Re NFGFF New Found Gold Reports 1,131 g/t Au? Huh? Whaaaat? Crams Per Ton?

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 12:15 on September 23, 2021

Back in the old days 1 ounce per ton was very good. Lately its harder to get and miners would be lucky to get 1/4 – 1/2 ounce per ton .25 to .50 ounce per ton.

So, 1,131 Grams is equal to 2.5 POUNDS of Gold per Ton. Re the g/t maybe they mean GRAINS per ton and trying to fool people. 1,131 Grains equals .161 ounces per ton.

Maybe they are assaying gold nuggets?? One Troy Ounce is 31.104 Grams. 1,131 Grams per ton??

google info:

As gold usually appears in very low concentrations in mineral deposits, it is usually measured in grams per tonne, and the average ore grade can vary significantly from one mine to another. Usually open cut mines have lower grades, around 1 to 4 g/t, while underground mines can reach up to 8 to 10 g/t

Note 10 gram per ton 1/3 ounce/ton.

The Fosterville mine has the highest grade in the world with 42.4 grams per tonne at the time of the report. It is 100% owned by Canadian gold mining company Kirkland Lake Gold. The mine was acquired following the company’s takeover of Australian miner Newmarket Gold in 2016.
