Captain–great point about the double top–but, perhaps, inadvertantly–u have set the conditions for a good short trade, finally

Posted by Richard640 @ 11:54 on June 3, 2020

As the NAZ breaks thru the double top today… thursday and again….then on friday on the open…Fiday mornings opening surge will be devoid of the NAZ shorting club members…THEN it will roll over, creating a false breakout failure…and friday ends down 2000 DOW points….[giggle…or so the fantasy goes]…

But hey! Let’s sit and look at paper profits on a Bloomberg screen as a delicious meal is about to be delivered by a gig worker risking Covid-19 and street robbery and who earns less than the minimum wage! Everything everywhere is being resolved Hollywood style, right?

Meanwhile, back in the home of the real Hollywood, nationwide street protests show few signs of abating – and markets keep going up and risk remains on. There are two equally-depressing conclusions here: 1) We no longer have actual markets due to central-bank elevation of moral hazard to the foundational pillar of financial capitalism; 2) We still have markets, but they find the idea of the US military operating on the streets to quell popular unrest to be reassuring – just as it would be in a banana republic where the asset holders are traditionally happy to do ‘whatever it takes’ to keep the peasants in line (incidentally, this may not be too far off; see “It’s Official: The United States Is Now A Banana Republic“.

Like the one ominous black spot on X-ray of an otherwise perfectly healthy looking pancreas, Apple—the U.S. stock market bellweather— [all the other FANG stocks are down]—is up just 38 cents—this is the only blemish I can find in todays market profile…

@Buygold re your “Interesting that we’ve been getting whacked as the USD has been falling”

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 11:23 on June 3, 2020

Maybe its time to get bullish on the Dopey/Dollar?

USD was propelled up in April then went choppy lateral.

I guess maybe not all that interesting, the scum does what they want.

Surprised we haven’t seen any dip buyers show up, BTD has been working for awhile in pm’s and shares…

I picked up some NEM @ $55.44 – we’ll see if I’m the greater fool.

That’s exactly what is happening with that piece of crap. Stupids short it and it continues to trade way above its fundamental value.

The Nasdaq is now back at the highs. Idiot specs, who are only semi-conscious, are saying to themselves, I’m pressing my bet here at the ‘double top’ — these stocks are way overvalued — they can’t possibly go higher.

Then they wake up tomorrow and stocks are higher because of them — then they cover send stocks even higher.

I think once the highs have been exceeded techs will top because the idiots specs won’t know what to think other than ‘I guess it’s a bull’. I don’t know what happens after that in terms of how much stocks will go down, but then I don’t worry about that.

I just do the opposite of the idiot consensus.

Cheers

the death of retailng and the death of malls

Posted by Richard640 @ 10:51 on June 3, 2020
talk of the death of retailng and the death of malls has been going on at least 10-15 yrs…and I believe in that thesis…I have been watching Simon properties for a long time and have been amazed at how strong it has been….in 2016 it was about $220…now with public hyper awareness of infection—not just to covid…there were 50 million flu cases in the u.s. last year—I can’t see the malls ever recovering to their pre-covid level…all of which makes my jaw drop in wonder today seeing simon up $8.0 today

As explained many times here, it’s the machines squeezing out the broad market index put buyers and short sellers.

It’s that simple.

The gamblers are addicted and won’t stop until they are broke.

Of course this does not make for good ‘doom porn’ or justify the geniuses that work on Wall Street; so, you won’t hear this story in the mainstream much. (some others have pointed this out recently too – but it falls on deaf ears).

Cheers

I hope that all of you realize we US citizens are being set up for the epic collapse of our country.  You can see all of the tumblers starting to line up.  We are being lied to in every aspect of our lives to drive us insane.   We are flying without a functioning dashboard and we are going to smack into the side of a mountain at max speed.  This is a repeat of the fall of the USSR.  Peak corruption and lies.  I have been tirelessly searching for a way out but so far nothing.  Any ideas out there?

Wake me when 3 million new career level jobs are being added each month.

University MBAs are being retooled to offer majors in Bottle Picking, Dumpster Diving, Community Gardening, Online Gambling & Pimping.

Whatever became of the ~96 million who were out of,the workforce pre-Coronahoax?  Did they all expatriate?

Blurry, blinkered tunnel vision abounds.

First U.S. Gold Coin May Fetch $15 Million in Private Sale

Posted by ipso facto @ 9:25 on June 3, 2020

One of the world’s most coveted coins is coming to the market.

The Brasher Doubloon, the first gold coin struck in the U.S., is being offered privately at a $15 million asking price, according to numismatic adviser Jeff Sherid. His firm, Los Angeles-based PCAG Inc., is marketing the coin on behalf of a collector he would only identify as a former Wall Street executive.

The doubloon is dated 1787 — 11 years after the Declaration of Independence was signed, the same year the Constitution was written and five years before the federal mint opened in Philadelphia. Metalsmith Ephraim Brasher, George Washington’s next-door neighbor on New York’s Cherry Street, privately minted a small batch of the coins and punched this unique version with his hallmark “EB” on the eagle’s breast. The soon-to-be president almost certainly handled it, according to longtime numismatist John Albanese, founder of Certified Acceptance Corp., a coin-grade verification service.

“If you talk to coin nerds and old-time experts, I’m guessing they’d all say the Brasher Doubloon is the greatest coin ever because of the history,” Albanese said.

recently said he only invests where there is the RULE Of LAW  !   I wonder what he thinks of stock market investing given the current outlook  ..

I think Markets are way over priced given the “NEW ” “NORMAL” with Riots every night..The corona virus pales in damage done compared to what going on now…Market investors are going to take a “NEW LOOK”at the “NEW NORMAL’ before investing any more…..

Nobody seems to have the right Balance of whats unjust, in Chicago where 13 people are shot every week end and nobody cares ,the media is silent about it.

But one police men kills somebody while subduing a counterfeit bill passing and the whole country is on FIRE.  Where is the Balance and good judgement ?

Its crazy hysteria ,a mental problem….!

Hawaii Status

Posted by Maya @ 1:15 on June 3, 2020

No new cases again in Hawaii.  Governor is easing restrictions a bit.  June 16 will be the end of the interisland travel quarantine for local residents.  14 day quarantine remains in effect for overseas arrivals.  New quarantine and tracking information forms required for all arrivals to Hawaii.  New spacing lines and self-check in at Hawaiian Air for interisland travel.  No middle seats in the planes in use to space interisland passengers apart, unless a family unit specifically selects to stay together.

We still have social distance rules, and masks required for business access.  Some dining areas may be open by the end of the month.  Most are still take-out only.  Most low-contact business open as we slowly restart the local economy.  State is now focusing on visitor arrivals, proper quarantine and contact tracing database as we slowly start to accept limited visitors to the state.  We shall see how much of a bump in case load we get.
