City Council President Cancels ‘Private LAPD Protection’ Outside Home After Moving to Cut LAPD Budget

An investigative reporter found a “private LAPD protection detail” outside the home of Los Angeles City Council President Nury Martinez after she introduced a motion to cut the department’s budget by $150 million.

The LAPD detail appeared in April but was “canceled Thursday night” when Spectrum News contacted Martinez for comment.

“After death threats to the Council President and her daughter and safety concerns that began over a month ago, LAPD recommended that placing a detail at her home was the best course of action to ensure the safety of the Council President and her family,” Rick Coca, a Martinez spokesman, told the news station.

Natalie Brunell of Spectrum News found a squad car outside Martinez’s residence providing “round-the-clock protection” that was “often staffed by two officers.”

I have a theory about the Fed meetings. They meet so much because they party and drink a lot. That would explain much of their decision making!

Gundlach Warns Stock Market Likely To Fall From “Lofty Perch” Despite “Superman” Powell, Says Buy Gold

“The big, experienced smart money is skeptical of this little-guy created, epic rally.”

“In the long term, the bond manager is bullish on gold, saying it will reach new highs. Alternatively, he’s sticking to his weak-dollar call, saying the greenback can devalue against most other currencies”

Can’t believe we have another Fed meeting tomorrow already. They’ll do what they’ve gotta do, whether it’s rescue the USD or whatever else. Hard to believe they can be too bearish because the can’t spook the SM no matter what they say. Then again, I suppose they can say anything and follow it up with a several billion dump into the SM to rally things higher.

Markets? What markets? Only manipulations.

Huge amount of puts bought on Apple for June 12th from the $45 strike to the $33 strike

Posted by Richard640 @ 15:37 on June 9, 2020

Any thoughts on this besides the obvious contrary take that it’s bullish? I mean who has the money to play options with 3 days left–they gotta be well funded…let’s say  it’s holders who are hedging their long stock positions and it’s hooked up to Fridays opex…fine…but the writers are incurring huge risk too..the $345 put is $500 each and has 9400 volume-that’s a lotta coin

@COMEX Players, Question, Try To Find Out What Kind Of COPPER They Sell On COMEX

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 13:54 on June 9, 2020

Is it SCRAP Copper wire with the insulation still on it?  Copper Wall Street Comex price today is $2.59 per pound that’s 16 cents an ounce???? C’mon, This nonsense has to be figured out. I tried searching, I can’t find out what the HELL they are selling for $2.69/lb and .16 cents an ounce. 95% pure ingots??

A roll of copper refrigerator tube is $33.49 and weighs 2.68 lbs, comes to $12.49/lb

https://www.truevalue.com/catalog/product/view/id/68350/s/copper-refrigerator-tube-0-375-in-o-d-x-20-ft/category/6757/

Copper 1/oz coins are $1-$2/oz, or $16-$32/lb.

I thought the market always supplied perfect information on commercial conditions, and was essentially self-correcting in real time. This virtue made market economies far superior to any form of Central Planning.

“Don’t Fight The Fed” has been changed to…”Don’t Worry About The Fed”

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 12:01 on June 9, 2020

It seems like they don’t care about how high gold goes, how high or low the dollar goes, or how low interest rates go, and they don’t care about how high the national debt, trade deficits go, or how high they pump up the money supply.

If they don’t care about the above things, if means they are resigned, and have no control over those things and they have nothing to lose re those things. They are boxed in, and I’m sure have sweat on their upper lips, and maybe “hash marks” in their white jockey shorts.

What do they care about? Looks like retail sales, consumer spending, they want people to have some free US Treasury money to piss away on imported crap, they want people to take out loans (instead of building up savings accounts) The care desperately about Stocks Bonds and real estate.

Gold is sneaking up nice relatively slow and quietly, not in the news, and if the regular Dow SnP people keep making profits, maybe they’ll invest some in our play ground.

Anybody watching my S&W?? The other day I drove by TnT Gunnery and a line around the corner, waiting turns to get in.
