Morning Maddog

Is flat good?

USD up a little, rates flat too. Looks like energy is on the move higher across the board.

Scum definitely omnipresent. Didn’t think $1740 would be such a big “no fly zone.”

It appears the SM can’t handle the 10 year rates above 3%, I’d be surprised if the SM holds up today.

Housing numbers come out in a bit. Market moving?

Here we go again….Gold fails at 1740 and is then lent on to take away all ystdys gains.

I think you should get into chocolate. No matter what the economy is doing people like chocolate, or most of them anyways.
Might be able to get yourself some passive income later as long as it doesn’t need expensive type fertilizers but where they’re grown it doesn’t seem so.
So you work with emergency through the ham, that’s good.
I told someone in Texas who had the licenses for that about your conversation with the space ship. She told me when the refugee Vietnamese came in and started shrimping off the gulf they got ham radios without licenses or permits or something for some reason. They could use walkie talkies but like to use the ham for some reason.
Not defending what there doing or cutting into the generational fisherman but they have a point. We have too many money grabbing regulations for everything now.
I’m surprised I haven’t seen a cartoon with a American with a sign America the free with pictures of FBI raiding homes, IRS raiding homes, cost of living inflated prices on everything and our schools jobs and internet censorship and so forth.

That would be something!

Hopefully the double top holds then

Posted by Buygold @ 20:51 on August 22, 2022

The shares usually bottom first, really hope that’s what’s happening.

Impressive they held up today.

Usdx

Posted by redneckokie1 @ 19:20 on August 22, 2022

The usdx is now at a double top. If it breaks this resistance, it could go much higher. That would REALLY hurt some areas of the US economy that is reeling already. The whole agriculture sector is in bad shape and getting worse.

Everyone I know is filling their freezer with beef before herd liquidation. I highly suggest everyone store some food and find “alternate “ source of supply if you live outside an agricultural area.

The dollar will top as it always has, but we must be patient. The pioneers always get the arrows!

Ipso – LOL

I’m going to need more than a twig tree on my hobby ranch if I ever want to make a chocolate bar.  But if I were inclined to start a real agricultural endeavor here, I would get into cacao.  It’s new and growing here, and world supplies are constrained to faraway places.  I see a bright future for Hawaii chocolate.

He was flying by at 18,000+ mph, so we didn’t have much time to chit-chat.  The whole episode was a comedy of errors that led to an awesome contact, complete with a PR photo shoot on his end!

The amazing Cacao tree has another large green pod hanging from it.  The tree is only 5 feet tall with a main trunk only half the size of my wrist.  There are about 3 or 4 tiny pods growing on the branches that may, or may not, make it.  Frequently the small pods drop off.  I keep watering it on days it doesn’t rain here.

What I thought was strange was a Canadian expat living in Mexico had a video of a place where he found get the best exchange rate of Canadian to peso without getting ripped off, also sold silver but they were always out. They have of had a lot of silver there and with US dollars could buy it cheaper back when but usually In jewelry and haggle prices but had to make sure it was real. That was along time ago. Now they have more jobs since the foreign nationals from US, Europe and Canada started moving in with food, entertainment, construction jobs, apartments and condo renting and so forth. There’s students living there with computer learning depending on the electric grid in that area for less than 1000 month including food, shopping and entertainment. Buses for 50 cents US. The best no giant sucking sound of your bank account getting siphoned by the political state of parasites or new IRS agents for those starting businesses.
Some of the traffic going back and forth from border towns is the US citizens living in Mexico driving to work in the US then going back to Mexico.

D’oh!

Trevali halts trading as Burkina Faso managers face trial following fatal mine flooding

Canada-based Trevali Mining (TSX: TV) halted trading on Monday and said two of its managers were being held in Burkina Faso following an April flood that killed eight miners.

The company did not give a reason for the trading halt on the Toronto Stock Exchange. It said it also expected trading to be halted on the Lima Stock Exchange, OTCQX and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, and that its common shares may be delisted.

One of Trevali’s three main operating assets is the Perkoa zinc mine in Burkina Faso, where operations have been suspended since torrential rainfall caused flash flooding on April 16.

The floodwaters breached the mine’s safety controls and submerged the site with eight workers deep underground. Their bodies were found after a long search.

Just a reminder=In 1979-80-gold went from $250 to $850 as interest rates were nearing 20%

Will rising rates and a strong dollar prevent a gold rally in the teeth of hyper-inflation—a loss of confidence

In currencies and a crashing stock market…or will they be a hook to keep gold bugs shut out?

No Sir/Maam no inflation here, none at all…so u keep selling PM’s

Weaponizing The Bureaucracy: Who Will Protect Us From The Government’s Standing Army?

Authored by John & Nisha Whitehead via The Rutherford Institute,

“A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty.”

– James Madison

The IRS has stockpiled 4,500 guns and five million rounds of ammunition in recent years, including 621 shotguns, 539 long-barrel rifles and 15 submachine guns.

The Veterans Administration (VA) purchased 11 million rounds of ammunition (equivalent to 2,800 rounds for each of their officers), along with camouflage uniforms, riot helmets and shields, specialized image enhancement devices and tactical lighting.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) acquired 4 million rounds of ammunition, in addition to 1,300 guns, including five submachine guns and 189 automatic firearms for its Office of Inspector General.

According to an in-depth report on “The Militarization of the U.S. Executive Agencies,” the Social Security Administration secured 800,000 rounds of ammunition for their special agents, as well as armor and guns.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) owns 600 guns. And the Smithsonian now employs 620-armed “special agents.”

This is how it begins.
