That’s a good point about keeping up where money is moving and can be easy to lose track of not up on it all the time. It’s easier to take a chance at investing if you know the reason money will move in that direction without sleepless nights and don’t listen to late comers who aren’t caught up or watching. You might be on to something with Pal if it’s being used for cat??? Converters instead of platinum and if not what is it being used for?
Riots in LA This kid is a independent, travels all over, excellent interviewer who was right in the middle interviewing the rioters letting them speak their mind almost getting attacked himself by some anti American hooligan.
Mr Copper
Here’s a wild chart PTM
last 2.74…all time Hi was 479….so could go up over 200 times. if it equals that old Hi !!!!!
Here is a log chart of it
Didn’t see the close
but it looks like they sold us down with the SM?
Algo’s will be algo’s I guess.
If silver manages to bust through $37 tonight it will be very interesting to see if they give us one of their patented reversals and spend tomorrow reversing course.
We know we’re going to catch some crap going into the Fed meeting next week, the question is how much and when does it start. Do they wait until the end of the week, Thursday, Friday? Or do they wait until Monday? Maybe they start tomorrow.
There were some nice winners among the silver shares, but AG & HL have been leading, and they gave up the gains. AG has an RSI at 77 and has been up there for 3 straight days, they don’t like that. The HUI pretty much stunk up the place, with the move in silver, it should have done much better. SLV has an RSI at 72 and is way above its 50 dma, with a couple of gaps down around $31.50 and $30. It looks ripe for a beatdown of at least a couple bucks.
Unfortunately, we still aren’t like the SM where RSI’s on tech stocks stay in the 70’s or 80’s for weeks or months without correcting.
I see Bitcoin was up another $3K today – quietly. I don’t like the smell right now.
Goldielocks
Re Plat……Excellent point re Catalysts in cars I had forgotten about that…..but Palladium is an almost perfect substitute and Palladium went flying higher to over 3000 when Plat was falling apart…….
Truth be told all the old relationships between all PM’s have fallen apart , over the last 15 years or so….why I have no idea,…as have not kept up to date in them…..in a serious way….
So are the Chinese …
… going to take silver over $37 (quarterly resistance) overnight to spark a squeeze … only the shadow knows … well maybe a few insiders too … chuckle.
Maddog 13:56 platinum
Although much domestic sidetracks with family et al wasn’t tracking the charts, it seemed to me that the EV cars had a negative impact on platinum used in manufacturing of gas cars. But now that these crazy mandates on Ev’s and perhaps the perception that moved to things like lithium back then are now depending on the numbers in manufacturing move back into including platinum which also seemed or coincidence when I checked it would rise into spring here and may of had something to do with pre year new cars coming out. In other words gas cars more still preferred especially if you have drill baby drill and hope it stays that way going with it.
Mr. Copper – could be
I have no idea what the avg. Gold/Platinum ratio’s have been historically, but I’d imagine platinum is probably a pretty good bargain now.
Good day for the metals and silver is a beast. The HUI should be doing better though.
Captain brought up a good point about the China-US meeting in London. The conspiracy guy in me doesn’t like the fact that it’s in London. Are they concerned with the price of gold? Reminds me a little bit of 2014 when all the big bank CEO’s met at the White House with Obama over the weekend. We got throttled the following week big time.
None of these countries with fiat currencies like the idea of a high gold price. Bitcoin seems just fine with them though.
@Maddog, roger that thank you.
I might start buying some SBSW the original platinum miner was Stillwater until it got merged.
Buygold Mr Copper
Re Platinum and palladium
Platinum is a precious metal, it is the most precious of all, as it is found in the smallest amounts of any of them …it always traded at a premium to Gold , for that reason and was /is a favourite in the far east for jewellery, as it looks better on yellowish skin ……it is only the last decade or so that relationship has completely fallen apart.
The old relationship was anything above $ 150 premium u sold plat bt gold, any discount u bought plat sold gold…then in 2008 it shot out to $ 1300 premium……then fell apart…. falling year after year, all the way down to Minus $ 2500 in 2025.
I think what happened recently was the AU/AG spread suddenly dropped, as someone took big profits and maybe the same people started getting out of the Plat/Au spread….but both found no offers in size and are now ‘effed…as the offers still ain’t there in size…hence the speed of the move.
This could be a classic Algo trade …that worked for ages…..until they tried to get out.
Platinum could go ape here, as it always was a very thin market……
Buygold @ 10:29 re Platinum and Palladium
I suspect as Gold the monetary metal gets more expensive, maybe the market is starting to consider the platinum group metals as monetary metals too.
A nice push from here and silver hits $37
Been watching the base metals. They haven’t done much as platinum and palladium have soared.
Anyone have an opinion/explanation for that? P & P aren’t monetary metals, are they just viewed as cheap compared to gold? If so, why not the base metals too?
Really good volume in SLV in this first hour.
Watching First Majestic give up its gains slowly
it’s had a heckuva move, don’t know if that’s a precursor to silver turning south, but no indication of that just yet. Great strength in silver considering the dollar.
OTOH, the algo’s sure seem to be selling the shares at every blip down.
Nonetheless – EXK is roaring up 9%, Dolly Varden up 7%
There are still some good winners out there.
LOL

A biting assessment of Europe by
@TheEconomist
:
“Europeans know the global race for economic supremacy is lost. But the continent’s business model endures: it is a third poorer than America, works a third less, and is a lot more tanned at the end of August.”
Welcome my son …
… welcome to the machines …
… where have you been … never mind … we know where you’ve been.
The Rule of Idiots
The last days of dying empires are dominated by idiots. The Roman, Mayan, French, Habsburg, Ottoman, Romanoff, Iranian and Soviet dynasties crumbled under the stupidity of their decadent rulers who absented themselves from reality, plundered their nations and retreated into echo chambers where fact and fiction were indistinguishable.
CFTC allows the rig to continue …
… and we are at the point where either silver breaks free of cabal banker control … or it sees yet another manufactured slam down.
Hang on to your hats folks … get physical and it doesn’t matter … just another tamping down … silver is still going far higher as more people figure out the game … which is in full swing now … buy on dips … if we get one.
China and the US meet in London … if you think that is just a coincidence … where they will use manufactured good news to slam PMs … I have a bridge for sale I want to talk to you about … chuckle.

Morning Buygold
Fridays action, where Gold was down, as the spreads unwound, has I think fooled the Algo’s to pile on more shorts in PM shares…..the Algo’s are very linear, they only see what area they trade…they cannot see the spreads causing the weakness…..that’s my guess.
Gold looks to be a in a bear hesitation, probably doing the C down…but that C down may just be sideways….which would be super bullish, if a downside correction can only go sideways.
Meanwhile the spreads continue to narrow. So Plat and Ag rally more.
