen Gang, vice president of the Shanghai Gold Exchange said at the LBMA Bullion Market Forum in Shanghai.

The yuan fix will be complementary to the current global benchmark, the century-old London gold fix, she said.

“The aim is to provide a more diversified benchmark pricing to the industry,” Shen said.

Shen’s comments were the first official confirmation of SGE’s plans for the fix. Reuters had reported in February citing sources that China was planning to launch the yuan gold fix through state-run SGE, the world’s biggest physical bullion exchange. (Reporting by A. Fukushima is a perpetual radiation meltdown scenario that literally sets on the edge of a bottomless doomsday pit,

AVOID ALL PACIFIC AND ESPECIALLY ALASKAN SOURCED SEAFOOD

After the Fukushima blow up, ambient levels of radiation in Washington State went up 40,000 times above normal, but according to Dr. Caldicott, the U.S. media does not cover the “ongoing Fukushima mess.” So, who would really know?

Dr. Caldicott ended her speech on Sept. 2014 by saying: “In Fukushima, it is not over. Everyday, four hundred tons of highly radioactive water pours into the Pacific and heads towards the U.S. Because the radiation accumulates in fish, we get that too. The U.S. government is not testing the water, not testing the fish, and not testing the ambient air. Also, people in Japan are eating radiation every day.”

Furthermore, according to Dr. Caldicott: “Rainwater washes over the nuclear cores into the Pacific. There is no way they can get to those cores, men die, robots get fried. Fukushima will never be solved. Meanwhile, people are still living in highly radioactive areas.”

Fukushima will never be solved because “men die” and “robots get fried.” By the sounds of it, Fukushima is a perpetual radiation meltdown scenario that literally sets on the edge of a bottomless doomsday pit, in waiting to be nudged over.

Chernobyl’s Destruction Mirrors Fukushima’s Future

As an example of how media fails to deal with disaster blowback, here are some Chernobyl facts that have not received enough widespread news coverage: Over one million (1,000,000) people have already died from Chernobyl’s fallout.

Additionally, the Rechitsa Orphanage in Belarus has been caring for a very large population of deathly sick and deformed children. Children are 10 to 20 times more sensitive to radiation than adults.

Zhuravichi Children’s Home is another institution, among many, for the Chernobyl-stricken: “The home is hidden deep in the countryside and, even today, the majority of people in Belarus are not aware of the existence of such institutions” (Source: Chernobyl Children’s Project-UK).

One million (1,000,000) is a lot of dead people. But, how many more will die? Approximately seven million (7,000,000) people in the Chernobyl vicinity were hit with one of the most potent exposures to radiation in the history of the Atomic Age.

The exclusion zone around Chernobyl is known as “Death Valley.” It has been increased from 30 to 70 square kilometres. No humans will ever be able to live in the zone again. It is a permanent “dead zone.”

Additionally, over 25,000 died and 70,000 disabled because of exposure to extremely dangerous levels of radiation in order to help contain Chernobyl. Twenty percent of those deaths were suicides, as the slow agonizing “death march of radiation exposure” was too much to endure.

Don’t know what kind of bugs but I’ll have to see if I don’t have to log in every time I post once I move to another page. Guess same thing happening to Richard. Heard you had a heat wave yesterday. Think it was yesterday lol informationmation overload. Carl Ichan was on this morning warned of another 07 but couldn’t say when but said stocks over heated and to stay away from high yield bonds. It is a no brainer like he says but respect his opinion a very smart man and one of the level headed.

Greece …will remain in the euro. The rest is smoke and news feed

It was pleasant to see vibrant messages at the tent today.
Winedoc, my sincere congratulations in reference to your Son’s milestone high school graduation. Will he continue his education on the “east coast”? The venue and depth of maritime universities are excellent.
In reference to the debate about rate hikes? I suggest this will be non event for 2015. (Frosty’s wager ) Frankly, 2016 will surprise me. The sheep are feed ….the constant awaiting the fed , awaiting the euro demise, there is no inflation, peace in our time, we are the good guys, ….awaiting of Godot, smile. My point, the whole system is a confidence game of imaginary balances and checks when in reality there are none in Tier one. The sheep are feed and sheared as always . ( terrible words but descriptive).
Gold I believe has bottomed. I am surprised it has not started it slow march up and the dollar its slip-slide down. I have been surprised for months , grin. We all know it is a masterfully manipulated illusion. Mr. Griffin, an exceptional brilliant man, shared this in his master piece ..The Creature of Jekyll island…years ago. (Great video, last night thank-you for sharing.)
All the above is my personal opinion. In North American the word gold is as relevant as soccer, not so much, smile. Platinum is in the basement also. Frankly I like this more, now. The junior mid tier mining stocks…There are a few real gems out there if they survive the coming months. Can we have a black swan event yes….than all is possible……we are doomed lol…
Enough….the above is my view…
