USD drifting lower, gold flat, silver up a few cents

SM futures ripping higher

They painted a daily reversal in Au ystdy and in the Eur/usd, Jpy and Dollar index…so we may be in, as u say for a correction here….we have had a $120 run in AU and what better time to stamp on it, than while out in Davos.

No other market trades like PMs…no wonder so few get on board for rallies…the day should be interesting…

i’s 6:15  am…so that’s the deal, eh? The $ index is down .537…but no matter…the Govvie has ordered the G&S rally to be nipped in the bud…gold’s down $10 and silver’s down 17…so at least we know where we stand and what we’re dealing with…

Update for 8:47 pm ET: Arianespace representatives have reported that the SES-14 and Al Yah 3 satellites are in their expected orbits after the company lost contact with its Ariane 5 rocket’s upper stage during tonight’s launch. Here’s the latest statement from Arianespace:

“The launcher’s liftoff took place on January 25, 2018 at 7:20 pm. A few seconds after ignition of the upper stage, the second tracking station located in Natal, Brazil, did not acquire the launcher telemetry. This lack of telemetry lasted throughout the rest of powered flight. Subsequently, both satellites were confirmed separated, acquired and they are on orbit. SES-14 and Al Yah 3 are communicating with their respective control centers. Both missions are continuing.”

Agree scum covered nothing, as u say they don’t need to, but loads of the bastards are all out in Davos and what better way to keep them all happy and in line, than to give them such a present…..Good idea to short Gold above 1360 tdy, old boy…..as we will slam it…..they are the ones who covered, a quick 15 bucks or so on a hundred lots ….

I don’t think they covered shite. They never HAVE to cover – they are banks.

Bottom line is that the USD ended up – barely. Yet pm’s were crushed after miniscule gains when the USD was down bigly and pm’s did nothing.

They’ve continued their message – don’t touch anything pm’s – ever.

I’ll go out on a limb and say the USD will be right back down again tomorrow and gold will struggle with 1340

I’m assuming the central planners think their puppets playing the futures market are pushing dollar too low too fast, (in the right direction) but interrupting the move today and giving the dollar shorts some fear and short covering.
