I must have misunderstood about NVDA

Sorry for the bad intel. I’m not seeing their earnings.

I know, expect these fools that call themselves leaders representing their people  to have any ideas of their own?  If that’s who they follow would be a disaster?  I guess if they can’t beat them, join them.

China is already far down this road. Too many social demerits and you can’t ride a train or do other normal societal tasks.

I’m not a big fan of Charles. Him and his family are prime WEF members.

Those annoying peasants just clog up the road getting to and from. They just get in Schwabs way.  So Charles is quiet about them taking over his kingdom?
Do they need to ask Charles permission to kick these fools out of office and put pressure on any company cutting deals with them to build them.

I saw one in China where a man showed how they have to use ID to leave to go somewhere else and fences are up,

NVDA comes out with earnings after the bell

Posted by Buygold @ 9:09 on August 18, 2023

Interesting they come out on a Friday.

NVDA needs perfection in their earnings because they are sporting a 70-80 PE

The Nasdaq will be holding its collective breaths because NVDA has been the leader this year.

I’ll go out on a limb and say that earnings will be good, but just not good enough.

Monday will be a bloodbath in the SM.

Doesn’t sound so bad to me. Sort of Thoreau-esq. There’s a certain appeal to living a quieter life … although I think it would still be nice to have the internet.

Yup, here comes the bond sellers

Posted by Buygold @ 8:29 on August 18, 2023

10 yr now down only 1.7 bips, back above 4.26%.

The crashing dollar is moving higher as well, so the algo’s must sell GLD and SLV.

I suspect it won’t be long before we start to see rates, the USD, gold and other commodities move up in tandem.

SM deteriorating in the last hour. Money used to go from a weak SM to the bond market. Where’s it going now?

Rates backing off this am

Posted by Buygold @ 5:55 on August 18, 2023

10 yr. down 6 bips to 4.22%, someone is attempting to slow down the exodus I guess.

Dollar is flat/up slightly. So, there’s that. Why isn’t it down?

Tech continuing to sell down premarket. Only question is whether the banksters will let the SM crater into the weekend.

Oil flat. It so early yet, so we’ll see how things shake out.

ipso facto @ 9:01 – container homes

Posted by Maya @ 3:29 on August 18, 2023

I personally know several people, ham radio friends and one is facility manager of a medical facility, who live in containers.   Buy a cheap lot in the jungle with plenty of rainfall.  Catchment water, solar power off-grid.  Propane stove outdoor cooking.  Minimalist lifestyle of a cabin in the wild.

Doesn’t bother me. Beats living in your van or in the woods. How big were houses in the 50s … 1200 or 1400 sq ft? Well, this is smaller.

Posted by ipso facto @ 20:34 on August 17, 2023

Thought I touched on this

Posted by Buygold @ 18:07 on August 17, 2023

Yields are up because the world and large US banksters are divesting from US Treasuries. The dollar is up because those treasuries must first be converted into dollars before they exit into other assets.

The dollar is crashing, it’s not strengthening, except against other worthless fiat currencies. The Fed will end up raising to defend the dollar at a time when they should be cutting as the economy is falling off a cliff. The SM is now in trouble because earnings will collapse with the economy.

This is a wicked mess. The problem for everyone else is divesting from dollars, moving into oil and other commodities. If the dollar was so strong, oil wouldn’t be above $80 as demand for oil is falling. Watch for other commodities to rise like they did today. Hard assets are the place to be. Except for gold and silver which are manipulated lower to make everything seem OK – but it’s not. When it finally snaps, G & S will experience an explosion higher. Unfortunately, who knows where that will be as algo’s continue to pressure them in connection with the so-called “strong dollar”. It’s all bullshit.

Anyone notice Bitcoin down 10% today? That’s bullshit air too, it will go the way of the tulip market. It is not the future of money.

Our day is coming, and I don’t think it’s that far off. I really don’t.

As always JMHO, and as always, pm shares are the worst investment in market history.

Ipso. Mr Copper

Posted by goldielocks @ 15:40 on August 17, 2023

Well whatever it is it’s making me a nervous trader waiting for the dollar to drop any day now so I’m putting myself on the sidelines. Seems like the selling of treasuries would be bullish for gold though, So much I know.
I guess we have this Jackson Hole meeting coming up I wonder if that’s what’s making the market react to.

“What’s driving the dollar up?” How about the big players on futures markets

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 13:23 on August 17, 2023

Like gov’t flunky Goldman Sachs. Or the Fed raising the rates? They can do what ever they want, but have been having trouble doing so.

Inflation Is Not A Problem, If Profits and Wages Go Up Faster

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 13:19 on August 17, 2023

Like 1962 until 1975. It was easy to get raises BECAUSE of inflation. But our anti American gov’t started importing cheaper foreign made products. I remember people were buying houses with 18% mtgs. Businesses could afford to pay higher wages because of no foreign competition.

TPTB are so stupid they simply want the country to run on low taxpayer wages. Many people I knew in the 1970s went to self employment after 1975 so they could make more money. The workers started putting their wives to work.

Even in my area the state gov’t started trying to pass laws that allow homeowners to make extra apartments in their houses, garages or basements to flood the market with apartments to get lower rent prices. But local town boards are not complying. Plus in NYC they are flooded with immigrants and trying to make nearby towns take them in. Also they are not complying.

“What’s driving the dollar up?”

I think some of it is China unloading our bonds and T bills for dollars, creating demand.

Why retail theft is soaring: inflation, the economy – and opportunity

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 12:51 on August 17, 2023

Part:

Target last week said it was bracing to lose half a billion dollars this year because of rising theft. Nordstrom, Whole Foods and some other big chains said they were abandoning San Francisco because of changing economic conditions or employee safety. Many other retailers have blamed crime for closing stores.

Comment: The subject title is totally wrong. In 1975 I was thinking, if taxpayer wages DON’T keep up with inflation, there are going to be poverty problems. Tax absorber wages like Gov’t employees for example, manage to keep up with inflation. But THEY need taxpayer wages to keep up. The people in the gov’t and media simply don’t know why there are so many problems.

So what’s driving the dollars up? Borrowing from Peter to pay Paul??  or more going to Ukraine filling a few pockets along the way.
Too much going on on the side lines for awhile besides phyzz but stopped buying that with the premiums. I figure as long as people buy at those premiums they’ll keep selling them for  that. As far as week hands thing I see that as letting someone take your profits or worse in gold stocks. I don’t see it any different than someone running off with your purse or holding your money hostage. I won’t short gold stocks either on the other end but would sure be easy lol

Trying not to be a pessimist

Posted by deer79 @ 12:28 on August 17, 2023

………but part of me thinks that TPTB will purposely raise rates until TSHTF…..

then they can go forward with their new world structure….
