Now back below $33 and giving up nearly half the overnight gains.
Would explain the lackluster share action pre market. Besides the fact that the shares suck. ?

Silver bouncing back nicely, up near 2%, and above $33. Gold a little tentative, up .5%
The shares that are trading aren’t really moving much though, which begs the question, why did they get hit so hard yesterday?
SM futures down a little, oil flat, Bitcoin flat, rates down 2 bips.
Not sure I trust pm’s, especially gold, to hold these small overnight gains, simply because of the way the shares got tagged yesterday on heavy volume.
Might be up to silver to do the heavy lifting, and that’s not a good thing to rely on.
Eco data today includes the CPI. Probably will move things around. I’m not sure what pm’s want from that, soft or hot inflation.
Physical terrorists eh lol We were all friends but occasionally they were terrorists when they had someone do something that actually broke the seal of a wound vac and that isn’t easy to do and when they race to treat a patient before I got there to treat a wound while other times had to wait because something they have them do would compromise the bandage depending on where it was both on our own time thing but I had other things to time like their showers.
That is awesome. You have some good doctors around you Your in a good place. You know, where you live can have a big impact on the kind of doctors your gonna have around you. People thinking they wanna go off the grid somewhere in the boon docks might not think about that.
Walking is wonderful! No more stabbing pains. Muscles still a little weak so I’m being careful with small steps. Wednesday I have appointment with the Physical Terrorists. They will evaluate my progress. But I walked the Costco warehouse for shopping without even hanging on to a cart. Actually feels good to get some circulation going in the legs. I’m at 90% easily.
Gluing a flat slipper sole onto my good sandals works wonders to balance out the leg lengths. It works. No lower back pain from the imbalance, and I can walk in comfort.
What I mean is what provoked him to say that? The swamp isn’t totally the victim here as far as Japan. They used the weakened yen to make money off it for a long time while inflation was up in Japan. They also joyfully let them buy all those treasuries so they could spend all that money on what? Wars while we go in debt? Then if that video is right the majority of trade we have is sending them oil wouldn’t that seem like a strike two? First strike was pre war that brought on Pearl Harbor? What did they do to us? Just say with the pieces of information it seems like something was said as we are not meant to be dictators right, or done that set him off. Maybe how they put it. Like getting a letter from the electric company they are going to triple you bill if you don’t buy their solar panels. Something Calif California would do. That he didn’t just wake up one day after all these years and tell America they are going to liquidate all those treasuries over normal trade talks.
Perhaps there should be a limit how many treasuries any particular country can buy. Just like there should of been a limit on how much they spend and how much jobs we outsource. Perhaps maybe the employees of these jobs should have a say by vote on that considering it’s their jobs all things being equal as they preach and no increasing taxing and regulation shenanigans going on.
Just saw your update. Finance minister is a big deal, and just because he walked it back doesn’t mean it’s not on their minds. Still, probably not a good strategy until there’s nothing left to talk about.
How much easier would it have been if we’d never allowed these countries to rape us in the first place? That deal cutting pharmaceutical costs is a huge deal. RFK Jr. says that we provide 74% of the pharmaceutical industries revenue worldwide with only 4.2% of the population. I know we consume a lot of drugs here but that is way out of whack. The pharma companies need to charge the world more, and they will.
There should be a judge that comes out and says Trump can’t do that in a week or so. Then can you imagine the opposition in Congress from all our politicians that take money from them? Bernie Sanders the Marxist and Elizabeth Warren the crazy person are the two biggest recipients of cash from that industry.
Pocahontas will be on the war path.
That is certainly a big bill, but I wouldn’t say it was beautiful. I don’t know how long $4tn will last, or at what rates you’ll have to pay to borrow it at, but it’s 13% of GDP. Good job you’ve got DOGE and all that tariff money or it would have been north 0f $7tn. I guess the idea is that all that spending will give the impression of a fantastic resurgence, the Golden Age of America, but we all know what happens when companies fake success by spending 13% more than they earn.
Got gold?
Especially with the shares getting destroyed. Silver held up ok most of those shares got whacked too.
Hard to know how much of the gold buying was tied to the tariffs. Guess we’ll find out ?
This is from MSN news. The statements were later “walked back.”
“A Japanese official issued a veiled threat amid trade talks with the Trump administration, then said the threat was merely a hypothetical conversation.
As with most foreign countries that do business with the United States, Japan has been in talks with Trump administration officials after President Donald Trump announced tariffs on imports. Some have called the tariffs a disaster for Japan.
On Friday, Japan’s finance minister said that Japan’s status as the largest holder of Treasury securities could be a tool in the talks, in what the Financial Times called a “rare baring of teeth by America’s closest ally in Asia.”
The Japanese guy was the Finance Minister, sounds pretty high up there to me.
I haven’t seen the story elsewhere. I’ll take a quick look.
Cheers
I’m not sure what you are saying? The Japanese official was threatening the US with economic destruction. He may not still have a job.
Hey winedoc – come around a little more often and spread some of the wisdom. You’re right, the general public is nowhere to be found.
Ipso – I guess I’d think if he were a heavy hitter in the negotiations the threat would be splattered all over the MSM. They are looking for anything to go wrong in Trump’s admin at this point. They’ve been disappointed so far. I think too, this type of thing might weigh on the SM.
Tough day in the shares for sure. The weak sisters are the best performers among the silver plays. AG, HL. not that bad. The heavy volume in the large caps bothers me, just looks like wholesale selling and no buyers. Did they have to sell their winners to cover margin calls on their SM shorts? I suspect some big shorts got blown out of the water today. They probably believed the China is invincible story.
Last hour, I’d like to see HUI retake 370 and show some signs of life. But I digress….
My coin shop in Halifax was ” dead” today
couple people in trying to sell a few scrap coins and some junk silver
aint no line ups to buy
im still stacking
Happy with a little silver out the door
days like thi suck especially in the shares
Winedoc
That video about Japan is missing the other side of the story. We can be surprised how some cultures react to things we may understand and vise versa and not directly about the subject. What made him so angry? I don’t know about Trump’s art of the deal but I wonder as far as our allies especially friends indeed or not did he first explain the data of the current trade deals and what he was proposing or wanting to change ot negotiate? Or did he just say oh by the way I’m increasing the tarriffs on this and that as of this date?
It’s a short video. You’re right it doesn’t seem too Japan like.
The gov official making the threats may be acting unilaterally I don’t know.
Kind of a sucky day in the PMs!
Volume is heavy in the shares, especially the large cap golds. AEM, NEM. They are acting like gold is going a lot lower.
Hard to tell on a “news” day where the dollar is soaring. We didn’t have a big reversal from a top in the metals like we usually do. Sure seems like an overreaction. Who knows with these shares though. The one thing they do really well is go down.
Odd to say the least if they are actually threatening us. I didn’t listen to the video though.
Peter St Onge, Ph.D.
@profstonge
Japan threatens economic war with America by dumping treasuries to crash our banking system.
Japan’s playing with fire.
Maybe it’s time for Trump to “clarify” the military relationship.
Without the US market China’s economy was going downhill fast. The realization of this I think makes it a lot less likely that China will invade Taiwan.

How the 10 year hit a yield of 4.469, and then immediately backed off…..
Like a conductor, everything is so manipulated and fine tuned by the all powerful algo!!!
Nope they invest in SLV and SLVP.
… should listen to this if you don’t want to end up like Venezuela …
They own everything … they control what you eat … they control how much you eat … they control what you say … you are not free … this is why they want CBDC’s … to control you.
Don’t let your idiot and corrupt politicos foist this on you. (make them get real jobs instead of being the thieves they are)
Time is running out … go local … take control of your politics so that you don’t lose control of your life.
Mornin all
Wouldn’t the hedge funds be more likely in the ETFs like SIL ETC?
