The military government or the governments military.. or militia’s.. or gangs in some places. Just makes it more risky to invest in those countries. I feel bad for the innocent men trying to make a living especially when that’s their key or only asset, work. Like so many across the world.

Now because all the indecision and non permanence and perhaps interference with the Strait it’s going to cause permanent changes in trade and loss of the number of ships going through.

that despite having stolen half of every gold mine in the country, and the whole of many other assets, they can’t defend their ill gotten gains with the help of the Russians. Sums up Africa in a nutshell. I mean, look at the town in the X video. What is there worth fighting for?

But yes, who is financing the insurgents? China, via Neville? CIA? Probably not Iran.

Check this convoy. The rebels seem well financed.

Convoy of jihadist militants with Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) seen moving south through the town of Kati just to the northwest of Mali’s capital Bamako, with small clashes reportedly taking place against elements of the Malian Army and Russia’s Africa Corps.

🇲🇱 Mali’s government is losing its grip.

Rebel groups (FLA) and Al-Qaeda-linked militants (JNIM) have teamed up to retake Kidal, a major northern city. They kicked out the Malian army and their Russian mercenaries (Africa Corps), even tearing down their flags.

More shockingly, fighting has reached Kati, a military hub just 15 kilometres away from the capital city, Bamako.

If Kati falls, the entire government could collapse.

🚨🇲🇱 TERRORIST ATTACK KILLS MALI’S PRESIDENCY SECRETARY-GENERAL

He was reportedly killed when his convoy was ambushed near Kerela, around 140 km from the capital, Bamako.

While it’s not yet clear who carried out the attack, the prime suspects are groups linked to al-Qaeda and ISIS that have expanded operations in rural areas, while the government struggles to maintain control outside major cities.

The attack comes as Mali remains deeply unstable, following a 2021 coup that brought a military junta to power and severed the country’s ties with France and UN peacekeepers.
