The resolution? of the Greenland fracas doesn’t seem to have hurt the metals-shares at all.

GDP pretty much in line

Posted by Buygold @ 9:18 on January 22, 2026

4.4% Q/Q vs. 4.3 % estimates. The PCE component came in on the mark.

Full PCE’s come out at 10 EST. I doubt they will surprise.

We’ll see how we do after they hit the sell button at the SM open.

Are we going to see the Larry Fink effect?

PCE & GDP numbers came out

Posted by Buygold @ 8:43 on January 22, 2026

I’m guessing they were sort of in line with estimates. PM ‘s haven’t moved much. With all the excitement of late, eco numbers haven’t had the impact they had for all those years. Maybe just no longer an excuse to sell.

We do have a Fed meeting next week and they still garner a reaction.

Maybe we’ll have a quiet day.

Yeah that’s him. Glad to see he survived and is still barking on the police state going on over there.

What people in communist state say about police they have in common should be a hint what they turned into.  They’re not there for the people they’re there for the government to protect them from the people.

“Aussie MSM tends to be quite self centred.”

i think that’s a flaw of each news system.  i want to hear about the affairs of jefferson county, and you probably haven’t a clue to which jefferson county i mean. (many states have one).

Re your parts:

Part: “That doesn’t automatically mean the he is a sane or fit person to run the country, just that he could afford to run.”

Res: I think he’s a pretty smart successful businessman, has a lot of common sense, and a billionaire, and he did not need the head aches and abuse he got from prior useless leadership.  He was trying to reverse the past nonsense. We are lucky he took up the challenge. He was like millions of us out here that saw the USA in decline. Through all the presidents.

Part: “Setting aside his lack of diplomacy”

Res: We had decades of dumbass diplomacy and look at what happened to our country. And our currency.

Part: “All his claims about tariffs, and most of his claims about the economy, are unhinged.”

Res: Geez, maybe we need an unhinged person to run the country. When you fly into a fog or motor into shallow water, you turn around and go the other way.

Part: “Well, we shouldn’t be surprised as he’s a real estate salesman. Never made anything in his life.”

Res: He’s not a salesman, he’s a builder of things that have value like manufacturing. a creator of wealth. And he knows how to negotiate.

If I was president I would not care about all the other leaching countries, and give them all 100% tariffs, and we would go thru withdrawals and then feel good again. He imo is being too nice and fair. No pain no gain.

Do you know what ever happened to that guy on rumble I forget his name, Australia during Covid talking about what bulling the government was doing until they went after him and someone helped him get to Cancun. Cancun is filled with cartel. People are Advised to stay in the vacation resort tourist area. After he started criticizing Trump all the time and looking like a lib people lost interest. Did he ever make it back home do you know?

goldie, no MSM here.

Posted by ferrett @ 18:58 on January 21, 2026

Trump rarely gets a mention. Sure, Greenland, tariffs and he’s at Davos get mentioned. Maduro’s extraction. But Aussie MSM tends to be quite self centred.

I’m just curious if your hearing things on MSM about the US as maybe a diversion from what’s going on in their own countries europe the UK and the countries under its influence as their fall guy.

Where leaders are appointed and not elected destroying those great countries but yet they are more critical over a president that is working to save ours? A president that is no longer going to get stuck holding he bag for all the mismanagement, their globalist next, the wars they will start for their own profit but don’t want to fight while at the same time letting millions of grifters in to replace their own people per criminally insane Globalist. As long as they spoke and act ” proper ” about it as they jail their own people for speaking the truth.

They just stopped getting the respect they don’t deserve but the same respect they give their citizens.

Know them by their deeds.

The US oil majors are right on a major break out…..whatever Trump is doing it ain’t hurting Big Oil

bearle

Mr.Copper, I agree with you about manufacturing. Keep it in-house as much as possible.

Posted by ferrett @ 18:05 on January 21, 2026

Not only does it save money but ensures quality.

Sure, he’s better than the previous presidents who were actively working to destroy America. He was the only choice, aided by huge funding from himself personally and people like Miriam Abelson’s $400m. That doesn’t automatically mean the he is a sane or fit person to run the country, just that he could afford to run.

Setting aside his lack of diplomacy, which can be an advantage sometimes, shaking things up a bit, he seems to have no understanding of numbers whilst portraying himself as a brilliant businessman. Tariff revenue for the fiscal year to 15th January was $101bn.

https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/static-data/published-reports/dts/DailyTreasuryStatement_20260115.pdf

But tariff revenue for 2024 fiscal year was $96bn, or $8bn per month – so the extra Trumpian tariff revenue is running at about $250bn per year. With an annual deficit of $3tn. And debt of $39tn. Depending on how the $2,000 tariff dividend is applied it will cost between $280bn to $607bn – that is, the tariff dividend will exceed the revenue. It will ADD to the national debt. All his claims about tariffs, and most of his claims about the economy, are unhinged.

Venezuelan oil. Now he’s got the oil majors offside because they are telling him that you just can’t turn the taps back on and he’s refusing to accept it. And the shale producers because what oil is now coming to America is dropping the price enough to make drilling a no-no.

Well, we shouldn’t be surprised as he’s a real estate salesman. Never made anything in his life.

I thank you for the article. Trump I believe got elected by all the people like myself that stopped voting for the typical useless do nothing presidents we had after JFK.

I was in manufacturing, so I knew long ago, that you do NOT farm out work that we can do at home. After 1970 all I kept seeing was imported cars, then TVs consumer electronics, shoes and clothing, and tools and everything else killed the living standards here.

Sometimes by looking at the price of gold, I think the whole global financial system is starting to collapse, and all this Trump news is keeping peoples minds occupied to avoid it.

Like the EU said well the only thing tarriffs will do is bring prices up for consumers. 🙂  oookay Feb 1 starts at 10 percent then 25 percent. Got phyzz?.
