Been watching Rio Tinto lately. Stock pays almost 7% dividend now. It’s a behemoth, but it looks like it could head back toward $70 to me. Base metals are firm and don’t seem to be falling. Might be a decent place to hide if pm’s calm down for a little bit. I don’t know.

Glad to see the protests didn’t get too crazy this weekend other than some stuff in Portland, and a little in LA. The war vs. Iran seems to be going swimmingly for Israel. May even lead to regime change there. Could be that Iranians are tired of being run by the mullahs and they moderate and westernize a bit. I saw a sign that said something like, ” Now you can pick your own strawberry’s for 5 dollars a hour. 5 dollars a hour. One told me that paid pickers say oranges or apples by how much the picked and that was about 18 yrs ago they could make 20 or so a hour. Also heard by a latina young American they citizens her because she couldn’t speak Spanish. So it might be hard to work with them but don’t know for sure . There’s regulars though already here who should be given green cards.

If these industries are paying the minimum wage, and if all these employees are paying taxes etc. (although how do they get a SS number if they’re illegal?), and they are all doing jobs for which there aren’t any legal citizens available, well, you’d expect that if jobs are being onshored. And farms and abattoirs are productive enterprises, hardworking migrants should surely be welcomed in these places.

Housing, I found something else out. I was thinking on buying a couple rental property for the poor on housing assistance. Besides finding out the selection process isn’t monitored in that workers there can move people up over people a head of them. Cooked things going on there. I found out that anybody from anywhere can buy them. You will own nothing and be happy. Not so much. What can happen if you have a lousy owner that does the least for the property as far as basic needs, like heat, water, electric, and in places needing air conditioning. They can go after a local person easier than say someone in China. Someone just had a baby after getting help leaving their abuser and they had no heat kinda thing. They need to stop outsourcing that too.

The more power they get like after last election with Biden empowering parasites things just get worse and worse. You just don’t hear about all of  it because they censor it or use crooked layers and law fare for these idiots. When it can’t be censored they play the blame shift game.
