hurricane season…

Posted by treefrog @ 13:23 on May 27, 2018

beginning a little early this year.  tropical storm alberto is in the gulf, not presently expected to strengthen to hurricane strength before landfall tomorrow morning somewhere in the florida panhandle (panama city?)

expected to pass 75-100 mi. (?) to the west of treefrog manor, giving us blustery winds and LOTS OF RAIN.  no serious worries, TFM sits on high ground, and i built it so that it would be the last building standing in the neighborhood.

more information than anybody needs:

https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

update 10:00 pm sunday.  following forecast, looks to be passing west of here.  gusty winds, maybe 40 mph tops, lots of rain.  no worries.

Don’t think this is fake news.

What I’m learning although not into futures like you would be or guessing this time around would be muni’s bull and bear. Now see you don’t need that zero hedge lol
PS less a real crash don’t be in long.

ZH===what’s the cheapest way to hedge against a crash scenario?

Posted by Richard640 @ 9:37 on May 27, 2018
So the question is – what’s the cheapest way to hedge against a crash scenario?
Bank of America’s Jason Galazidis has some answers…
Ranked by the average, the screen below shows that the hedges which are most underpricing historical drawdowns are:
Gold calls, US HY Credit hedges and EUR 10y receivers
And so – once again – the precious metal regains ‘most-favored-nation’ status as the world’s emerging markets collapse and economic reality washes ashore on the banks of the river-of-excess-debt…

Sentiment alert–after an absence of doom articles about the finance markets, ZH has these 3 and a few others this a.m.

Top Restructuring Banker: “We’re All Feeling Like Where We Were Back In 2007”——–

What he is referring to is not just the overall level of exuberance, but the lunacy taking place in the bond market, where CLOs are being created at a record pace, where CCC-rated junk bonds can’t be sold fast enough, and where the a yield-starved generation of investors who have never seen a fair and efficient market without Fed backstops, means that the coming bond-driven crash wil be spectacular.
“Even if there is not a recession or credit correction, with the sheer volume of issuance there are going to be defaults that take place,” said Neil Augustine, cohead of the restructuring practice at Greenhill & Co.
The dynamic is familiar: since 2009, the level of global nonfinancial junk-rated companies has soared by 58% representing $3.7 trillion in outstanding debt, the highest ever, with 40%, or $2 trillion, rated B1 or lower. Putting this in contest, since 2009, US corporate debt has increased by 49%, hitting a record total of $8.8 trillion, much of that debt used to fund stock repurchases.  As a percentage of GDP, corporate debt is at a level which on ever prior occasion, a financial crisis has followed.

Thar She Flows!

This is an IR image, so it makes the hot lava look super bright.  The lava flow is about 3 miles long, for scale.  I can see where my house is, five miles north of the eruption.  See the green roof?  🙂

Pretty wild looking although limited to a small portion of the island

The devils never stop the warmongering…

“The State Department warnings come at the end of a week in which Syrian state media claimed US fighter jets attacked Syrian Army positions in the eastern desert near the Iraq border overnight Wednesday, which reportedly killed 12 pro-government fighters.

The US, however, has denied any involvement: “We have no operational reporting of a U.S.-led coalition strike against pro-Syrian regime targets or forces,” CENTCOM spokesman Captain Bill Urban said in a statement. And a separate Pentagon spokesman said, “These reports are false, the coalition did not strike any Syrian army positions in eastern Syria.”

And less than 24 hours later, another airstrike on a base in central Syria is widely reported to have involved Israel, believed to have targeted a Hezbollah weapons depot.

Notably, a Reuters report acknowledges the US warning issued late Friday comes as 1) Syrian government forces have cleaned out the last ISIS pockets in the country’s south; and 2) Damascus is now “in its strongest position since the early months of the war in 2011”. Reuters notes further that the government has “recaptured all remaining insurgent areas near Damascus in recent weeks, including the densely populated eastern Ghouta area, as well as big enclaves in central Syria.”

So essentially while warning against “Assad regime violations” and expansion, the State Department is reasserting the US position that Syria cannot “expand” within its own sovereign borders (borders obviously long recognized internationally and by the United Nations).

The Syrian Army is making preparations to move deeper into the southern province of Deraa where fighting began during the opening months the war starting in 2011. Syrian state media has reported that government planes are dropping leaflets over towns in the region, warning anti-Assad forces that they must disarm or face military attack.”

The Secret Power Behind Assad and Syria

Posted by Buygold @ 15:17 on May 26, 2018

We have nearly destroyed Syria, one of the few multi-religious nations in the Middle East. Despite what the western MSM says about Assad, he is not a brutal dictator.

“Nothing tests the character of a man or woman more
than ruthless, relentless and unwarranted persecution.”

Certainly there are numerous instances of various VIPs and political leaders who have been taken down by the Mockingbird Media.  Those who control the Zio-Anglo-American Axis always resort to grotesque acts of defamation of character to ruin a targeted reputation.  Anyone in a significant position of power who does not bend to the will of the World Shadow Government is eventually assailed by the press like there’s no tomorrow.

What makes the utterly fabricated case against Asma al-Assad so unique was the extraordinary speed and savagery of her takedown by the press.  In point of fact, the transparent campaign of vilification launched against her revealed the true workings of the MSM like no other.  The entire Corporate Media exposed itself after the following accurate article about the First Lady was published by VOGUE in February of 2011.

The Secret Power Behind Syrian President Bashar al-Assad

I had some relatives on my moms side who got out of Hungary prior to WW11 as a great grandma saw the signs. Not just Christians and Catholics as my Great Grandma was Catholic who I gave a couple of her silver rosary crosses to two nephews when they got older because their mother half American half South American born in SA who died young was catholic. Doctors overlooked she had pneumonia and I was out of town over a death of a relative at the time. Couple others for grandchildren later. Family mixed in religion and if Jewish didn’t get out they went straight to the ovens.
They helped refugees ” real ones” coming in when they lived in Illinois from Hungary and other places.
Later met a girl in Denver a little older than me they knew who was Hungarian who was a child in the 50 s who told me how scary it was. How people were shooting st them and people around them getting shot and she could hear people crying. She said the most dangerous time she remembered was getting through a fence.

Notice Clapper’s devilish ears when he lies. Oh we wernt spying on Trump we were looking for Russians.
Thing is foreign countries like Russia were looking to bug in and even influence elections even before them for years and they know it. They’re lying left and right. Oh we got purgery on a couple already leaving out it had nothing to do with collusion to mislead then turn around saying they don’t think Flynn lied. They trip people up or like Flynn can just accuse them of lying. They’ll do the same to Trump. How many can remember what they did and said a year ago on Sunday.
Trump refusing to be grilled by Mueller under oath has nothing to do about Colluding and is NOT going to affect the elections like they are trying to insinuate to push Trump into it. It’s others who are irrelvant that are worried about there’s and should be because they’re doing nothing to back Trump so tough for them who maybe playing both sides anyways.

Talking to people who lived behind the Iron Curtain it becomes very clear that that is not a pleasant or beneficial life for the citizens. Remember all the people who risked their lives crossing the wall to get out of E. Germany, many being killed to do so? Let’s pray this gov system never takes hold here in the USA.

“Cut his throat” Yikes that would make me a bit nervous too!

Cheers

Clapper: The FBI Wasn’t Spying On Trump, It Was “Benign Information Gathering”

Posted by Maya @ 22:05 on May 25, 2018

BWAAAA… HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

(gasp)… and THEN he said:

Clapper said that the President “deliberately spun it,” likening it to “George Orwell – up is down, black is white, peace is war.”

OMFG!!    Doublespeak is alive and well in the SWAMP.

Treasonous attempted Coup of a duly elected President… Investigate THAT you Feral Bungle of Incompetents.

We… the people… are all hostages of this machine.

(I expect another troll any day here to ‘correct my wrong thinking’, to paraphrase the last one.)

IPSO – Yes scary

Particularly for me , since I grew up in a home which harbored escapees from behind the Iron Curtain from about age ten . First a young German who swam to freedom in late fall or early winter with border guards shooting at him , and later several Hungarians after the 1956 revolt who stayed in our home for a few years . One had to slit a Russian soldier’s throat to escape . That one always made me nervous , because he never seemed too stable .

Lots of weight slanted against the Conservatives these days.

I’m sure you saw that poll of millennials where about half of them thought socialism was a great idea. Talk about ignorance. Scary!

There seems to be a different standard if one is on the left , and protected by a cadre of like minded bureaucrats . It is rather like someone trying to fight by the Marquis de Queensbury rules in a gutter brawl with someone using a stiletto .

Surrendered her license to practice in Illinois – that is a step to be taken just before disbarment to avoid the shame of having the license yanked publicly . I am not sure about BHO .
