Okay now I know ICE was initials but they do actually have ICE engines too lol.

Ice engines? I don’t know what they are. Also don’t know how other auto makers are doing in other countries. It’s good to have that input to look at world demand.

Plus another Federal Gov. Is on board with a rate cut at the end of this month. We shall see.

Plat and Pall are way more volatile than Gold and with the SM suddenly looking weak, bears are back…..Longer term demand from ICE engines will go from near zero to near where it was….the mkt was pricing in zero demand, from ICE engines.

Re the Perth Mint

they did have a v good reputation, but then got caught up in the Non allocated scandal…..more than likely because some smart Alec, persuaded them, it was money for old rope and everyone else was doing it, so why not……which was all well and good until a few too many asked for their metal back.

I can well imagine that ever since they have been behaving perfectly, to get their reputation back. I have certainly heard nothing else bad about them.

Ps and the Smart Alec, is at the bottom of a very deep mine.

Gold 5000

Posted by goldielocks @ 5:39 on October 17, 2025

If gold stays on its current buying pattern it should rise to 5000 before the end of this year. Seems unbelievable but with big money it’s possible.

.Increased demand  for new cars is  now declining. I’m guessing one of the reasons along with profit taking from the same reason might have  something do with it selling today. It does not affect Gold or silver although silver is also industrial it’s demand is still in place and not dependent in one sector.

New car sales are down in the U.S. due to a recent surge in sales before potential tariffs, which pulled forward demand, followed by higher prices and economic uncertainty that are discouraging consumers. Tariffs on auto imports and parts increase costs for manufacturers, leading to higher prices for consumers. This is combined with general economic uncertainty and high interest rates, making consumers hesitant to make large purchases.

As long as it stays on the bull path I saw indicators turning down slightly on some but short term ones. I didn’t look at the whole market. It might be slowing the move up again  where taking silver to 60s could take another month. Gold certainly made up for some of the lost time yesterday. Securing some profits in levels laddering up stops helps in stocks. I personally wouldn’t want to jump ship totally as long as it’s in a bullish path above support or speculate going short on a short squeeze.  The big money will decide.

World markets in trouble

Posted by Buygold @ 4:29 on October 17, 2025

Our SM in trouble too.

Gold and bonds are the only thing standing at the moment. Oil down .75% with a $56 handle. Bitcoin down another 2% or $2K. Dollar down some.

Gold up $20. Silver down $.35. Platinum and palladium getting pounded for 3% ea.

PM shares won’t be spared, unless this is viewed as a “buy the dip” moment. GDX is down 2% and GDXJ 3% in early trading.

Not sure what’s spooked the markets exactly. ZH has some rumblings about regional banks. Maybe it’s some banks that have been runover by the move in pm’s. Who knows?

It does look deflationary at the moment though. Fed will need to fire up the printing presses.

Never know, they might pile into gold and silver as the day goes on. Buckle up.

I’m awful tired now but I think the vax detoxers were wrong. I’m not seeing cod liver oil detox the body. I’ll have to look more into it

I’m seeing supplements like this chosing one at a time the see which ones will also help with others. I talked to a Asian nurse today who was a cancer survivor. We talked about having to check on what people say is good for you. She is a cancer survivor. Some speaker at a meeting said dark chocolate once a day was good for them. She started taking it then decided to look it up to find it was full of lead. She stopped taking it lol

Nutrients that may help with lead exposure

  • Calcium: Helps reduce lead levels by decreasing its absorption and is crucial for preventing ongoing release of lead from bones.
  • Iron: Low iron levels are associated with higher blood lead levels, and good iron levels can protect the kidneys.
  • Zinc: Competes with lead for absorption and helps protect the enzyme ALAD (delta-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase), which is sensitive to lead toxicity.
  • Vitamin C: Linked to lower blood lead levels and reduced organ damage, though its ability to increase excretion is not consistently demonstrated.
  • Vitamin D: Can help decrease the amount of lead stored in the bones.
  • Vitamin B1 (Thiamine): Demonstrated in animal studies to increase lead excretion from the brain.
  • Vitamin B9 (Folate): Shown in animal studies to help with lead excretion.

Well that eliminates the lead pretty much. I don’t know much at all about how to process them  but a wet grinder a smaller quieter one with removable parts will probably yield you smoother  fine chocolate. Just dilute it for consumption and look for foods that bind with the metal and pull it out of the body. Chelation is dangerous as it can pull out vital nutrients with it. On smaller scales and amounts of natural products not so bad.

High quality purified cod liver old helps remove mercury, lead and cadmium. Perfect for the Islands with a lot of fish because it removed mercury too. Just be careful with it. Learn how much is enough and how often. High in vita A and D so can become toxic if you take too much. But there the antidote 🙂

I don’t ferment my cacao beans outdoors in the open.  I built a temperature-controlled incubator in a 48-Qt cooler.  Before use I sterilize the interior with a peroxide wipe-down.  Failure to keep the beans sanitary results in mold growing on them.   Learn from experience.  Also important to vent the humidity & condensation daily during the 5-7 day fermentation.  And then drying them more in the dehydrator.

Only nit is grinding them finely enough.  I use a high speed coffee grinder, but the powder can still be a little bit gritty.  Mortar and pestle only serves to mash it into sticky clumps, as the beans still have all the cocoa butter with the whole bean.

Sorry to hear about your tree mishap! At least no one was hurt.

I consider these big as* trees to be about the same as expensive dangerous weeds. A friend and I had a line on some “large” trees to cut down and take for firewood. When we got there we beheld these massive 3-4 ft diam. trees surrounded by houses and power lines. We declined the job! We heard that the prop owner had gotten a bid from a tree service for $14k to take down these 6 or 7 trees. Yikes!

Good to see you posting.

Northern Dynasty

Posted by aufever @ 23:52 on October 16, 2025

Can’t find anything new, since the 6th, except the zerohedge article Maddog posted. Nothing new on the legal front.
From google AI:
August 2025: A summary judgment timetable was set by the court, requiring plaintiffs (Northern Dynasty, the State of Alaska, and others) to file their opening briefs by October 3, 2025, and the DOJ to file its response by January 2, 2026.
Late July 2025: Negotiations for a potential settlement between the EPA and Northern Dynasty broke down without a resolution.
Late July 2025: The DOJ requested a delay, citing the departure of two key attorneys from the Environment and Natural Resources Division and the need for newly assigned counsel to get up to speed.
Early October 2025: With a government shutdown underway, the DOJ filed another request to stay the case.
October 6, 2025: Northern Dynasty announced it would object to the stay request, stating it was eager to proceed with the case and adhere to the original briefing schedule.

GoldenAge, yes, rhenium is a ‘rare earth mineral’, and is included in Northern Dynasty plans.

What it cost to make a ounce of silver

Posted by goldielocks @ 22:51 on October 16, 2025

At what price should silver need to be in order to open more mines.

This was when silver was 30 a ounce and at that time it wasn’t worth it.

I tried something different in silver

Posted by goldielocks @ 21:50 on October 16, 2025

I gave Apmex another chance cuz I think it was the mauls fault but did find out if something missing the initial person on the phone will try to change the subject although too late to do anything about the missing gold coins a free gold back they sent inabout securing packages better still will play dumb, a he. My order was delayed going on two weeks. I wanted to try out 5 ounce silver with the eagles design and newer eagle on the back. I figured they would be easier to stack instead of the one ounces. I was surprised. There nice new coins but wasn’t expecting the super sized, theyre   as big as coasters. Lol  Pretty cool would make good gifts too. Grabbed more coins before silver broke through resistance.

On the last chart you posted, we are looking for that XAU/GOLD chart to move back up toward the .16 level, correct? That’s a long way from here. The shares would be just getting started.

On the gold chart, we have moved up over $900 since the last week of August. The moves have intensified as we have moved up $300 this week alone. It would seem that we’re going to see some really big moves up before we see a reversal/pause. Maybe we’ve already seen them over the last few days, but it doesn’t feel that way. I’m thinking this pauses when we see a $200-300 daily move up.

If Bitcoin/crypto is actually unwinding. The ride could be epic.

I’m still around , folks ( Buygold thx for asking)

Just dealing with a lot . and I will describe one of my current distractions.
About a month ago a neighbor’s tree was hit by lightning . That causes sap to boil instantly , creating a steam explosion which shattered the tree trunk about 20 feet up . That tree was overgrown by a wild fig vine which wraps around and around the outer growth of the host , adding massively to make the tree top heavy and lean southward seeking the sun . The peak of my roof is directly South , about 35 or 40 feet away , and that is where the upper trunk and top 25 feet of oak and vine landed , taking out a skylight as well as structural damage to that end of my roof . The tree was about 100 feet tall.
Fortunately this doublewide manufactured home was very well built , but even so , the roof edge 2 by 8 has about an 18 inch longitudinal split , starting at the bottom edge and running toward the ridge . That is on the tensile side of the centerline of the 2 by 8.
I will be able to repair it by using a commercial grade C-clamp to close the split and adding steel plates on both sides .
Being on the downhill side of my mid-80’s doesn’t help with agility , LOL .
Fortunately I am wiry and thin , so much fitter than most my age.
All is well , I am fortunate that it was not much worse.

Thanks for that article. I’ve been looking all day for some reason they dropped today. Their main products will be copper, gold, and molybdenum which is not technically a rare earth mineral. But maybe they are considered related to the broader sector.
Haven’t even found why they took off again a month or so ago after pulling back from the shot they took after Trump’s announcement in the Summer. Maybe just optimism about their case, or insider information about it. They did file a brief October 6, as I’m sure you know, but the stock was moving before that.
