I would have thought a shareholder buying 15% of the float would have caused the SP to increase. Maybe if they sold their holdings tomorrow it wouldn’t decrease, who knows.
Investopedia? Why would they even look at Tether? You can’t ‘invest’ in it, it is a private company. It doesn’t, as they claim, have a market cap. of $189bn, that’s the value of their assets. Against which they have liabilities of $183bn. You don’t get a dividend or capital appreciation from holding a token. You use Tether to complete a purchase or sale much in the same way as you use a courier to deliver or receive a physical item that you’ve sold or purchased.
