🚨🇲🇱 TERRORIST ATTACK KILLS MALI’S PRESIDENCY SECRETARY-GENERAL
He was reportedly killed when his convoy was ambushed near Kerela, around 140 km from the capital, Bamako.
While it’s not yet clear who carried out the attack, the prime suspects are groups linked to al-Qaeda and ISIS that have expanded operations in rural areas, while the government struggles to maintain control outside major cities.
The attack comes as Mali remains deeply unstable, following a 2021 coup that brought a military junta to power and severed the country’s ties with France and UN peacekeepers.
