That is weird. Hope for the best but expect the worse. Wonder why sea gulls coming in lesss they have a flight path and the quakes messing up their radar.
If you do find yourself heading out hope you have a lot of spare gas cans and know the back roads. Keep the vehicles fully gassed at all time. I don’t know how fast something like that would spread but I’m guessing the immediate area pretty fast. Too fast to do anything but hunker down. I remember vaguely the map and it was pretty wide coving the mid west reaching to Wisconsin.

Unknown on TV trying to use Harvey to bash Trump instead of her buddy mayor.

Posted by goldielocks @ 13:16 on September 4, 2017

She wants to bitch at someone blame her buddy mayor for failing to act when the hurricane was coming their way. But she won’t do that so looks to get the focus off his screw ups my putting it on Trump having to compensate for the mess and deaths they caused. She has no sympathetic bone too immature and thinks it’s a joke. She’s a joke. Do everyone a favor make yourself useful and find a spot where your not in the way and take your mayor with you.

If Yellowstone blows, I’ll need to load the truck, grab the kids and grandkids and head south. Even then, my chances are slim and none.

This feels like earthquake weather used to feel in CA. Hot, dry and no wind.

A few hours before the earthquakes on Saturday, there were thousands of Seagulls, going nuts flying in all directions and in circles. Seagulls in Idaho? From where? Like a scene out of Hitchcock’s “The Birds”

Turns out we had over 60 quakes in a 24 hour period. Nothing to strong, but bizarre.

Hopefully those quakes will just be little ones with something settling and not a big volcanic explosion or a lot of states around you will be buried in ash with no means for people or food trucks to get to you. Keep that in mind and remember you can never have enough water.

Glad to hear your okay. Don’t feel too bad. Someone I know out of Texas not in the flood zone said their second home is the hardware store. They had the to tar the roof cuz hurricane can find leaks normal rain doesn’t. They have no mail yet. They lost power for awhile while city letting water out. I’m guessing those who get their checks sent in mail are hurting right now. I know after a bad quake it’s no fun.
Meanwhile while Bygold shaking were baking with no relief. The heat seems to start settling in at night. Even the TVs went array yesterday guessing due to internet they use now having something to do with power.
In Texas they should have day care so parents can do what they have to do. Or go to work if they still have jobs. Maybe jobs could of set up day care including hospitals with I’d bands on both kids and parents. Internet and power stations maybe in same places they can get meals. Hope they have mobile meals to those who can’t get out and pet food. That Mayor messed up. The money needs to go to the people where needed most.

It’s time to stop oil exports to North Korea as sanctions, experts say

Comment: Sure seems to be like a way to slow down the assperations of Lil Fat Man. Have always thought China and Russia need to contain their crazy son of a puppet since in most part his antics can be placed at their door. Figure they either start helping roll Kim back in line, or dont start whining when Trump settles the issue. Suggest China take heart in the old wisdom of ” You can be part of the solution or part or the problem.” Dont want to hear China complaining about the ‘fallout’ if they are unwilling to participate in the solution.

Ps) I still think Fat Boy is just playing his usual game of throw a tantrum and get his candy given to him to just sit down and shut up before the Winter Olympic Games in S. Korea Feb 2018. I dont think he understands his ‘acting out’ might be met with an act of acting upon by Trump. A grave miscalculation. Trump aint Clinton or Obama. He is a New Yorker that wont take shite off some punk.

Lucked up and won a game. 🙂

Georgia Dawgs won, but lost our number one QB in the first Qtr with some kind of knee injury. Still managed to pull out the game, and have to say, our second string QB not looking too shabby. Course, next weekend the Dawgs head to Notre Dame. Guess I can expect a lesson in humility coming with that one.

Congrats on the win. Cant wait to see ya in the swamp!

That sounds like work! I know what you mean though, once you get started you have to finish and now everything else has to look just as good.

We had 24 earthquakes in a 3 hour period on Saturday. Craziness.

I know I’ve been saying a “couple of months” for a couple of months now but I might need a little more time. 🙂

As for these pm’s, I just don’t know, the banksters have been sitting on them and not allowing any real crazy upside moves, so when you speculate by saying “at least for today” that’s pretty much the truth. The M.O. for long holiday weekends is allow the metals to move up on the holiday and smash it back down on the Tuesday open. I see nothing different to that game plan for tomorrow. They have no intention of allowing gold to get past $1335 in the short term – at least that’s what they’ve been defending for the last 12 hours.

I will say this though, so far the amount of money it has taken to dump on the paper market for the desired effect has increased exponentially. A quarter of a billion last night only got them a few bucks down.

The other thing that is screaming at me is why the USD continues to fall. It’s supposed to be a safe haven, especially in times like these. It feels like big money is slowly divesting. I don’t see why the Yuan is strengthening either.

Maybe all just unfettered hopium. 🙂 Don’t be a stranger around these parts old buddy.

Middlecreek, Hope You Are Faring Well

Seen where you had evacuated and hope things are getting better for you. Heart goes out for all you Texas folks. Sending you a few old geezers from Georgia to lend a hand. Couple friends are part of the Billy Graham gig, Samiterians Purse ?. Anyways, they are packing up their vans and trucks and headed down your way to lend a hand. I keep promising to go with them one of these days but for now I best stick around here and finish up this mess of projects I have started.

You ever meet another ‘lost’ goldbug that went by the handle of ‘Aggie’? Knew he was from somewhere down around your parts, but have not heard from him in a long time.  Redneckokie, you have any way of contacting Aggie? Some reason I seem to remember you two stayed in touch.

Ps) Thought Texas A&M had the game in the bag after the first half last night. Sure turned out different than what I expected.

Been busy doing the seasonal projects around the house. Pressure washed and sealed one wood deck. Looks good as new. Had this idea to pressure wash a stone patio. You know how it is, you get on a roll sometimes. 🙂 That did not turn out so well at first. Started washing the stone and the grouting started coming out. Ended up regrouting the whole dang patio. My back has been in revolt ever since. What was I thinking? lol

Still some projects to finish before end of the month. Going to extend a second wood deck off the second story bedroom. Will see if I still have the knack of measuring and cutting a board three times and it still comes up short. And now that the main patio looks so good, I am trapped into doing the same with a walkway and another stone patio around the side of the house. My inspiration to keep going and torturing my body is that the PM’s will do well this month, and I have a few weeks of salt water fishing planned for October. Hurricanes permitting of course.

Always good to see you posting at the Oasis. May not be posting much, but do try and keep up with what is happening under the tent flaps. Thanks for keeping me informed. And BTW, I think your ‘couple months’ is up. Not expecting a smooth ride, but feeling good that we have begun the fall trek up the trail in the PM’s. More than enough crazy in the world to lend us some support I think.

Best to you buddy. And from a bit of news about those quakes out your way, would be happy to lend you a nail gun to secure any lose items you have around the homestead. Not wishing you any ill winds, but would appreciate it if you kept the ‘shakers’ out in your parts. Would break my heart, and pocketbook, to wake up and find my newly grouted patio is in pieces one morning. 🙂

Stay safe, keep the faith, and lets make a few bucks in the trading account, Best, Farmboy

What happens when you allow something to flow one way but not the other for a long period of time?

Posted by Richard640 @ 10:04 on September 4, 2017
In engineering you have to dumpt the excess off GeeZee PeeZee.  Time flies.===From a ZH discussion
About 10 years ago I was down at the American Enterprise Institute taking in a series od lectures on the “Great Financial” crisis.  Nouriel Roubini (the then Dr. Doom – not to be confused with Marc Faber), Chris Whalen, etc would show up often.  I can’t remember who said it, but it went like this, ‘the fed is shorting volitility.’
Why would the Fed short volatitly?  My guess…in unstable time – think 2007 – volitility was perceived to be a bad thing.  I didn’t agree.  It is was it is.  How would the Fed short volitility?  By suppressing – against the upside – things like gold and interest rates.  And suppressing against the downside things like stocks.  We in the engineering field refer to these concepts as diodes.  You know…they allow electricity to flow one way but not the other.
What happens when you allow something to flow one way but not the other for a long period of time?  In engineering you have to dumpt the excess off – in real time.  But in economics, I think we have mean reversion.  You know….if you print money to buy worthless mortgage backed securities you keep house price volitility down, and house prices up.  But what happens when those dollars become worthless?  The problem shows up somewhere else.  It is as if you squeezed one of those long balloons to make an animal at a child’s birthday party.
And then people scramble to get out before the music stops – think stocks and bonds.  Or dollars.  Where do you go when you finally figure out that dollars are worthless?  I hear that Andy Warhols ae going fopr a pretty penny.
So ask yourself the question…..’Is volitility mean reverting?’
(Hint:  My God is it mean reverting.  This could be the biggest beachball held under water one is likely to see in a hundred years.  Should you plat the options on the VIX?  Maybe if you have as much money as Mark Zuckerface.  I don’t like that free speach suppressing, communist prick.  I see an opportunity to short the FANGs here.  As if the whole world didn’t.)

Happy Labor Day To The U.S. Goldbugs

Nice to wake up and know the banksters cant bash away at our gains of last week, at least for today. 🙂

Thanks for the coffee Maya and the great history lesson. How bout dat? A ferry to carry a train and its cargo across the lake. Awesome and inspiring! Sure brings to mind the old saying, “Where there is a will, there is a way.” Perhaps the modern day version of that feat is the Bitcoin story. Seems Bitcoin might be the Ferry to get the goldbugs across the Bankster Swamp? From recent stories it sure appears the banksters are all bent out of shape about a currency they yet have found a way to manipulate. We will see?

Congrats once again on nailing that Bitcoin trade. Well done !

complements  the Yukon infrastructure item that I posted at 15:13.  You may have noted that my postings over time have placed considerable attention on the importance of all-weather roads and power lines in support of mine development in mining-friendly jurisdictions within Canada.  That is one reason my geographic focus for our PM-related investments has been in locations of  Ontario, eastern Manitoba, the Golden Triangle area of British Columbia, and the Dawson Range and Nahanni Range areas within Yukon.   Cheers.  Equiz
