Inflation Story: Brand New 1975 Chevy K5 Blazer Sold For $112,000 on 2/25/21 These days A Factor of 15 or 20 times More From 1975 To today

This Truck looks like somebody bought it, and never used it. The $6,350 he paid in 1975 was about 6 months of middle class cops pay, $12,000 back then. Today the cops or middle class is conservatively over $200,000k when you add benefits.

So 6 months of the same pay is $100,000 today. So, the $112,000 is TODAY, almost the exactly what the truck cost new. Six months of middle class man hours then, and today.

The storage 46 years of storage was FREE. The new owner did NOT have to pay a premium just because its a collectible today. New owner paid the same in man hours and dollars as the original owner.

$55,200 worth of storage at $100/month. Its a STEAL at $112,000. A new Chevy 4X4 pickup today I think is $70,000+? But not as well made or simple to fix.  For the original owner to break even, he would need $112,000 + $55,200 or $167,200.
