Correction is spots are over I think, simply because the announcement is past us. The next wave has started imo. Loan up on top performers, and I don’t try to hit home runs.

Eeos is right to a certain degree, that ‘business’ machines were predominantly Windows for a long time, but the tide is turning.  I worked in the digital TV conversion process for the last decade.  Early media servers were run by Windows 2000 Server, and that is about the last Windows system I saw coming from manufacturers.  The microsoftware was not reliable enough for high-value broadcast streams.   Many manufacturers went to internal, custom operating systems.  They were all based in Linux.  Suddenly the OS reliability issues went away.

Macs are linux-based now.

North Korea accuses Seoul of ‘cunning plot’ to release snakes over border

North Korean border patrol guards have been ordered to capture snakes apparently released by South Korea to wreak havoc in its northern neighbour, sources have claimed.

Pyongyang is said to have told the military that Seoul’s spy agency is behind the unseasonably high number of snakes in Ryanggang province, which borders China.

“Earlier this month, border patrol units received orders to capture snakes before they crawl over the banks of the Yalu River,” said a source in the province.

He added that the core message from Pyongyang was that South Korea’s National Intelligence Service was using the reptiles “as part of a ‘cunning scheme’ to challenge our unity”. Multiple sources in Ryanggang province are said to have corroborated these claims.

Deutsche Bank profits plummet 98%, CEO warns of further cuts

Germany’s biggest bank posted a net profit of €20 million in the second quarter of the year. This is down from €796 million in the same period in 2015.

Deutsche’s share price fell by four percent on Wednesday after the announcement. Analysts’ predictions had varied from more than a billion euro loss to half a billion profit.

Deutsche Bank chief executive John Cryan warned about the possibility of further cuts.

“If the current weak economic environment persists, we will need to be yet more ambitious in the timing and intensity of our restructuring,” he said on Wednesday.

Overall, Deutsche Bank’s shares have lost about 44 percent of their market value in 2016. This is partly due to increasing skepticism about the bank’s position in the market and $14 billion in fines.

TORONTO/VANCOUVER – Barrick Gold Corp, the world’s largest gold producer, is weighing a sale of its majority stake in African unit Acacia Mining and has approached several South African miners, according to sources familiar with the situation.

The potential sale would be part of Barrick’s broader strategy of selling non-core assets to reduce its debt load. The Toronto-based company offloaded stakes in several mines last year.

IRS Launches Investigation Of Clinton Foundation

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen referred congressional charges of corrupt Clinton Foundation “pay-to-play” activities to his tax agency’s exempt operations office for investigation, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

The request to investigate the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation on charges of “public corruption” was made in a July 15 letter by 64 House Republicans to the IRS, FBI and Federal Trade Commission (FTC). They charged the foundation is “lawless.”

The initiative is being led by Rep. Marsha Blackburn, a Tennessee Republican who serves as the vice chairwoman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, which oversees FTC. The FTC regulates public charities alongside the IRS.

The lawmakers charged the Clinton Foundation is a “lawless ‘pay-to-play’ enterprise that has been operating under a cloak of philanthropy for years and should be investigated.”
