Giving massive tax cuts to the bailout class on the theory that the bread crumbs will fall onto the heads of the indolent masses, has been tried twice before already.

There are dunces and then there’s Larry Kudlow:

Republicans are looking to create broad-based prosperity by taking a policy that has generated broad-based poverty for 37 years, to level ’11’. It makes perfect sense to anyone with an IQ of 0 or lower.

Giving massive tax cuts to the bailout class on the theory that the bread crumbs will fall onto the heads of the indolent masses, has been tried twice before already. Each iteration leading to more job insecurity, more financial insecurity, and far more debt. Nevertheless, here they go again. It never once occurs to any of them that only by directly increasing the incomes of the middle class, can the roller coaster ride to penury end. But these are not bright people. They’re serial failures, and their main skill is conning idiots.

The locus of imminent failure for this third iteration of the experiment of course comes on the monetary policy side. As the term “inflation” makes its way into the Wall Street lexicon, the bond market and even the dullards in the Fed begin to take notice. Even though there is actually no broad-based inflation, especially not in wages; however any minor lift in wages is seen as a threat to the temple of debt. Under the *free trade* race to the bottom, real wages can fall continuously, but they can never rise. Lest they pose a threat to corporate profit margins.

Therefore, working in close collaboration, the Fed and Republicans are generating insolvency for the U.S. middle class:

The problem besides incompetitent and crooked Gov is apathy. People have this I got mine you get yours attitude. I saw just how selfish some can be when a woman who was forced into early retirement like so many or for health reasons which will get worse as they keep raising the age. A teacher was bragging how she wasn’t gonna pay for it because she worked and got a good pension too. How ironic, tax dependent pension but she’s not gonna pay for it. Most tax payers don’t have pensions.
What you could do but most can’t due to rising prices and other bills that come along is save save so if you buy a house you pay at least most of it cash and wait for a bottom in the market. Then you’ll have to worry about property taxes going up unless people get on them.
In Calif what gets me thinking what’s going on is when I see a lower cost housing put up very rarely the immigrants take over and crime winds up going up in that area. They will only vote for themselves over immigration not taxes, jobs, wages, or other issues that affect us and don’t need a ID to vote. Although at the same time many just trying to survive too and don’t want the crime or gangs either.
In Calif they just showed a tiny apt for supposed to be low cost housing sale in SF and it was like 300k. However they’re laying safe spaces for homeless to park their cars to sleep. How nice

Batten Down, Winedoc. Winter Hurricane coming

Posted by Maya @ 13:33 on January 3, 2018

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-01-02/bomb-cyclone-set-detonate-east-coast

They call it a ‘bomb’… but all the facts fit the definition of “Hurricane”…. except it formed in the winter and not in tropical waters.    This illustrates how corrupt ‘science’ really is.  Hurricanes are not powered by warm water, but we cannot let that fact escape into the public awareness.

Hurricanes… tropical or winter or even mid-continent formations are powered by atmospheric electrical conditions and winds.  They all share the same characteristics:   A large circulating vortex with a low central pressure, and circulating winds in excess of 75 mph.

Anyway…. Florida and Georgia can take comfort that it will be much worse up north in New Yawk.  Listen to the media squawk about ‘climate change’.  Ice age, anyone?

Winedoc is probably used to this kind of thing up in the Maritimes.

Be Still My Heart if only a good portion of this is true!

I’m with Goldilocks

Posted by eeos @ 13:19 on January 3, 2018

I think the United States is it is in the midst of an affordable housing crisis. There’s many people like me who have never owned a home. It’s completely out of reach and cars have become the same way. Families have to make a half million dollars a year just to buy anything. I’m personally tired of being scammed and I’m also sick of inflation. I’m sick of Perpetual taxes while my neighbors are eating steaks on me.

So what I propose is a huge change to the building code and we need to allow tiny homes into the building code. It only makes sense and they need to stop fighting the tiny home movement. They’re going to have to fix the tax code to because people like me in the future aren’t going to work if they’re going to take so much in tax. I’ll just hide underground or find some other way to screw over the government.

Buygold Ipso

Posted by goldielocks @ 13:04 on January 3, 2018

Buygold I’m thinking but just guessing phyzz holding because people aren’t selling. Who knows maybe buying. But stocks a different matter and GBs selling off position trades on expectation of a temp top or selling by big money.
Yes we’re seeing signs of inflation. Blue states are suffering tax inflation and homelessness rising. If anything they need to build low cost housing for both family’s with kids not ghettos, and for seniors on limited SS. They gave them a raise but raised their healthcare with it. Feinstein wants billions to illegals while they have family’s homeless in Calif. Even someone with three kids in Florida divorced who was a mom and good mom which is a job suddenly looking for a job and wondering how she’s gonna make it even with child support. They don’t have time for a degree then have to worry about child care.
Then there’s others who abuse it. My youngest daughters others X gets about 800 plus medical for his twin boy and girl 8 yrs. They had them on Christmas Eve and I told my daughter might as well give them their presents that day since they’re going home on Christmas.she said no they believe in Santa and she didn’t want to spoil Christmas because she don’t trust her. Sure enough that night Christmas Eve she called them told them she couldn’t afford Christmas that year so you keep them. Tells them at the last minute. If my daughter didn’t wait they would of had nothing for Christmas, I kicked in got them iPads and electric scooters. Not for that pos mom but for the kids. Then she asked them to watch them so she could go to Tahoe but couldn’t afford to buy a few presents for the kids.

Ipso, I’m wondering too about Pal.
Have to watch both car sales and the Feds interest rates warnings. It can affect new housing, aluminum, etc too. So pretty predictable buy sell points.
Meanwhile CMC commercial metals in Florida and teamed with a Brazilian manufacturer growing even Vale recouped that does iron copper etc. makes for nervous long term trades.
Infrastructure may be something to watch though that will move some stocks possible CMC Vale et all and will be coming up on political agenda at some point although there are other things to worry about.

Palladium Panic-Bid To Record Highs As Shortage Fears Mount

Posted by ipso facto @ 11:39 on January 3, 2018

Palladium was up 55% in 2017 – the best performing commodity in the world – and if the first two days of this year are anything to go by, 2018 will see a repeat.

Palladium inventories in warehouses tracked by Nymex shrank 25 percent in December, capping a fourth straight annual decline, the longest streak since 2000.

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-01-03/palladium-panic-bid-record-highs-shortage-fears-mount

My comment: What happens to the price of palladium when vehicle sales decline? Price could be close to a high.

If you see or hear pets outside say something or go get them if you can. There’s no shortage of abuse. Two pets already found frozen to death. One was by accident he claims it got outside and he was staying somewhere else because power went out and left his two dogs there and was going back to feed them. One was found frozen solid on a porch by neighbors another shivering inside. I’m thinking didn’t they hear the dog? The other a little dog was purposely left outside to freeze to death.

re Sunspots…..I doubt u will see more, as the clowns who advocate GW, have a track record of being wrong about everything, that runs at 100 %.

We are way past the the time, they were called out for their wrong headedness, they should be figures of ridicule by now…instead we still suffer their madness…..ergo the entity that really calls the shots, will continue to make fools out of them.

Prepare accordingly.

Re: Snow in Florida

Posted by Alex Valdor @ 10:18 on January 3, 2018

The next couple of nights will be (relatively) brutal in many parts of North America .
The local weatherman (whom I trust more than most) said last evening that the difference between dew points in Southern FL ( 60 F, moist ) and up near the GA border (Treefrog country, about 10F, extremely dry) indicated a disparity he had never seen in his career in such close geographic proximity .
This cold wave is very rare . Back around 1810 there was a cold year which was referred to as the year without summer . People starved , because crops simply would not grow . Many folks in the world depend on Canadian grain for sustenance . If we are seeing global unrest now , just wait for widespread hunger to spread should Canadian grain crops fail next summer. Not saying this cold spell is a trend and that will happen , but I think the world has more to fear from global cooling than from CO2 . Let’s hope we see more sunspots in 2018 than in 2017 !

Shares getting hit pretty hard

Posted by Buygold @ 9:45 on January 3, 2018

in the early going at least, considering the metals aren’t down much.

Something will correct, either the metals start to get hit hard or the shares edge back up.

I’ll take the shares edging back up for $500 Alex.. 🙂

A little give back today?

Posted by Buygold @ 9:18 on January 3, 2018

I guess to be expected after 13 up days in a row and the USD bouncing a little – but not much.

Seems we’ve had trouble before with $1320 and $17.25 so I guess it’s a logical place to take a pause.

A little surprised we aren’t giving back more though
