The Russian advisors who are being evacuated should insist that the plant be brought to safe and orderly shutdown conditions NOW ! If they do so , restart will be much simpler than a SCRAM emergency poisoning of the reactor core . The latter creates a condition which makes a return to criticality lengthy and with greater difficulty .

My last ‘job’ was to take over the lead for water chemistry monitoring equipment for a Russian twin unit reactor complex in the former Czech Republic while it was pre-operational .

Well metals hit, oil up. Trying to hold gold down isn’t gonna save the dollar or stop inflation and the resulting recession it will cause and further consequences by this war and increasing the depth of it and debt and possible result in rising interest rates anymore than oil prices going up. Oil by itself doesn’t make it a reserve like gold but the printers and spenders dumped it to dig more holes for us.
I hope we don’t bomb them while progress is being made stopping the war. What can a few days delay hurt?
