We have a few problems with that.
They outsourced a lot of those jobs and I don’t see congress with any know how to bring them back.
With new technology we’re dependent on China for those materials.
They outsourced medicine and most of the antibiotics.
AI and computers is fixing to take over jobs like some machines did and robots next.
Now they want to attack agriculture.
We need more tree farms for both domestic manufacturing and export instead of deforestation.
We need to bring the jobs back first and have more than one resources for the materials.
I remember when not just cars but made about everything here. Food processing and packaging, toys, furniture, cloths, shoes. Iron, steel, engines, guessing Kirby vacuums, machinery including domestic machines like sewing, medicine you name it. Also increase delivery service including railroad workers.
Besides some things outdated now what was the biggest problem? The blood sucking government of today and sometimes unions. So they need written in stone reforms to stay off their back. That includes energy companies.

Re The Feds Higher Rates, and Gold’s Price
Around the middle of 2020 the ten year bottomed at around 1/2 of 1%, and gold was around $2,000. Today the ten year is about 3.72%, that 644% higher. And today, two years later with rates 644% higher, Gold is STILL around $2,000/oz. If the Fed did NOT raise rates, Gold would be probably $4,000/oz today. So the Fed can’t possibly win against Gold without raising rates even higher.

The USD is down a little but that could change, looks like the 10 yr. is down 5 bips. At least right now we’re getting a little bounce. Shares are a little tentative, so we’ll see what happens to pm’s going into the SM open.
I don’t really see a breakdown in the dollar unless the BRICS get real. Even then, the USD could hold it’s value simply based on the fact that the DXY is full of other fiat currencies. Obviously though, if the BRICS back with gold, the USD would be worthless to the resource-based countries.
Clearly the scum is doing their level best to keep us in the tank and scare everyone out of their positions, it’s worked on me for two decades…
