Trump has reportedly selected Larry Kudlow to replace Cohn as chief economic advisor. Kudlow, like Ben Stein, isn’t really an economist (he has a BA in history), but he does play one on TV. He is an unabashed Art Laffer disciple, and sucker of the supply-side teat.
Kudlow does have a stainless-steel nose with no remaining septum and a bore like a howitzer. According to Wikipedia, he once sported a $100,000/mo. cocaine habit. Let’s break that down. Street price for cocaine is around $100/gram. So, if he was scoring off a street-corner, he was doing a kilo of blow a month, or around 32 grams/day. Realistically, if you are honking at Kudlow’s rate, you buy in bulk. Cocaine by the kilogram is worth about $20,000/kilo. So, assuming that an economist would try to get the best deal, he was doing 5 kilo/month. That is 10 lb. of coke a month, which is a prodigious amount of marching powders! The dude had to be cutting out lines with a road grader and Hoovering them up with a straw the size of a sewer pipe. I bet he got a lot done, though…

I’m selling Mad Larry at 6 months, though I doubt he will last anywhere near that. Just reading yr links tells me he can’t keep his mouth shut for 5 seconds, plus his brain has to be shot on 100 K/month of Blow…..someone else calculated that as 4 or 5 kilo’s….which is a bulk price and works out at 166/grams/day, an impossible amount to snort.
If he was paying street prices then @ $ 100/Gram would more like it back then, which still means 1000 gram/month or over 30/day…I’d guess he was useing $ 100 K PA, which is @ 2 3/4 gram/day…still one hell of a lot….that was a bad habit.
So his brain is shot and he now will be acting like a dog with two dicks, no way will he not be tipping off the likes of Cramer etc, before he shoots his mouth off….The Donald will have to fire him any minute.
What does he want to create deflation? Is he trying to insinuate there is a inverse relationship between gold and dollar? Looks like it and that’s not always so when all things of value start going up. He should know that.
I think all of the drugs he consumed has warped his brain. He’s an eternal optimist who never sees the realities of fractional reserve debt ridden economies. Just my humble opinion.

Plane loses its $368 million cargo of gold, platinum and diamonds on takeoff
The plane with ten tons of gold, platinum and diamonds lost part of its cargo after taking off from Yakutsk airport today.
More rained down as the aircraft gained height.
The Nimbus Airlines AN-12 cargo plane hit problems during takeoff; the treasures fell out of the hold all over the runway.
The plane then dropped some bars of gold as far as 26 kilometres from the airport.
The crew decided to land at the nearby airport of Magan, some 26 kilometres north-west of Yakutsk.
Police sealed off the runway and a vast search is underway.

A lot of these miners will sell shares in a downturn or worse do RS to pay their bills. They’re dangerous to hold after the top is in at that time after a bounce. Not the same when it was continuously moving up and were only talking about pullbacks. Year after year it eats at their profits. Worse are the explorers who didn’t have much in the first place.
