Looking at that “nugget” a little closer … it looks like there is finger indentations in it! 🙂

ipso facto @ 10:03 Obama pulls plug on $1.65 billion carbon-capture project
That is very good, and another sign of reversal of the 2008 meltdown past…Wasting money on things not needed is no longer an option. The tax ABSORBING “environment sector” jobs and businesses “industry” ha, never existed before all the real tax PAYING industries were sent off shore.
Bottom line. The US economy is in a slow motion stealth reversal, exactly like the invisible stealth reversal transition, after 1971, removal of our industries instead of our gold. But the gold is probably gone too re stealth.

Brainless idiots yep. Lol Was watching some game wardens put up a remote control deer  near a road. Watched a truck drive by a screech it backed up, bam bam then realized it wasn’t real sped off but got caught. He wound up with all sorts of violations. I’m surprised the cops didn’t just sit by that tree and just wait for some of these idiots.
The ones in office might have another surprise when they find Putin has a better trade deal with Europe than the US lawyers thought up. Obama been out classed.
Ipso and Wanka….Nugget
The closest I can think of in appearance is when we made small “cleanup” nuggets out of flour gold and flakes of gold left in the bottom of the pan or the sluicebox using mercury which it all adheres to; then burned off the mercury to make small nuggets of pure gold. Just saying…….Silverngold

I agree. That nugget looks like no nugget I have ever seen. Reminds me of one of equisetum’s 2 kilo “gold bars.”
Actually in the story they questioned that picture’s veracity too.
Cheers
All that matters is that 8 largest Banks are collusively rigging prices lower in the hope that they can get some of the 60 largest Spec funds to liquidate. The Banks’ clear goal has been to breach the 200-day moving average and, as yet, they’ve been unsuccessful. For the ultimate, headline-grabbing bang for their manipulative buck, they’re hoping to use tomorrow’s BLSBS to inspire the selling needed to finally break down and close price below this important technical indicator. Let’s see if we can write the Yahoo Finance or Marketwatch story right now:
“Following today’s surprisingly strong US jobs report, gold fell over 1% and closed below the technically-important 200-day moving average for the first time in three weeks. Analysts interviewed by (insert media here) noted that today’s close likely indicates more selling to come and foreshadows an end to the nacsent rally in the yellow metal that seemed to begin in January.”
See how that works?
Well Wanky that’s a bit of a conundrum
because morale won’t improve until the 3.5 year repeated beatings stop.
ipso facto….gold nugget
I’ve seen quite few gold nuggets, all the way from California to Alaska, but I’ve never seen one anywhere close to looking like that one. That one looks to have been manufactured. No way considering how soft gold is that a naturally occurring nugget has that kind of rough surface, and normally something that large would have quartz or other rock embedded in the nugget too. Something smells pretty “fishy” about that story. Just saying…….Silverngold

I fear you may right.
goldielocks @ 6:55 Wildlife
There’s a song out now, starts something like “When you see a deer you see Bambie, but I see antlers on the wall”. That’s about the mentality of those who shoot at reflectors at night thinking they are shooting deer or other “game”. Years ago we put two red reflectors on a very large tree on a highway close to where I lived at the time. It took a couple years but those idiot road hunters actually felled that big tree, they shot at is so much. Not even close to funny since many of them I’m sure had no idea what they were shooting at or even if it was safe to shoot at all since there were other houses in the vicinity. My main point though is that those “hunters” didn’t have a clue what they were trying to kill. Just saw a couple “eyes” and started blasting away. Conclusion is some people are brainless idiots. What I’m wondering is how they all got into office??? Silverngold

Chinese herdsman stumbles onto a 17-pound gold nugget
goldielocks @ 5:42… Great Armstrong posts, thanks
He is definitely a brilliant guy. My only question is, is he doing what he is doing for our benefit, or is he just trying to cover the fact that his main job is to discourage the ownership of and/or the investment in precious metals? Oh yeah, and also who does he actually take his orders from??????????? Silverngold

“protecting taxpayer interests” what a quaint idea
Obama pulls plug on $1.65 billion carbon-capture project
On Tuesday the U.S. Department of Energy announced that it would not be contributing more funds to FutureGen Alliance, a large-scale carbon-capture demonstration project in Illinois.
The alliance was funded by a mix of state, private and federal government money. Cost was estimated at $1.65 billion, with the federal government paying the one billion out of federal stimulus funding. Without the DOE funding, the project is suspended.
“The U.S. Department of Energy has directed the suspension of FutureGen 2.0 project development activities. The DOE has concluded that there is insufficient time to complete the project before federal funding expires in September 2015,” announced the CEO of the FutureGen Alliance, Ken Humphreys.
The reason given for the feds pulling out was little return on money spent.
“In order to best protect taxpayer interests, the Department of Energy has initiated a structured closeout of federal support for the project that will help maximize the value of investments to date while minimizing ongoing risks and further costs,” DOE spokesman Bill Gibbons said.

Costly lockout looms on US ports
The US economy could lose $2bn a day in economic activity during a work stoppage at west coast ports, retailers have warned as an impasse in contract negotiations threatens a lockout by employers within days.
Jonathan Gold, head of supply chain for the National Retail Federation, based the warning on a study the federation commissioned last year examining how a complete stoppage would affect US gross domestic product. The study found a five-day lockout would reduce GDP by $1.9bn daily, a 10-day lockout by $2.1bn a day and 20 days $2.5bn daily.
